I grew up in OKC (1st class at Westmoore :) and left for UCLA after HS ...haven't been back to OK in YEARS! My husband is born/raised in Los Angeles and I think I've got him convinced to move back to OK...fingers crossed... It's so ugly here now - homeless & druggies everywhere, everything is falling apart, you can't even visit Venice Beach anymore it's so bad :(

Heyyy fellow okie! 👋🏽 yea if you haven't been back in years it's definitely worth a trip. So much has changed here, I think you and your hubby will love it now. So many things to do around here. If you do end up moving back, have a safe trip! 🙂

I moved here after years of military assignments and am now retired in OKC. This is a good sample but trust me there is soo much more in OKC. This focuses on downtown which is great but there is allot more going on north and south of downtown.

Hey I'm headed to okc soon to live. I am enjoying these videos. Can you guys do a tour on frontier city and water parks in okc so i can show my kids. Also are there any good family fun centers?
@LivinanOKlife4 жыл бұрын
Awesome, thank you for watching them! Yes, we will put that on our list of upcoming videos. Thank you for suggesting it! And around here we have the usual like dave & buster's and Main event, those are good for older kids. There is also a Heyday in Norman that has more things than the bricktown location. Andy Alligator's is right next door(small water park). Celebration Station & Chuck e cheese are good for younger kids. Cactus Jack's is popular as well. Incredible Pizza/Gatti Town (it's name changes back and forth every few years for some reason lol its the same location though)

Me and my wife we love you guys videos I’m a truck 🛻 driver we would like to move there just had some questions 1 how is diversity 2 what sides of town would you recommend 3 we have a 5 year old how are the schools 🏫 where is the better ones 4 is the wind all ways blowing 5 are the tornadoes 🌪 really that bad
@LivinanOKlife3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! 1. It's predominantly white but we do have a good mix of black, Hispanics, Asians, and native Americans 2. Depends on where you work and what you like. If you want a busy bustling area then nw okc, up and coming new neighborhoods Edmond, Yukon/Mustang. Moore/norman area are typically good for families. 3. Okc public schools are constantly getting a bad rep like budget wise/teacher-student ratio/athletics etc. I personally graduated from an OKCPS and I think I turned out fine lol but that was also 11years ago.. parents tend go for better opportunities in places like Mustang schools system, Norman public schools, and Edmond/Deer Creek public schools 4. The wind is not always blowing lol, some days in the summer it can be just hot without wind or shade in sight. But for the most part yes you can expect windy days here. 5. The tornadoes aren't that bad. The last major ones were 2013 in Moore and El Reno. Just have a plan and you will be fine. Now the flooding when it rains gets pretty bad. Be careful

How’s the situation there , just planning to visit your town , just for 2 days .been watching ur video especially the food places👍🏻
@LivinanOKlife4 жыл бұрын
Hi! In OKC and alot of the surrounding metro areas have mask mandates in place so be prepared for that. Most places are open to eat with limited seating on the inside. A lot of restaurants are ramping up their outdoor seating though so they can sit more people. As far as what there is to do, everything is pretty much open here, but the hours aren't as late anymore so definitely go check things out early in the day. If you need any suggestions for different types of food or areas to check out, let us know, we'd be happy to recommend something. We plan on doing some more food videos soon so maybe you'll get to check those out before you come as well. Thanks for watching!

Livin' an OK life thanks for the information are still people coming from different states to visit , jus checking out brick town which I saw in your video and the museum , drive around the town and eat some good food as also kids like sweets so any good bakeries 😁
@LivinanOKlife4 жыл бұрын
cuppies and joes on 23rd street is a good local bakery, also katie bugs sips & sweets in automobile alley on 9th st. If you have kids, then they may enjoy the zoo & the science museum. Those are located right next door to each other in the adventure district. we will be putting out our video soon about the different districts around here, it's taking slightly longer than expected lol but I think you would like some of the districts to drive through

Hey, Thanks for watching! So everything in this video is open besides Sonic, the movie theater, and the baseball stadium. Mostly everything is open here but with social distancing in place or you have to wear a mask/get a reservation since some places are limiting how many people can come in. Also there are food spots that are still just doing take out but many are open for seating. Very limited seating though. Hope you have a great time when you come! Is there anything you were wanting to know about specifically? We are planning to do more videos about what there is do around here so we will have more suggestions for you soon. Stay tuned! 😀

Yea we have alot of them! Now how fancy are you talking and what do you want to eat? Also since you commented on our Bricktown video are you looking for restaurants that are close in the area? Look up these places for a fancy dinner - Vast (great views), Mahogany, Micky Mantles, The Mantle, Ranch Steakhouse, Red Prime, The Melting Pot, Gabriellas, Black Walnut, La Brasa. Look at these places if you want EXTRAVAGANT dinner - Grey Sweater & NoneSuch

@@jamiedugas4204 hmm for teens depends on what they like to do. Besides things in this video, I'd suggest Hurricane Harbor, Frontier City, River Sport Rapids, Main Event, Dave n Busters, Floating films, Chicken n Pickle, Lake overholser, Epic paint ball, Elevation Trampoline park, Laser Quest, Heritage lanes Bowling. If they like to shop go to either Penn Square Mall or the Outlet on Reno. Hopefully some of these will work for you!

Well I don't think its completely not here but okc is pretty chill in our opinion. Now if you go to smaller towns in Oklahoma where it's not as much diversity, you may have a different outcome. But as always when answering questions like this on our channel some folks may have different opinions on this so guess it all depends on who you ask really
