This list is hurtin. The fact that they left out the Trans Am GTA is bad and specifically didn’t speak of the tuned port injection 5.7 350 from the IROC and the GTA and its large performance advantage over their 305 is rather glaring. Then forgetting the very best Firebird Trans Am of that time: the 1989 turbo Trans Am, which is a rare one that is actually powered by the Buick GNX 3.8L turbo set up, is blasphemy not having it on this list. But by far the biggest mistake in this video is not noting the biggest performers of the late 80s the 1987-1989 5.0 Mustang LX and GT fox body models. The 5.0’s were pretty much the king back then if you got one with a five speed standard in it. It had by far the largest aftermarket selection of parts available as well. And especially in terms of performance pretty much all of the big boy races back then we’re always between the GNX, the 5.7 Camaros and Firebirds and the 5.0 Mustangs. They were pretty much the kings of the street back then.

The 5.0 Mustang LX and Firebird Formula 350 were relatively lightweight performance cars of the era that should've been on the list; I'd include the C4 Corvette as well, though the argument could be made that it's more sports car than muscle car. The Cougar, T-bird, Grand Prix, and non-442 Cutlass are all questionable at best.
