I like them all, but my favorites are definitely takumi and Leo. They both have personalities that can be fun and while it’s still generic, it’s better than the others in my opinion. Of course, narrowing it down Leo is my overall favorite out of fates since I feel like while takumi has the incredible inferiority complex rarely anyone talks about HOW DEPRESSING LEO’S LIFE IS AFTER BIRTHRIGHT. After the war he finds Xander and Elise *dead* and Camilla was throws away her crown and leaves Leo to rule a kingdom he never had training for. With the addition that he will always think Xander should’ve been the rightful heir and only has Niles left. Leo is the type of person who wouldn’t show how damaged he was after the war and with the fact that he will live in a castle full of his memories of his dead siblings and Camilla is nowhere to be found. Maybe she visits every now and then but concealing all his emotions will slowly drive him crazy and despite how much he wanted together a better king Leo will slowly lose his sanity and become just like his father. One reason why I like Leo more is because his somewhat Tsundere personality is adorable and I love his design. And a part of why Leo grew on me more was because of sympathy of how his life would be after birthright.

Welp here i go. 10. Corrin - Just... band and uninteresting. 9. Azura - I dont mind her as much, her design is beautiful and does have her moments but again couldnt really care much about her really, i agree that she basically a plot device character. 8. Camilla - Okay before i'm gonna get some shit from putting her this low. I like her character shes calm and collected. But she is abit too much at times with her otherses with corrin at times. Pretty soild unit too. 7. Hinoka - I like her better then Camilla and find her character pretty nice. But i just wish she could of have alittle more linelight to the her in the story. 6. Elise - She is so cute and honestly she can be a really good unit to pomoted plus really good supports like her and Leo. 5. Ryoma - Broken unit... just broken unit but character - wise yeah... bland sadly. He does has good supports tho. 4. Sakura - SHE IS SO ADORABLE and is honestly try her hardest. Heck like you said in the video she scared Azama with her little rage. 3. Xander - Character wise i like him better then Ryoma, has good supports and is breast at times. 2. Leo - This.. was hard choice between these too. Leo tired his hardest to work hard to be the best that he can be only not to get prasied by it. At first Leo seems like that Emo character that basically is independent and by himself all the time. But really.. his a loveable dork who wants love from his family and can be a clutz at times (Collar problem lol) sadly then reason i put him at 2 is well.. his an okay unit. Other then that Leo is my Favouite Nohr Sibling. 1. Takumi - Yes... JUST Yes! Not only Takumi is my favourite royal but my favourite character in the game. He's like Leo but with alot of self doubt and compares him to Hinoka and Ryoma alot. My first path was conquest and i felt BAD for Takumi. His inferiority complex threw the game really intested me to the point i cried to the end game. And dont get me started on him being a unit. For me Takumi is the best out of them all and really wish he didnt get alot of hate.

Leo's my favorite royal sibling mainly because of this little bit in Birthright: he tries to use his inferiority complex to muster as much hate as he can against you, but no matter how hard he tries he could never hate you and actually parts with you on good terms after his battle. If there was anything that showed how much of a softie he was under his stoicism, it's that small moment.

10) Corrin (No brainer) 9) Camilla (Nice hair and a good unit, but her character is a fanservice vehicle and what potential exists is buried in a scant few supports. Like what an adult thinks a child is like. Also since I played the game in Japanese, her voice literally killed me) 6) Ryoma (A god of a unit. Also while the writer's probably didn't intend for it, I find that he's often pretty hot-headed and reckless. Like when he yoloed off to Cheve.) 5) Xander (Great unit, good looks, and surprisingly compelling backstory. Too bad it's restricted to supports and the story does otherwise not do a good job of not making him look like hypocrite.) 4) Hinoka (Very little character development, but I liked the initial set up enough. Plus she has an awesome design and is a very good unit. ) 3) Leo (Very complex and interesting character. Great design and an okay unit. The reason he isn't higher is because of the manga's shilling of him and how the fandom waters him down all the time) 2) Sakura (So sweet and kind. Also very shy in a relatable way but also more than willing to take a stand for the people she loves. She's willing to fight Corrin and attacks Iago. This girl rocks!) 1) Takumi (Most relatable character in FE. His issues are very realistic, and I find he often reacts in ways I do. But he is kind to the people he loves and very genuine. Also one of the most broken units in game. A+)

Azura (Very sweet character overall, and I love her supports with Arthur. I do question her logic at times, though.) 5.) Takumi (He single-handedly saved Conquest for me in terms of villains, and is overall a very interesting character.) 4.) Hinoka (My favorite Hoshidan Royal. Corrin (Now I can already see quite a few eyebrows raised at me putting Corn this high, but I genuinely admire them as an individual and love some of their supports, especially in moments like Charlotte’s S-Support. And I also disagree with the notion of Corrin being a wuss in Conquest; need I remind you of Ch. 16 amongst other instances?) 1.) I didn't like Xander in the story campaign. In fact, in-story, especially Birthright, I think he was written lousy and extremely inconsistent. There were a lot of stupid moments he had in the story and a lot of hypocrisies and was overly patriotic compared to his support conversations. He was just a tool.

Stat/performance wise, considering them in their default classes. I'm excluding Corrin cause he's OP anyway: 1) Ryoma: critical murder machine that destroys anything that crosses his path. Can dodge most attacks and even tank a few. He's the perfect unit. 2) Takumi : almost as good as Ryoma, in that he can murder practically everything he aims at. Being an archer means he's just not as useful in enemy phase, though. 3) Camilla : hits as hard as Ryoma, plus she's a little bit more tanky and has incredible mobility. The flying weakness is severe, though. 4) Xander : superb tank, hits super hard. Mages melt him to the ground though, so he needs to be extra careful when they're out. Otherwise, solid unit. 5) Leo : hits hard and can cripple mages, but he can be a little too slow and fragile at times. He's very good at finishing weakened enemies though. 6) Hinoka: best anti-mage character in the game. She's just impervious to magic attacks. Weak against everything else. At least she can help finishing off weakened enemies. 7) Sakura : a good healer and a weaker version of Takumi when promoted to priestess. She was good enough in the times I needed her. 8) Elise: she's the best healer, but she's too fragile and can't hit shit as a strategist - basically she can't fight. I kept her as healer only and didn't complain.

I recently replayed Conquest. I can't give my thoughts on the Hoshidan siblings because i don't remember them too well but I grew to like the Nohrian Royals a lot and they were the shining light in a genuinely terrible plot. 6. Corn 5. Azura (She ... exists at least her supports are alright) 4. Camilla (Nile's comparing her obsession with Corrin to loving an abandoned puppy added a lot to her I think) 3. Elise (Precious cinnamon role) 2. Xander (I know he's inconsistent in his supports but my god he's a beast in combat, his design is perfection and his personality is respectable despite the inconsistency) 1. Leo (my favourite character in the whole game)

I wouldn't mind Corrin if he/she didn't constantly make bad choices compared to what was implied in support convos. To me, Corrin as a character was very inconsistent in motive and drive. I understand that Corrin is an abuse victim and the naivete could be based more on Corrin's insecurities and fears created by the people around him/her and living conditions rather than a complete lack of knowledge on their end; considering Xander, Gunter, Leo, and Silas all had a greatly positive hand in raising Corrin in strength and logic, and the Hoshidan siblings had to feel deep guilt from losing Corrin, specifically Ryoma is the oldest, and trust me as an oldest sibling myself, I can understand why Ryoma was extremely pissed off on not only the fact Corrin was kidnapped and their father murdered, but how it happened, and I can understand Sakura's insecurities, because she was the real target for the kidnapping and unknowingly developed a guilt complex for Corrin's rough upbringing. Still, Corrin is not the worst Lord in the series (to me it goes to Roy and Ephiraim personally is too much the opposite of Corrin for me to enjoy either), but I will say going by their support conversations, Corrin's decision making in-story was incredibly inconsistent with what we got with supports, and it didn't help he came off wimpy from beginning to end with Conquest and nearly psychopathic in Birthright.

Screw it, I'm making that list now! This list will shift each time I think over Fates, so take it with some salt. My attempt to take in all factors, which unfortunately includes my experience. 9. Leo--Would like much more if relevant in my eyes. Wasn't afraid of battling him. Used him for him to fall off hard. With a better character here, that shadow looms across both Hoshido and Nohr. 8. Sakura--While a sucker for cuteness and healers, she didn't keep a good impression throughout my playthroughs. Sorry to those not happy with this placement. 7. Ryoma--Loved him at first, but reflection is a cruel mistress. He really is so damn strong and has no vices. And that is exactly what keeps him here today. 6. Xander--Two parts amazing, one part among the worst I've seen. I really wanted to put Xander over the halfway mark, but story Xander is Corrin quality. 5. Hinoka--Favorite design and great performance. But story didn't use her and supports only scratched the surface. Big fan but factors slid her down to this rank. 4. Camilla--Strong. Hot as hell. Loving to a fault. Fictional crazy(I like that). Overexposure certainly is annoying via FEH and what not, but please do not deny her character and badassery. 3. Azura--Pure cosmetic and performance. A stoic lass that I can relate to. Her moves and being best dancer in the series(by far) as well as interesting in supports. Story... no comment. 2. Takumi--Best written character in the game. By far. While I was annoyed with the edge in this one, he was the most interesting when I actually looked into his character. He's strong as hell too. 1. Elise--Favorite. Healer. Ever. There might be no other to top this one, she is so damn adorable. So uplifting and cheery. And one monster of a war machine when deployed proper.

10. Corrin. They're cute, but I've never used Dragon Stone and some of the supports are just, kinda mean and I don't want to feel uncomfortable when the protagonist is supposed to be me. 9. Xander. He is... not my favorite. I don't like his choices in the game or his personality. Some of his supports are fine, and he is a really tanky unit, but he feels overpowered and I hate to use units like that. 8. Camilla. I hate characters like her, so I might be a bit biased, but I also don't like her unit. Sure, a dragon rider is always great, but I've never really saw the point in giving her magic...? I'd rather use three axes and a tome on her, but it feels like I have to use three tomes and an axe... I dislike her playstyle to put it simply. 7. Hinoka. I like her personality wise, if this list was purely based on them, she'd be in top 5, but she can be so underwhelming combat wise that sometimes it feels like Subaki can do her job better. 6. Ryoma. I like him, his mission with the rebels is nice, and he has always been really strong unit in every of my playtroughs without feeling like a op god later on, but he is really, really bland. 5. Azura. I like her character and most of her supports, I dislike that she's a plot devise. She plays really well as an unit that gives extra turns, but I hate that she only gets level C spears. Why...? At least give her B level. 4. Elise. She's cutesy, a little too childish, but a really great magical unit. My only problem is that she feels like she dies too easily. 3. Leo. He is great. He is powerful and can take a hit with great mobility. His divine weapon feels like the weakest of the bunch, but with a selection of tomes and his Ice Blade, he feels almost unstoppable. His personality is really nice as well. 2. Sakura. She's kind and helpful and her support are mostly really nice. As stated in the video, Shining Bow Sakura is a beast. Add selection of Rods and you have a competent healer that in my playtroughs survived better than Elise. 1. Takumi. I've always liked Takumi. Both personality wise, ingame story wise and unit wise. He feels relatable as a character (to me at least) and his supports are pretty good, not the best in the game but certainly not the worst. His story is nice and it feels like he gets his own spotlight in every route. And he is strong. Oh, is he strong. He has always been one of my top units and he can hold his own really, really well when considering he is a bow user and can't always hit back. His divine weapon feels really great to use as well, not partly underwhelming like Leo's and not mostly overwhelming like Ryoma and Xander's. He is well rounded without being overpowered and I really like that.

I don't like Camilla and I love Azura, but you can relate to Camilla and I can relate to Azura, the list doesn't bother me. Also Ryoma flaw is that he's too focused on the kingdom, Xander shares this flaw since they are the oldest, but Camilla's supports with Xander do show he is paying attention to his siblings so I see how he's higher. I prefer Sakura to Elise because I'm not a fan of energetic characters. I drifted more to Hoshido because I would side with my birth family. I like Takumi in Birthright because he overcomes his inferiority complex, Leo is just cool on both sides and I wish Hinoka had more screen time. Corrin is really just extremely naive and I think people overlook the fact that they were ISOLATED IN A FREAKING TOWER. What do you really expect from someone so new to this kind of experience. Corrin can't be perfect because of how naive they are. They can't help it. Honestly Corrin should be excluded from character focused list because everyone has the same opinion at this point. I just wanted to express my opinion, your list is fine I'm not hating on it

Xiakil Akuma I can't agree more about corrin, I like how his isolation reflects his personality in both paths, in conquest he follows the family he knows because it's one of the few things in life he has experience with, so how naive he is really reflects that. And in birthright he makes a decision based on the betrayal and deceit, being kidnapped and isolated, he's full of anger and wants revenge.

Corrin wasn't that isolated. He had Xander to have mature conversations with and to help with personal issues, Gunter was literally like a grandfather to Corrin even to the point of disobeying Garon to do it (I still remember he played catch with Corrin with a ball made of a whip he was ordered to beat Corrin with just for the lawls or his way to just break Corrin to make him/her stronger and more resilient; abuse either way), Leo to watch over his time using tactics and logic, and definitely Silas, who not only joined the Guard for Corrin's safety, but admitted as kids, he would sneak Corrin out into the city to play with him/her; not out of pity, but either out of real camaraderie (if male) or love (if female).

I have NY! Takumi, and I want bow Takumi. He seems like a really fun character even in his own game, and I can see just why he was so broken. At least Leo made a name for himself. Takumi was betrayed by a person he called family, and was always overshadowed by his siblings. Finally, his weapon is easily one of my favorite in the entire series, especially due to its aesthetics and concept.

Have you seen Ghast's Support Science? I know you mentioned Ghast in one of your videos, so I'm curious if you watch those vids. Very good and insightful, as Azura was not just acting differently with just the younger siblings, but to others as well, such as Laslow, Kaden, etc. Or just how terribly they wrote Xander in the story when his support truly showed otherwise. Also, the first Sakura I knew was Cardcaptor Sakura. And she remains my most favorite Sakura. It's a damn shame that very few Sakuras actually compare to the Sakura I know and love. As for Camilla, it makes sense why she is a yandere. Though not to the yandere that Yuno is. Rather, Camilla is more willing to kill her loved ones if they hint at the possibility of breaking the fragile world she has in her mind. Example will be Camilla's support with Selena. When Xander and Leo speak with their Awakening retainers, they get told that one day, said retainer might leave them, and both royals accept and hope that their retainers will do well. Camilla makes no such remark. She threatens to cut Selena's legs off to prevent her from running. She even says that she is the only home for Selena. Camilla is crazy, and she cannot truly cope with loss if loved ones that well.

Unpopular opinion: I find Elise to be annoying. I've got no problem with cinnamon rolls, but Elise is just too much for me. Constantly giggling, constantly acting like a child, constantly getting on my nerves. I don't hate Elise for this, but I definitely can't like her cause she just rubs me the wrong way.....but hey, at least her design is interesting.

Bows were pretty good in Awakening, too. I just did a play through with Sniper Chrom and Bow Knight Noire, and both were really good. This is likely thanks to Awakening's abundance of mages, and the abundance and power of Long Bows.

Nice video, I especially like the bits in between the explanations. If I had to call top 9 royals from my non-objective perspective of Fates but excluding Corrin because you have to use him and if utility is called into question by that he would be top three easily, I would have to say starting from the bottom is Takumi because his case is more of a personal similarity that spiraled out of control and turned into complete repulsion (and the constant memes didn't help),Xander was due to me playing Birthright first, as well as my entry point and unsurprisingly really does change a person's perspective, Camilla but shockingly it was more of bad luck in stat growths from early game that never really healed late game which consistently forces her out of story chapters rather than personality for me, Ryoma, Azura, Hinoka, Elise, Leo, and finally Sakura. If/when I try Fates' Birthright and Conquest paths (because I burnt myself out of Rev.) I should give my lower rated units another shot because those runs now were garbage and heck I've spent time at least grinding in Rev. to see the full potential I might get out of every unit but Gunter.

I actually related to Corrin, especially after Conquest. Conquest MAKES you feel like the scum that was scraped off the earth. Every single chapter after Chapter 9, slowly starts making Corrin regret wanting to save Nohr from the inside. Then Corrin is forced to lie to Ryoma about killing Hinoka. After fighting Ryoma and telling him that they are trying to save Hoshido too. Ryoma then feels relieved to hear that Corrin is still doing good and finding out Hinoka is alive, then, Mr Plot Convenience Iago, overhears Corrin and Ryoma. Ryoma then willingly kills himself for Corrin so they don't have more blood on their hands because Ryoma must "fulfill a Samurai's final duty" and tells Corrin good luck. Then, Azura walks in during the next scene and drills in the fact that it was their choice, they WANTED to save Nohr, WANTED to play the Good Cop Bad Cop game, only to regret it. I'm a good person and all, but, I will say that Conquest made me feel empty. I had a bad time. I know this is your top 10 list and your opinion, so you probably liked Conquest more than Birthright and Revelation. I'm sorry for getting on this big off topic rant about why I related to Corrin, especially in Conquest. It ate at my soul. I preferred the happy vibes of Revelation because at least everyone has a happy ending at the end. Nohr and Hoshido's new kings vow to keep peace between their Kingdoms. I believe that Revelation is the Canonical end to Fates.

I actually really like using sorcerer Leo with nosferatu. Of all the magic characters I use, he has the lowest speed, so the 'no follow up attacks' from nosferatu is less of a hit, and he has enough res and (in some playthroughs) defence that with nosferatu's health drain he can take a good number of hits in a single turn without dying. I've had him absorb ten or so attacks in one enemy phase multiple times with no issue. He's definitely my favourite and most used royal haha.

Hinoka leaves me torn. I like the character, but have to admit she doesn't play much of a role. I mean in Conquest she becomes Queen at the end with both of her brothers dead but that's just to cap off the story and not a role we get to see her in. But for some reason she's still one of my favorite characters in Fates, I think largely because of her backstory. Where Corrin's kidnapping was a pivotal moment for her that lead to her learning to fight, changing her life in a major way, where as I didn't get the same feeling from the other Hoshido siblings. And it's Hinoka in particular that hits me in the feels when I start up a new Conquest play through, to have her finally reunited with Corrin only to immediately have Corrin side with Nohr.

One of my closest friends told me that I am almost exactly like how Takumi is. Despite being Inferior to all my friends in gaming, I still attempt to do my best. However, while I may be able to complete a *using Feh as an example* Legendary Hero Battle on Abyssal in like 15 tries, a friend of mine beats it in like 2 or 3 tries. Also, Betrayal is also something I loathe, as another one of my friends betrayed my trust back while I was in High School. (Way before Fates even existed). When he returned to the friend group, i was the LAST person to actually trust him. It's kinda why I show more favoritism with Fates, Conquest as the Corrupted Takumi, or in Heroes case, Fallen Takumi, I feel like I am represented so perfectly in a Fire Emblem game. *I'm still annoyed there are no Fire Emblem Heroes with my name though. (Come On IS, give us a male unit with the name Alexander... it's a common-ass name for gods sake)

Because all the cool kids are doing it: 10. Elise - She is BY FAR the most annoying character in the game, with the most standout moment being her cutscene in Revelations (I can't stand her constant giggling). As much as I dislike Camilla's fanservicey design, at least she isn't an ACTUAL LITTLE GIRL that you can marry for some ungodly reason. Her only redeemable feature is that she's a good unit. 9. Azura - While some of her supports have slightly redeemed her character, her writing in the story is just awful (I can't stand characters that are mysterious seemingly just for the sake for being mysterious). She isn't even that great of a refresher unit, since she dies in about two hits. 8. Corrin - Do I really need to explain? They get number 8 just because Female Corrin has a good design. 7. Camilla - Terrible design (I'm not opposed to fanservice characters as long as they're somewhat tasteful about it. Seriously, why does she have to have her chest and crotch area fully exposed?), way too obsessed with Corrin (though not as bad as Tharja), and just not very interesting, aside from a few supports. Good unit though. 6. Hinoka - She is nothing. She isn't even that good of a unit and I can't think of any standout supports involving her. The only reason she is at number 6 is because I don't actively dislike her. 5. Ryoma - Yeah, in retrospect, he really isn't a very interesting character outside of a few supports. Though I can't deny how much fun he is to use with his constant stream of crits. 4. Xander - He's a really interesting character in his supports and Conquest, as well as a high tier unit, but his insane devotion to the totally not evil, good guy Garon is just idiotic. It doesn't ruin his character for me, but it does bring him down. 3. Sakura - She is how you do a cute princess character in this game RIGHT (Take notes Elise). Plus, she looks like she could actually pass for a ~16 year old in this artstyle, so I feel less weird about having her s-support compared to Elise. I find a lot of her supports to be really fun to read and she can be quite competent in combat. 1 & 2. Leo and Takumi - I can't really decide who I like more between these two. Takumi is the slightly better unit, but overall, Leo is a more solid character (though Takumi in Conquest is really interesting). All in all, the Royals are definitely interesting, though most of them don't come close to being among my favorite units in Fates.

I'm only giving top 3 for now 3. Xander Amazing defense and takes 0 damage from just about any physical unit if given tonics, amazing personal weapon granting him 1-2 range and a ridiculous amount of defense by just having it in his inventory and then giving him a naginata, high move, shelter, high attack, despite what people say he doesn't have a bad speed stat 2. Ryoma Removes any challenge birthright has by being absolutely broken with an amazing personal weapon, amazing bases, amazing growths, the ability to dodge tank, can one shot just about every unit in the game, 1-2 range, doubles everything 1. Camilla By far the best unit in conquest and possibly all of fates. Extremely early availability, amazing bases, amazing growths, flying utility, great personal skill, one shots just about every unit, pre promoted so u don't need to use a master seal, can choose to target defense or Res when attacking. She has 0 flaws, 1-2 range with magic, doubles everything

10)Corrin (although a fun unit Corrin really has nothing else going for him)9) Hinoka (Hinoka is a powerful fighter , but she doesn’t really have much else going for her, her lack of presence puts her over Corrin)8)Azura , she’s a good unit , but her character is extremely boring but at least exists7) Camilla , one of the best units in the game , with a somewhat irritating personality she at least has a personality 6) Sakura, she isn’t the best healer but she is alright, we finally get to characters with interesting personality 5) Ryoma, while easily one of the strongest units in the game , his character is not as good as it could be 4)Elise, one of if not the best healer in the game, Elise is a cinnamon nuke sweet roll2 and 3) Xander and Takumi are equally great in different ways while both are exceptional units each brings their own personality to the game and I adore them both1) Leo is not the best royal but he’s still one of the best units in the game and his character is easily one of my favorites from fates
