Yup, the convicts cry because they realize they're not invincible. They think they won't get caught, but they did. They cry because they find out that their justifications for what they did isn't actually right. They cry for THEIR freedom/the life they lost after being sentenced. I recently watched a doc on women's prisons in Indiana. They featured a baby killer by the name of Dawn Hopkins. Dawn goes into this sob story how she was 25 and threw her life away. She doesn't refer to the fact that she threw her son's life away. Some may also not realize the severity of their crimes, like a car accident can turn into vehicle manslaughter. I saw another clip where two parents starved their baby to death and got life without parole. The father was absolutely stunned. I think the tears also their desperate attempt to have damage control/save face. They're trying to get sympathy so that the court will go easier on them. It has nothing to do with feeling sympathy for their victim or feeling remorse for their wrongs. That's why they cry AFTER they've been caught. I do believe sentencing should include all factors, however, if there's self-defense involved, how cooperative the suspect is, the severity of the crimes, if they're a first-time offender, and so on. So, I do believe in genuine mistakes and second chances, but those can be taken advantage of + gotta be careful. In my own personal life, I've had some people who have been utter jerks, and they've had chances to be accountable on their own, to adjust their behavior. That's being genuine! But then, once they get into trouble + get caught, they start pretending to be sorry. I'm thinkin', "Nah, you're having a pity party for yourself and pretending that you care so that others will go easier on you. You had your chance." At that point, I'm done, and I'll cut those people off. The relationship is forever tainted. Because if you go easy on them for something that crosses a deep line, they'll just do it again. And of course, some crimes deserve no second chances.

Some of these kids are better off without the father in the picture because of his history.

Yes! We should have cameras in courts. I've never been to a prison but videos about prisons and prisoners has taught me to always think things through before acting regardless of what happened/who's at fault and if I ever get provoked the best thing is to leave the spot, even if it makes me look like a coward... And frankly, I'd rather be seen as a coward (with freedom) than brave but in jail.

Why do people suddenly become sociopaths when they log on the internet? Really? You get your kicks by seeing people have their lives ruined? You get your laughs and giggles seeings mothers hearts break as they watch their children get thrown in prison for decades? I don't deny these people deserve what they got, they absolutely do, 100000%. But at the core, it's still the pain and suffering of another Human Being. Non-sociopaths would understand that.

Yes, cameras should be in court rooms, for most cases. Here in the US the public is allowed to view court cases. Now that our population is so large, there is no way all the people interested in the cases can go to the court. Public trials are an important way of, not only hearing the case, but also making sure the cases are handled properly. We have the right to view most trials, but no longer have the ability for everyone interested to be able to go to the court. It is also important that the people know what is happening, and not rely on the media to feed us their versions of the events.
@vermilliongecko
@vermilliongecko 5 жыл бұрын
I do take your point, but I find it rather disturbing that these court hearings are often shared online as entertainment. (You could ask why I'm watching this video, but it just rolled onto this one from a previous video from the same channel and I couldn't be bothered to change it.) UK courts don't show footage, but reporting IS accurate. I do wish we had photos instead of those 'artist's impressions' though.

I just had to put my pooch down from diabetes. That mutt had more character than all of congress. ( Which really isn't saying much). So I got a thing for pets, especially pups. Their only goal in life is to make sure you're satisfied with their loyalty. I'll say this. If I find out anyone causes any dog any unnecessary pain or mental anguish lessening their sense of self value, I'm going to apply effort in lessening their value to themselves and others. Dogs do their best to keep their owners as happy as they can and cruelty is NOT the payoff they deserve.

What really bothers me is that the convicted criminals are usually with a background filled with violence, drugs and other crimes while the lawyers and judges mostly come from an educated family with more chances to develop and strive. It's hard to see them looking down on people who could have done better if they would have had the same environment growing up.

She's just upset because she thought there wouldn't be consequences for treating people like that.

Yeah, there should be cameras in court rooms and they should be shown in High School kids to shown consequence. None of these people seemed to think that anything was going to happen to them. Statistically, human being have around the same IQ. with a small percentage extremely smart and those that are extremely done. So these people male or female or either extremely stupid or they were not educated appropriately on consequence. Which do you think it is? Hard to watch but better for everyone.

Let me say this about the racist couple: if she was so got damn sorry, they wouldn't have went to a damn 8 yr old bday party and not only call them the N word, but what you didn't report was they also had shotguns and were pointing them at the children and parents there and threatening to kill them as well. Listening to you trying to defend her saying she sounded like she was really sorry, I say F that BS, they get NO SYMPATHY FOR ISH! They only sorry that they got caught!! They thought their white privilege would hold up and thought they would get a slap on the wrist. Utmost respect to that judge for showing those racist individuals they can't do whatever they wanted and get away with it.

There no white privileges, also their parents fail rising them right why because I'm white and I rise right also I don't trust to many people I only choose a few friends that I knew, I also have a black friend who use to live in Africa and we are always play rock, paper and scissors for cleaning up the bathroom, I lost but I didn't killed him because I'm not that kind of person, but I would killed if someone hurt my family and my friends.

0:22 For gender equality, of course. Men shouldn’t be the only ones getting life (without parole) or death, or even a big sentence (an X-amount of years) for committing heinous crimes. Women want to be treated equally, right? Well, one way of proving that is by the prisoning sentences being as the most severe for men 🤷🏻‍♀️
