Yup, the convicts cry because they realize they're not invincible. They think they won't get caught, but they did. They cry because they find out that their justifications for what they did isn't actually right. They cry for THEIR freedom/the life they lost after being sentenced. I recently watched a doc on women's prisons in Indiana. They featured a baby killer by the name of Dawn Hopkins. Dawn goes into this sob story how she was 25 and threw her life away. She doesn't refer to the fact that she threw her son's life away. Some may also not realize the severity of their crimes, like a car accident can turn into vehicle manslaughter. I saw another clip where two parents starved their baby to death and got life without parole. The father was absolutely stunned. I think the tears also their desperate attempt to have damage control/save face. They're trying to get sympathy so that the court will go easier on them. It has nothing to do with feeling sympathy for their victim or feeling remorse for their wrongs. That's why they cry AFTER they've been caught. I do believe sentencing should include all factors, however, if there's self-defense involved, how cooperative the suspect is, the severity of the crimes, if they're a first-time offender, and so on. So, I do believe in genuine mistakes and second chances, but those can be taken advantage of + gotta be careful. In my own personal life, I've had some people who have been utter jerks, and they've had chances to be accountable on their own, to adjust their behavior. That's being genuine! But then, once they get into trouble + get caught, they start pretending to be sorry. I'm thinkin', "Nah, you're having a pity party for yourself and pretending that you care so that others will go easier on you. You had your chance." At that point, I'm done, and I'll cut those people off. The relationship is forever tainted. Because if you go easy on them for something that crosses a deep line, they'll just do it again. And of course, some crimes deserve no second chances.
@yukisanscorner35823 жыл бұрын

I wonder if the emotional, crying parents of the sick criminals are in tears over the fact that their child's chances at having a good life is completely tarnished OR over the fact that THEY created these abominations of society and feel a GREAT deal of guilt, regret, embarrassment and responsibility over their seed's actions? I go for the later.

Rozetta Vyper I seriously doubt it. If you can find longer clips of the reactions, you'll hear "s/he didn't even do nuffin. Let my baby go. Lowdy Lowdy, not my baby"... And on and on.. Why do people suddenly become sociopaths when they log on the internet? Really? You get your kicks by seeing people have their lives ruined? You get your laughs and giggles seeings mothers hearts break as they watch their children get thrown in prison for decades? I don't deny these people deserve what they got, they absolutely do, 100000%. But at the core, it's still the pain and suffering of another Human Being. Non-sociopaths would understand that.

Yes, cameras should be in court rooms, for most cases. Here in the US the public is allowed to view court cases. Now that our population is so large, there is no way all the people interested in the cases can go to the court. Public trials are an important way of, not only hearing the case, but also making sure the cases are handled properly. We have the right to view most trials, but no longer have the ability for everyone interested to be able to go to the court. It is also important that the people know what is happening, and not rely on the media to feed us their versions of the events.
@vermilliongecko5 жыл бұрын
I do take your point, but I find it rather disturbing that these court hearings are often shared online as entertainment. (You could ask why I'm watching this video, but it just rolled onto this one from a previous video from the same channel and I couldn't be bothered to change it.) UK courts don't show footage, but reporting IS accurate. I do wish we had photos instead of those 'artist's impressions' though.

The one crying saying her husband broke her leg is wearing what is called a "suicide smock" here in the states. They take your clothes so you cannot use them to take your own life, put you in that smock (which can't be ripped or used to take ones own life) and put them in a different and more bare cell and they are watched more closely then a regular prisoner.

Their only goal in life is to make sure you're satisfied with their loyalty. I'll say this. If I find out anyone causes any dog any unnecessary pain or mental anguish lessening their sense of self value, I'm going to apply effort in lessening their value to themselves and others. Dogs do their best to keep their owners as happy as they can and cruelty is NOT the payoff they deserve.

What really bothers me is that the convicted criminals are usually with a background filled with violence, drugs and other crimes while the lawyers and judges mostly come from an educated family with more chances to develop and strive.
