Probably a few too many long words for you. It's a bit more sophisticated than Stephen King and you know how you struggle with decent literature

Love your videos. I have been a King fan since Carrie. I am back to reading him but missed a few decades….. you inspired me.

Hugely relatable video. It isn’t that I dislike the books I’m reading even! It’s more that I get interested in something else instead. Hope you find the time to finish these titles!

I picked up Dune without knowing much of anything about the plot and did not know what to expect. It was tough to finish because it was so slow. I've grown to enjoy the story more and I think an audio version would be a great way to reread it.

I’m currently on book 3 of the Dune series and I enjoy them very much! I hope you can get through the series and enjoy them because I would love to hear your feedback and your thoughts of the story since the books are very complex

I am a little disgruntled about having to go back through 700 pages that I already read but I'd rather restart it so that I get the full experience.

its best to read something completely different after a long book. especially epic fantasy, or you could get burned out.

This is a decent list. The Three Body Problem and its two sequels are among my favourite sci fi novels, along with the Revelation Space series. I also never finished Dune and plan to read it next year.

That's funny, I stopped reading Moby Dick in the EXACT same spot and had a similar issue with the language. An extremely difficult read.

"The Count of Monte Cristo" sounds like my current experience with "The Brothers Karamazov". A friend read TBK and was very much affected by the book and wanted to talk about it with someone so I gave it a try. I can read only a few pages at a time as there is so much in the book: so many ideas; so many characters and stories, even stories about minor characters who appear once. It take so long to get to any action. If I wasn't doing this for a friend I'd put aside "The Brothers Karamzov" though I know i'm reading something exceptional.---I once read, back in high school, a short-story version "Flowers of Algernon". Maybe the story was expanded into a novel? I had a brother with Down Syndrome who is now deceased. "Flowers for Algernon" is now too close to home, too upsetting for me to read again in either form. As with "Flowers..." I had that same experience of enjoying a book but not finishing it: I was reading and enjoying "Jane Eyre" years ago, got sidetracked by something and never went back to it. I may just add Miss Bronte's book to the books I want to read in the near future!

I will never understand why people are boycotting Rowling left, right and sideways for her transphobia - rightly so - but with his history of homophobia Brandon Sanderson is still such a hero to everyone. Sad. Just discovered your channel tonight, was super-enjoying this post and about to subscribe ... until learning you support homophbic authors. Oh, well.

I read Dune and hated it. It's an impressive job of world-building, but it's boring and gave me nothing to care about. I can see why people respect it, but, nope, hated it. And I really wanted to like it -- even bought a leatherbound copy.
