My fish love NLS. Sometimes they get it soaked in garlic guard but most of the time straight from the jar. Once a week I feed Hikari coral gumbo mixed in with some reef roids to my corals. Awesome stuff!

Hi I am wanting to try salt water coral tank so How do you feed corals?
@Hondasonatta6 жыл бұрын
I agree rod's food is awesome. But I think just selling to local fish stores is the draw back. On line it says that a package is around $15 but by selling to local fish stores seems like they just run up the price stores in my area don't sell any of them for less than $27-$30 a package

Noob just starting a 50 gallon fish only tank (dry rock and crushed coral). I have the all in one filtration/skimmer system built into the tank so I know I can not go full bio hazard and stack plenty of fish. My biggest problem is I will only be able to do maintenance on weekends most times because of travel and I will have to depend on my wife to feed the fish (shudders) I have 4 Banner cardinals, 1 lawnmower blenny, 1 orchid dottyback, 2 false perculla clowns, 2 cleaner shrimp, 5 blue leg hermits, 5 turbo snails in QT that I will be adding into the tank after it cycles. So I am willing to spend up to $150 a month on food and I would love to know the best food to cycle throughout the week or somewhere I can go look that info up. Most information I come across is not hardy fish only set ups so I can not find any good stuff. Out of all of the sites I have visited I have only subbed to your channel because I think you give the best and easiest to follow info out there for a new guy. Keep up the good work.

Why do you say LRS food should be used as a treat and not all the time? I've been using it almost daily while mixing in PE mysis and flakes.
@NationalReefing6 жыл бұрын
#9, #8, #5 & #1 were the only brands I have yet to try... My auto-feeder staples are PE mysis, Cobalt spirulina flake food and New Life Spectrum's Finicky Fish Formula. Good video!

Almost all these foods have way to much protein, garlic, and or fillers making our fish fat and unhealthy. Not to mention the way they make these foods cooks most of the stuff out and they have to add stuff back into it. Americanaquariumproducts.com has a couple vids of what when and why to feed. Unlike most ppl / channels on KZbin they have facts that prove what they are saying and they don’t sell stuff just because they get a better kickback from a company.

Your take on LRS isn't true. I use LRS 3x a day without "junking up" the water. It is actually far less wasteful and nutrient adding than either pellet or flake ans cleaner than Rod's. I have actually used both.
