Smells great just gives me a headache every time unfortunately. I had to sell. I also get a headache with YSL Y EDP, Light Blue Intense, and Profondo. I have about 20 other fragrances which I’m fine with, so although I’m prone I’m not massively prone. Maybe those ones share a sharp chemical or something? (I know Layton is probably mostly natural ingredients). Scent wise though Layton is great. I guess I just have an unfortunate experience with it.

Just managed to pick up a 100ML bottle of The One Luminous Night for just 112USD at the Palma airport tax-free. Absolutely blew my mind indeed! For me, few fragrances can genuenly compete with The One EDP (not taking performance into account) but this one definitely does it well.

Tom Ford Noir extreme is a great fragrance but has many similarities to spicebomb extreme. Fahrenheit parfum blew my mind.

I need to acquire at least a sample of Dior Homme Intense, even though I have at least ten fragrances that I have never opened. The Cartier L'Envol was on my radar two months ago but I never picked it up. My birthday is December 25th so I always get something new from either family, friends and ex's as well. The one with the cherry tobacco type vibe sounds interesting as well, thanks again for your perspectives Ash.

I think a lot of people cut their Tom Ford teeth on Noir Extreme because it’s so likable and it’s one of the most affordable and usually available at discounters. Easy to like and just unique enough.

In my opinion, Explorer is more of a warm weather scent. I like loud smells during thr cold, so I don't really rotate Explorer in those months.

Dior Homme Intense blew my mind in a bad way, thankfully I only bought a $2.99 sample. It truly did smell like lipstick on the drydown. I hadn't even seen or read any reviews prior to buying and spraying it so I wasn't biased. The spray on smelled like a wet rock. I knew I didn't like it, so I had my wife smell the drydown on my arm and she says: "Oh no, most definitely not." It smelled like something an old woman would wear - certainly not for me. Word to the wise - sample it first. Oh, and I would like to thank the ladies down in Miami (you know who you are!) for coming through with the unopened Luminous Night for a very decent price.

I had the exact same experience it reminds me of smelling my mothers make-up bag when I was a little kid. Just straight lip stick smell and the few times I have worn it.....I have asked women what they think and they all say it smells like an old lady.

Go with azzaro. Blind but worthy. Le male parfum is very very powdery and unisex. Ultra male is a lot better imho.
