Not entirely correct... they were available in limited places since the '40's & '50's... they exploded in popularity in the '60's and became a "staple" coming in to the '70's... remember, to be a "staple" means widespread acceptance and considered a large part of dietary usage... the microwave oven was one of the strongest proponents in boosting the frozen dinner to that level due to the ease of use and reduced cooking times...

Corn dogs were invented in 1941, for the Minnesota State Fair, right here in the good old USA...Don't know where the English pub owner stole them from 21 years later, but he didn't invent them.

Gee, that's odd.... Because they were patented in 1927.... The first commercial appearance was in 1926. And since they were created by german immigrants in Texas, they could date back as far as the 1830s. Most likely, though, it was around 1900.

From what I've gathered, Pogo is the brand name from ConAgra, and established in the early 60s in Canada. Corn dogs themselves are from the early 1900s in Texas. I don't know where the British pub claim came from, but they were patented in the US in 1927.

I buy Lean Cuisine meals. When I first bought them, when they first came out, they were pretty good. Then the “reduce sodium” initiative came along and they complied. Still decent tasting. Now I recently noticed that the sodium levels are increasing A LOT. Some entrees by a unnecessary 300 mgs or more! Like the Salisbury meatloaf and Mashed potatoes. Went from 540 to 870 mgs. It now tastes salty! Yuk! I’m a label reader, because we watch our sodium intake. I won’t be buying all of these LC meals anymore.

My mom worked and retired from Nestlé (stouffers) I've eaten everything they have to offer. Their best item is, French Bread pizza. It wasn't available for many years & they finally brought it back awhile ago!!!

Nestle packs as much sodium as ConAgra, both are dangerous for anyone who is hypertensive. These two companies make the majority of high sodium processed frozen food. Check out the ingredients on Stouffers. Many of them are toxic. They are loaded with sodium and corn syrup too. :((

I LOVE HungryMan's Beer Battered Chicken with the mixed veggies, mashed potatoes and the dessert! I also loved that Swanson's fried chicken one! HungryMan's makes a similar one in classic and also spicy! I love Stouffers Lasanga and their mac and cheese as well. :)

I grew up with Swanson and Hungry Man when they came in aluminum trays and you cooked them in your oven. We called them TV Dinners back then. And we would have a tray and sit in front of the TV and and out TV Dinners. Forgot - the other brand was Banquet. :)

No, one thing that I noticed was that on the Banquet TV dinners, it says "Now made with real cream or real cheese" it just makes me wonder what the hell was it made out of before then??? That, in my opinion, was stupid to put on your packaging because I'm sure I'm not the only one who questioned that. But yeah, I don't care, I think the Hungry Man TV dinners especially the chicken fingers one and the Marie Calander's TV dinners especially the honey chicken one are really, really good.

I use to LOVE stoufers lasanya. Alot. I heard they changed the recipe in 2016. I don't care for it anymore. Im not sure if its because my taste buds changed or the new recipe. I do agree with the stouffers mac n cheese. I always keep several in the freezer (but i add more cheese) lol

My favorite is the Stouffer’s Mac and Cheese. That was a staple of my childhood. Many a Saturday night dinner when I was little and my parents were leaving my sister and me with a babysitter while they went out with friends was this Mac and cheese with Perdue chicken nuggets in the shape of drum sticks and stars. My favorite childhood combination.

My favorites...hungry man Mexican with enchiladas, stouffers turkey, stouffers meatloaf (large size for both) stouffers Swedish meatballs, Trader Joe’s turkey Bologna’s spaghetti sauce, Trader Joe’s Mac and cheese, Marie Callender’s pot pies but cook them in the oven instead of microwave. We're making turkey enchiladas right now. Ha. I'm one of those people that really don't like ready made meals like Hungry Man. I tried my 1st TV dinner in my 20's. NO. The exception is lasagna. It takes 2 hours to cook from frozen. So, it's not a 'convience meal'. But, the frozen lasagna is awesome!!

Since I now live alone , I can't justify "cooking for one" , most of the time . I will usually opt for a frozen dinner of some kind , favoring Banquet most of the time . I prefer cooking home made foods when I can but my favorite frozen meals will probably always be mac n' cheese. Other favorites of mine include 'Devour' brand, in particular Chicken Codon Bleu Mac n' cheese and Pesto Ravioli with Italian Sausage. Boston Market and Marie Calendar also have some decent selections. The only Hungry Man selection I like is the backyard BBQ with pork and chicken...at least the meat is decent. The sides taste like plastic and need butter, cheese and/or spices added to save them. The problem with most frozen pizzas is that the crust is almost un-edible. I will usually add extra cheeses, bake and then eat what I can of the crust and then scrape off and eat the toppings to finish it off. *Entertaining video as always BabbleTop!

Hmm...I have already seen this one (and gave it a thumbs up). I enjoy your videos BabbleTop, but this time 'round a question popped into my cranium: Do the manufacturers of these products pay you to provide such glowing reviews? The reason I ask is because I eat a lot of these very meals because I live alone and am not much of a cook. I also have a disability that makes it painful to stand for more than a few minutes. Hey, the microwave was even named after me (mike-ro-wave 😁). And while some, if not most, of these frozen dinners are better than the rest as they say, many of them are just passable. Hey Stouffers, I do like your products! Just letting you know that I can be bought! I will sing the praises for some delicious Stouffers food...especially the new Diner Classics! Yumm! No really.
