Although it was dumb on Sarah’s part, I think her and Tony always planned to take each other to the end regardless of them being each others biggest competition. Tony was the biggest threat, but she never had intentions to get him out. If she did want Tony out, I definitely think she would’ve kept Ben over Michele. I think she was just hoping either her or Tony would win final immunity and go to the end together

I think ultimately Sarah was too concerned her game lacked a big move and she figured turning on Ben was the best way to do that. Unfortunately, it’s easy to miscalculate how that move may have hurt her more than helped her. Ben encouraging her to make the move obviously did not help matters, but clearly this all happened more because Sarah didn’t think her game could help her win on its own once Natalie put it in her head that Tony was being seen as the most likely to win! If Sarah took a step back and thought more about making it to Final 3 over taking out a threat, she would have realized her best bet was in fact taking out Michelle!

Yeah, that move will always baffle me not just because it made way too much sense but because Natalie somehow thought she could win the game without taking Tony on. Natalie by contrast thought she could beat Tony even if he made it to the end, which was beyond ridiculous. @JRJuggernaut1 Жыл бұрын
@@NYChica23 yeah, that last detail often gets overlooked but it needs to be said, the jury overall probably respected Michelle’s game more than Natalie’s and they were so concerned about making sure Natalie did not win that Michelle wound up with no votes even though they felt she deserved second place over Natalie! Chris really did make some good connections on the Edge and the jury was clearly hoping he would make a big impact once he got back into the game. He just had to make a big move and present his case, which even then he knew wasn’t a guarantee. Chris played a good game, but he also could have easily lost if his final tribal opponents were stronger than Gavin or Julie! Natalie by contrast really lacked a good perception of her position in the game, and it was borderline delusional thinking that she thought she could claim she played the best game without making any truly big moves (after being eliminated first), and against the person who ran the game pretty much from start to finish! The fact that she somewhat expected to win over Tony given the holes in her game was bizarre to watch unfold.

I never thought Colby made a bad move, taking Tina to the end. Back in the early days of Survivor (when there was a lot more focus on the SURVIVAL component of Survivor), a lot of people were out there for the ADVENTURE, and didn't really care about playing a social-strategic game. The finale of winners at war had SO MANY BLUNDERS. Here's a reddit comment I wrote about it: Nat and Michele didn't do a single "social" move to make it go from 4-2 to 2-1 (and played each of the 3 elimination rounds badly) At final 6 Michele and Nat both had immunity, so 1 of the 4 HAD to go. They made the decision to vote for Ben which was a blunder because it doesn't guarantee that they flush Tony's idol. Then on the revote they decided to agree to vote out Denise instead of Sarah which was ALSO a blunder, because they had a better chance of beating Denise at the final 3. At the final 5, Nat found and misplayed an idol which can also be considered a blunder, but got bailed out because Ben gave up to guarantee that Sarah makes it to the final 4. (I think it's also noting that voting for Ben in this spot is a blunder for Nat and Michele because they have a better chance at beating Ben than Sarah at final 3, so a better move would've been to vote for Sarah and hope that they play the idol correctly, and then out Tony and Ben into fire at 4) At the final 4, Nat won immunity and made the blunder of putting Sarah against Tony instead of putting herself in fire, basically giving her 0% chance of winning. To recap, I'd argue all 5 of these moves were MISTAKES that lowered their chances of winning: Didn't guarantee a flush of Tony's idol at final 6 (potentially guarantee's Tony a spot in final 4) Voted for Denise over Sarah at final 6 revote (they have a better chance at beating Denise at the end) Misplayed an idol at final 5 (Looks bad to the jury, doesn't allow them to choose if they want Sarah or Ben out) Voted for Ben over Sarah at 5 (they have a better chance at beating Ben at the end AND Ben has a higher chance of beating Tony at fire) Put Tony and Sarah into fire against each other (Didn't take the risk of going into fire against Tony, which is exactly what the jury wanted to see) Watching the finale live, I was seriously in awe at how many mistakes it seemed Nat and Michele were making as they reached the end.

@JRJuggernaut1 Жыл бұрын
I thought this at one point too, except the problem is Jesse was kind of forced in a corner no matter what, he really had no great way of getting to the end and winning. If he keeps Cody around than he has to hope Cody is taken out at final 4, which can go a number of different ways depending on who makes it to that point. If he takes Cody out at final 5 then everything plays out the same as what actually happened. Jesse’s problem wasn’t that he choked per se, it’s more that he had no way to put himself in a position to win without also putting a big target on himself in the process. I can’t think of a way that Jesse could have won without taking Cody out, hence why I think Jesse did what he could given the circumstances!

@@JRJuggernaut1 I think there was one possible way out of the corner for him, and that was not turning Karla and Cassidy against each other at final 5, but doing it at final 4. Voting Karla out was pretty much his doing, Cassidy and Karla weren't thinking about their similar resumes at that point yet. So if he could team up with them to get Gabler out at final 5, and then convince them they shouldn't take each other to the FTC because of the similar resumes, he would've made fire against either Karla or Cassidy, which is a better chance than winning fire against Gabler.

I disagree that Cirie definitely wins a final 2. Let's look at a scenario in which she takes Amanda. Amanda automatically gets Ozzy, James and Parvati's votes. Which means Cirie needs to get the other 5. Now I'll admit she most likely get Natalie and Alexis's votes and certainly gets Erik and Eliza's votes. However, people actually overlook how Jason would have voted. Jason really liked Amanda and I think had more respect for her due to challenge wins. Against Parvati is another interesting scenerio. She gets Erik and Eliza for sure. Parvati gets Amanda and Jason for sure. Parvati felt very confident that Alexis and Natalie would have voted for her over Cirie, despite what they may say after. James and Ozzy also claimed they weren't as bitter towards Parvati as they played up and really were just trying to help Amanda look better. It's very possible we get a tie in either scenerio which would have been crazy. What's crazy is that if Jeremy didn't win immunity. Wentworth may have won the game, he probally goes home as Spencer said he wanted to sit next to her and not Jeremy. Really comes down to if Tasha forces a tie or not. Rob made a mistake, not a choke. Too early to say he choked. A lot could have happened at 5, 4 and 3. This move also could have been corrected the very next tribal if he voted out Jenna instead of Heidi. I facepalmed so hard when Devens did that. He just needed to tell him it made no sense for him to do it and held onto the idol. Honestly, it's the worst move on this list. Like with Cesternino, I feel it's a little to early to say this happens and it's hard to say if Fairplay actually wins against Burton or Lil as much as I'd like to have seen him do it. A lot could have happened. Sarah's issue was she wanted to sit next to who she knew was her biggest competition. She made a promise to the girls at the previous tribal she wouldn't vote against them if they saved her. Sarah made that promise knowing Tony would be voted out at 5 if he didn't win. The problem is, he did. So she either has to break her word and most certainly lose to Tony if she sits next to him (who I think she never was going to eliminate) or she had to put the correct people on the jury. Ben was another vote for her and she most likely gets either of the girls the next vote. Sarah made constant mistakes all season that showed she's not an elite player, but I understand why she did what she did. She made that decision based on friendship and emotion. Rafe's decision still baffles me to this day. One of the worst moves ever that still doesn't get talked about enough. You know Kass is somewhat responsible for Woo's decision. She told him earlier in the game that he was their Russell. She basically called him a goat. Woo must have felt it didn't matter who he took and took his friend to get that 100k.

Here’s some more that I can think of: 1. Heidi not voting for Carolyn at the F6- Had she done that, it would’ve been a tied vote between Jaime and Carolyn, with Carolyn going on the revote, Yam Yam goes at 5, Carson goes at 4(with Heidi beating him in fire), and more than likely she wins the game in the F3. 2. Lindsay not playing her idol on Omar at the F6- Had she done that, she could’ve had a shield at the F5 in Omar, in which he goes at 5, and if she wins F4 immunity/wins fire, from what I heard, she wins the game. 3. Ricard blindsiding Shan at the F8, instead of blindsiding Deshawn or Danny at that particular round- Had he gotten rid of Deshawn in the F8 with him getting Shan and Liana on board, he has a good shot at winning based on the circumstances surrounding his game 4. Jesse spooking Karla into wasting her idol, and I’m not saying blindsiding Cody was a bad move at all, due to the fact that he wins against Jesse, it’s just the execution of that move is where he really messed up. Cause he had not played the idol on Owen, Karla’s not playing her idol, Cody still goes home, and at F5, he and Karla could’ve bluff their idols, resulting in the majority turning on each other, with Gabler going after Cassidy and Cassidy and Owen going after Gabler, and they can use it as a opportunity to take out Cassidy at F5, and since Jesse was close at winning the F4 immunity challenge, he likely wins without Cassidy being there, and therefore he’s pretty much given the win no matter what happens at the F4. 5. Cassidy not taking the shot to take out Jesse at fire making. The main difference between the fire making situation in 44 compared to the situation in 43 is that Heidi in 44 was losing a he game regards of what happened due to the blunder that she made in the F6, whilst in 43, I think Cassidy could’ve gotten Jeanine’s, Noelle’s, and Sami’s votes alongside James’ vote, which can result in a 4-4 tie between her and Gabler, in which Owen would break the tie to give Cassidy the win.
@yellercat500cat7 Жыл бұрын
1 2 and 4 are correct, though hard to say what Cass, Owen and Gabler go if that’s the case. I’d argue 3 is more of a blunder on Danny and Deshawns part than Ricard. Shan needed to go but if you take out Erika first, if she didn’t win immunity, Shan goes next followed be a combination of Liana, Ricard, and Zander/Heather. Sadly I don’t see Ricard winning after Shan goes unless he immunities out. Danny and Deshawn can with wiggle room. Cass pretty much nuked any small chance she had at FTC. Plus Gabler put on a good FTC performance, plus Sami is way closer to him than Cass

Surpised Kathy isn't meantioned for Marquesas. Similiar final 5 situation as many in this video: side with a tight pair (pascal & neleh) or vote out a "free agent" in sean. Sean rubbed people so wrong that i think he is probably a 0 vote finalist. By voting sean at 5, it set up the dangerous rock pull at 4 after V wins immunity, and then V wins immunity again at 3 which knocks her out. Not sure that V doesnt win those challenges still even with sean, but the f5 vote was a head scratcher from kathy.
@craigresendes2403 Жыл бұрын
Because the Final 4 was the Fallen Comrades, Vee was always going to win because of her notebook (underrated strategic/social genius play), and I’d argue Vee wins at 3 since Kathy fell off first and she would’ve taken Sean for an arguably easy win. I don’t think Kathy choked there because she was most likely destined for 3rd place always. She would have needed to remove one half of each duo in order to win the game, and I don’t see a world where Sean’s voted out in 4th.
@spencerclark4726 Жыл бұрын
I think Kathy's game was doomed at F5 no matter how she voted - either way there'd be one "strong unbreakable pair" left at F4 meaning Kathy would've needed the other remaining non-pair member gone at F4 AND Kathy would've needed to win F3 immunity. I know Kathy gets an amazing glowing edit and was super popular with fans, but honestly she's basically the original Shambo - aka a super cooky older lady who set herself up (entirely of her own free will) to be in the worst position possible come the endgame. I think there's a solid possibility that Kathy is in one of the all time worst-positions she could've been in at that Final Five. Also, when it became about race, she probably got spooked into not-siding with V/Sean.

Yeah, Malcolm 100% fumbles at F5 in Philippines - he could've taken out any target besides Abi, and his chances of winning go way up. I'd also say Malcolm fumbles hard at the Three Amigos double idol play in Caramoan too, the three of them should've voted amongst themselves (guaranteeing 100% of votes voided causing a revote) and kept their idols/vote target a secret - then at the revote, intentionally have all three of them vote for three separate targets and hope the chaos of the revote would be enough to cause irreprable cracks in the majority alliance regardless of who goes - instead they announced their plan to the world, and got out the figurehead who wasn't actually running the show. Malcolm's just a really really bad Survivor player across the board, and people overlook this because he's cute and nice and gets a lot of confessionals. One thing i'll add to the Rob C. fumble is that he's basically the original Russell Hantz - his whole endgame strategy (for most of the season) involved him thinking he could take the "dumb girls" to the end as easy goats. He thought Jenna would be an easy win (even though he knew Deena only wanted to vote for a woman, and that Heidi / Alex / David all absolutely adored Jenna) - Rob's no dumb-dumb, he surely considered the possibility of lying to Jenna/Heidi to secure a 3-2-1 vote if he was truly worried about a Christy-induced rockdraw. MAYBE he felt that Matthew and Butch were so incompetent that there'd be zero possibility of keeping this plan a secret, but I really do think his path is to take out Jenna at 6 then Heidi at 5 and Christy at 4. Another huge dropped ball, but one that I don't hold against her because it would've required lightning fast reflexes and mental acuity that I doubt she had from the malnutrition and stress, is Jaclyn at F5 in SJDS. She knew that she was the target and yet Nat threw her a bone to take out Bailey - Jac could've reasonably assumed (if Nat didn't flat out tell her) that an idol would be played on her, Jaclyn could've voted for Natalie to make the vote a 3-1-1. The votes for Jac would be voided, and then regardless of how Keith voted, Nat would be voted out 2-1 or 3-0 upon the revote thanks to Missy. Jaclyn has then survived a vote-out, taken out a huge physical threat and jury threat in Natalie, made a game changing move by utilizing someone else's idol to get them out, and likely deeply ingratitated herself with Bailey/Missy. Ofc there's a chance Bailey then wins F4 and they take Jac out because her targets become too large, but I think Jaclyn could've viewed any F4 challenge as her having a decent shot to win. I don't hold any of this against Jac, but I do think she could've had an amazing endgame if she had put any thought into WHY Natalie was asking her to vote for Bailey.

I really don’t think Cody gets a shot at final 3 given the make up. No one was really going to take especially if even Jesse wasn’t willing to take him. If Karla wins F6 immunity, Jesse plays one of the idols, maybe the other one for Owen who knows, but on revote, he 100 percent goes out there or if Karla joins Jesse. Even if he wins F6 immunity he still goes home at F5 via idol and/or revote. Given Cass Owen and Gabler are goats to most of this jury and voting together, idols are key here and Cody gave his away. Even if he doesn’t, he still goes home if other idols are played given that information I listed.

I disagree with what you said about F5 Philippines. If Malcolm and Denise evict Liza, giving the idol to Abi, then at F4 Abi would have to join Liza and Denise against Malcolm. Abi was completely anti Malcolm getting to the FTC, Liza was not as anti malcolm to get to the FTC. Malcolm was the frontrunner he doesnt need goats at F4, he needs to remove them to get less exposed. Malcolm biggest error was not saying to Denise he wanted to go with her, and even then if denise didnt win she was out. Skupin + Liza were much more in favour of Malcolm getting to the FTC in comparison to Abi. Keeping Abi was only good for Skupin's and Liza's game
