Dice Masters and Star Wars: Imperial Assault are two of my three, all time favorite games. I would likely play either of these over anything else if afforded an opportunity to do so. (And I prefer the campaign mode of Imperial Assault over the two-player skirmish mode.)

Xia plus expansion is a tip tier evergreen game. There is no game that gives you greater old school, Amiga sci-fi, sandboxy type vibes. It's wonderful. Five Tribes and Roll for the Galaxy just mature like fine wines, they're so good.

That was a fun list. 2014 was indeed a good year. I bought 15 games listed as 2014 games. Four of mine made your list... and they are all great games. Good games that did not make your lists... Patchwork, Star Realms (still play it live and on Steam), Colt Express, Heroes of Normandie, Paperback, Thunder Alley, and Lords of Xidit (play it on BGA). I would still play any of these at the drop of a hat.

1:16:46 I love that cover for Abyss so much, but I'd never get my wife to play the game based on that. The Anniversary cover is not as visually impressive, but more playful and inviting rather than intimidating

Every 3, 2 and 1 mentioned are amazing games. Five Tribes would be my #1 though... it has it all. Bidding for turn, multiple ways to gain points, genies that break the rules. Incredible production, components and art are really amazing, to be expected of Days of Wonder, but still needs to be mentioned. Just a gem of a game and feels pretty unique.

My top 10 from 2014. I used to be pretty big on thematic games first but have switched to mostly euros. So this list has changed substantially compared to if i would have done it back in 2014 a 2015. Honorable mentions: Star Wars: Imperial Assault, Colt Express. I don’t play these at all nowadays and have sold them. Would be really high up back in the days. 10. Lord of Xidit 9. La Granja 8. Abyss 7. Imperial Settlers 6. Istanbul 5. Five Tribes (honestly not intentional that it’s #5) 4. Castles of Mad King Ludwig 3. Dead of Winter (used to be #1 - got me into the hobby) 2. Murano (hidden gem for euro fans) 1. Orleans (still play til this day, excellent euro in my top 15 games of all time).

Tom continuing with that made up story about Camel Up. The rule book and back of the box both say Camel Up in the initial printing. How is the manufacturer to blame for the exact same typo showing I'm multiple times in the printed text copy? Sorry, but if you actually did talk to someone that told you that, they were pretty clearly lying to you.

Brings up a 2014 game based on Quorriors, then calls another game from 2014 the Dominion of bag building. Quorriors definitely came before and is more likely to be the first.

I'm wondering who enjoys having their name in a "shout out"... do people get excited having their name said in a KZbin video? I make good used of the 5 second skip during them because I couldn't care less about hearing random listeners' names. Maybe there can be a stretch goal in the next kickstarter to just have one big shout out video and stop doing shout outs in all other videos. I'd donate extra to hit that goal.
