Thank you Tom! And a Happy New Year to you and everyone here! 2024 was such an amazing year for great boardgames. Only played half your list but particularly love your top3. CMON hit the spot ... again ^^. Marvel United is really fun as mix&match system and Multiverse made it even better. Tonight we will be playing Cthulhu Fear of the Unknown ep4 and/or ep5. Our favourite Friday night 5 player game :D Slay the Spire was our 3 player addiction. The designers created such a perfectly tuned port from the video game! StS is so much more fun if shared co-operatively with good friends :D

I love Marvel United. I found it on the final hours of late pledge available for DC United, after going 36 years holding off on boardgames. Bought XMen core box and quickly upgraded DC to All In pledge. I think it'll be worth it.

Great video! I haven't tried a lot from your list. I didn't play as many 2024 releases as I did 2023 releases last year. But I would say my top 5 from 2024 are: 5. Raiders of the North Sea: Redux 4. Sankore: The Pride of Mansa Musa 3. Ezra and Nehemiah 2. Windmill Valley 1. Inventors of the South Tigris

Excellent stuff. I didn't really play or buy any of this year's games. Leviathans Wild looks good but can't find it anywhere, Saltfjord is one that interests me.

Hopefully Leviathan Wilds will be available next year when the reprint campaign delivers, I don’t think there were many (if any) copies for sale the first time around

I got the chance to play the first act of Slay the Spire BG and was floored at how good it was as a coop! I don't need to own it though as the mobile version is so dangerously easy to play and I don't have enough time and opportunities to play the board game multiplayer... It's a shame as it is so good, but it doesn't make sense for me to own it. I'll jump at any opportunities I have to play it coop though if someone else has the game!

I think they completely sold out of the first run straight away but there was a reprint campaign earlier this year, hopefully they’ll have some to send to retail this time 🙂

Are Saltjord and Leviathan Wilds even out yet? Are they even available? One thing that's noticeably different between reviewers and the "rest of us" lists is that there's usually games on reviewers lists that most people haven't even had a chance to buy yet. Spectacular, Phoenix New Horizon are on Rahdo's list, but are they out yet or available to the general public? Anyway, kind of frustrating when you have to be one of the backers or wait for a reprint to even get a chance to get the game.

What cutoff do you give it though? I backed Leviathan Wilds and received it about 8 months ago, did it not come out in 2024 for me? Saltfjord was available to buy in Essen and arrived in UK shops at the start of December. Freedom Five just delivered to backers but you can buy it from the publisher’s website in the US. It’s going to be different depending on where you are in the world but how much should I alter the list based on that? I left Captain’s Chair off because that is definitely planned for release in a few weeks time so there’s that 🙂

It’s hard to separate because I’ve been playing it for years, but I think so! I’d probably be more effusive finding out about it through playing this 😀 I would probably have gone for the cheaper standard edition though, being a fan already made the extras more attractive

I’ve had some great times but more frustrating times so far where I can’t shake this feeling of wonkiness when I play. I think it was around #20 when I ranked it all which I’m gutted about because it was probably my most anticipated
