@littleogeechee2237 ай бұрын
Marlon Brando was never a “closet case”. In later life he openly acknowledged that he’d had sexual relationships with other men, and he considered that no big deal. In fact, it was no secret that the love of his life was actually fellow actor and best friend Wally Cox. He was devastated at Cox’s tragic death at such a young age and even fought Cox’s wife in court for the man’s ashes! She finally gave up and let Brando have them, saying she realized he needed them more than she did. I think their ashes were supposed to be disposed of together after Brando died. I don’t know if that ever happened. He even told Cox once that it was too bad they couldn’t get married as he’d make the perfect wife. There was also the relationship with the French actor Christian Marquand whom his son, Christian, was named after. Christian Brando even remarked that his father was a different person when Marquand was visiting. He was like a love struck school girl.

The reason it's good for actors to keep their sexuality private is because of the illusions they create with their characters. When we watch a movie, we want to believe that it's real. We want to believe the fantasy. If you know an actor is gay and is playing a straight person, it destroy's the fantasy of the film. It was a good idea keeping it from the public then and honestly now as well unless the actor is always going to portray gay character's or character's that have no romantic interest. It's all about what is believable. I love Raymond Burr, me and my granny would watch Perry Mason. She never missed an episode. If I was surprised by any of these men being gay, it would be him. But I am so happy he found a lifetime partner. He seems like he was a smart and good man.
