Top 10 guitar solos on a keytar.

My son Mike playing guitar solos on a Alesis Keytar using Kontakt samples.
Not perfect ,not exact copies but still fun to play.

They keytar is fundamentally seen as kind of a "meme instrument", but as a recent owner of a keytar (this one specifically), I've found that all you need to be taken seriously and/or look cool while playing the keytar is simply to play it with confidence.

I wasn’t expecting much, but I got to say, that was impressive. I’ve been playing Keytar for about 15 years and use SWAM instruments for horns and strings and Musiclab’s various forms of guitars like Les Paul. Kontact for Pedal Steel … Just graduated from the roland Ax, which was enormous/ heavy to the Alessis, which is way more compact and has triple the number of MIDI assignable knobs and faders. Rock the house. No strings attached! And practice is purely silent with headphones. Programmable. A keyboard when it wants to be. The best of two worlds.

You play awesome durde!!!! I always wanted to play guitar, i am still trying, but for me is very dificult, i play drums and piano, so i think this could be an awesome choice for people like me. I had seen that also bass can be played from one of these with the correct sounds.

Music is science and art. You can't learn art you have it in you or you don't. But you can learn to play instruments by using science. That is how we humans do it for centuries now. And before anyone begins complaining about what science has to do with music. Well you use science for making holes in guitars. Different kinds of materials, wood, metal, nylon, gold, silver or other metals. Different size strings and thickness. Building a guitar is an art but you need science for it to work how we want it.

You are absolutely right. But not all of us make our own guitars or pianos , but we do choose the gauge and change the strings. We also use software to record it.

It's a Mac mini running Kontakt using Evolution Stratosphere library from Orange Tree Samples and it's only two presets one is Ambient Strat and the second one is called Legendary.

Brilliant, best Keytar player I've heard so far, how are you getting the sound to your amp? Also is the Santana europa sample in the Evolution Stawberry. Right now that is the only song I want to learn to play on the Keytar.

Yes that sample is in Evolution . As far as getting the sound- the keytar uses Alexis wireless dongle plugged into an older Mac mini running Kontakt.
