A bigger question about Al Davis (at least to me), I’ve never seen a picture of the mother of his son Mark but Al was a good looking, charismatic, smart, wealthy, F off if your not on my side guy and had amazing confidence in himself which is at least at first a magnet to woman so was Mark the fruit of a drunken night of the weirdest one night stand between Al and by the looks of Mark a bipedal gerbil/human hybrid Dr Moreauesq F U to god that escaped a South American compound an inexplicably crossed paths with the father of Raider nation, or was he adopted.

I get your point but even with the bad blood, his career wouldn’t have lasted as long if he was getting 30 carries a game the entire time he was with the Raiders. Maybe with those carries he and not Emmit Smith is the career leader or with repeated 380 carry seasons like 1985 his body breaks down. Your not wrong but I don’t think it’s that cut and dried, but this is why we love sports discussing what ifs.

How many years did he have to play to achieve that? 20? So, 3 INT, 1 every other year run back for a TD, and one sack every year? THAT makes you a beast? I think he's the most overrated player in history, not named Earl Cambell or Gale Sayers. I certainly don't remember anyone saying, "Don't let Charles Woodson beat us". He was a moderately good CB. I would take two years of healthy Bob Sanders or six years of Kam Chancellor over Charles Woodson. Woodson was the CB equivalent of Drew Bledsoe. He certainly wasn't a beast to me. But I certainly respect your opinion.

Not sure of the year this video was made, but it mentions there are eight Heisman winners who are also members of the NFL Hall of Fame. There are actually ten that I am aware of: (1) Doak Walker (2) Paul Hornung (3) Roger Staubach (4) O.J. Simpson (5) Earl Campbell (6) Tony Dorsett (7) Marcus Allen (8) Barry Sanders (9) Tim Brown (10) Charles Woodson Additionally, Marcus Allen is the only person who has ever lived that has accomplished these milestones playing football: (1) College football national champion (2) Heisman Trophy (3) College football Hall of Fame (4) Super Bowl champion (5) Super Bowl MVP (6) NFL league MVP (7) NFL Hall of Fame. Tony Dorsett accomplished all of the above with the exception of a Super Bowl MVP and NFL league MVP.

Oj Simpson was the entire Bills offense. The first back to rush for 2,000 yds in a 14 game season. He even had more rushing yds than the team Qb had throwing yds on most games. Dorsett and Allen both had complete teams. Both stacked on offense and defense. This is why he is ranked higher.

Paul Hornung is so underrated. If he played for almost any other team we would talk about him today the way we talk about Jim Brown. Since he played for the star studded Lombardi packers he may have gotten 10 - 15 touches a game. Even with his limited opportunities he’s a legend. The golden boy.

@freddie davis once again you are completely missing my point. I’m using Jim Brown as the gold standard by which to judge another player from that era. I’m saying that PH could’ve been as prolific as JB was had he had more touches and was the only option on his team’s offense. I’m specifically zeroing in on JB because he was so prolific and was his team’s only option some of those years. I’m not comparing the 2. If not for JB the Browns don’t win that 1964 NFL championship. If the packers did not have PH I believe they still would have won the 5 titles that they won. Just my opinion.

What’s so funny about these guys saying “what did they win?” is that all of these NFL writers make the point that you need three things to win a title: QB, coach, defense. The best QB Barry had was Scott Mitchell. His longest tenured coach was Wayne Fontes. His defense consistently ranked in the bottom 10 of the league. He was in the NFC when they won the Super Bowl every year. How could he win in Detroit?

Time to stir the pot. Earl Campbell was a better RB than Jim Brown. He played in a more competitive league. He had better top end speed. He was an equally powerful back. He was just better. The stats would show it if he doesn’t blow out his knees and if Bum Phillips doesn’t run him into the ground with 400+ carries every year. And Paul Hornung is absolutely overrated. Jack of all trades, master of none. People reflect way too fondly on those early Packers teams. Was Hornung even the lead back on his team? Also OJ was a better player than Staubach.

One group I have to, begrudgingly, give credit to on these lists is the 70's and 80's Raiders. They always stick together when it comes to saying a former Raider is ranked too low. Think about it. How many times have George Atkinson or Phil Villapiano said that a former Raider (or anything really related to the Raiders) is too low on the list? It's amazing loyalty, and I have to respect it, even if I HATE the Raiders.

Joe Person is more monotone than Ben Stein and Charles Woodson absolutely earned his Heisman trophy he played in n 11 games scored 5 tds(Punt return, Rushing, Receiving) and snatched 7 picks. The reason i hate the Heisman Trophy is because it rarely goes to the actual best player. Its been going to the best player on the best team and only offensive players. Suh should have won his last season at Nebraska. Off top of my head i can think of three three undisputed Heisman winner Devonte Smith, Joe Burrow, and Derrick Henry

Let's cut the crap I know everybody has their favorites but pound for pound play for play and stat for stat both in college as well as in the pros no Heisman trophy winner can have the claim to number one on this list than Barry Sanders........ There's literally no one else like him.

It's pathetic that people still after all these years have to be saying that Barry never want a single thing which he never did with the Lions. He played great in college proved himself and he carried that reputation to the NFL and did not let down any of the years that he played. They won the division which was the old Central division I believe back in 91 and 93 so that would have been his second and 4th or 5th Year. He took a dismantled franchise from a no-name team and people don't realize that they were making the playoffs even if it was in the wild card most of his career. Never had a steady quarterback only won one playoff game that I understand but Marino only want a handful of f****** playoff games in his lifetime and only made one super bowl granted yes he made the super bowl but you don't hear them throwing that back in the argument about Dan Marino anymore because of what he did and how he revolutionized the position and that is exactly what Barry Sanders did. Because after a few years in Miami Marino can I even make it back out of the divisional playoff round I think after he won the AFC title the one year he was like over 3 or only over two in his career in the playoffs and championship games.

1) WRONG! 30:07 OJ won the National Championship in 1967. Set the record for TDs in a season in 1975 & yards from scrimmage, the same year. A 14 game season btw. 2) Charles Woodson was Defensive RoTY in Oakland and was a perineal pro-bowler until injuries. Got beat for a TD in that Superbowl but also got a Interception.

Marcus Allen deserves to be higher he would have been number 1 if his career hadn’t been sabotaged by the owner of his team that also refused to trade him despite his requests the fact that he’s as predictive as he was and has all those accomplishments despite that speaks for itself

O.J. was a great rb in the NFL, people forget how great he was, for other reasons off the field. However, there's no way he should be this high on the list....one commentator was dead right. Dorsett and All should be higher than O.J.
