I built in #1 last season on ark poc. I survived all season with one raid attempt. I had 6 heavies and a gen on one side, 6 heavies scattered around my base on the bigger side. i had a couple fence supports in the entrance and an aggressive megatherium hidden just past the drop down which i used to get lvl100 in swamp cave and didnt really have a use for it anymore. The problem with that base location is that theres a roof rathole just below it in the huge underwater cave. So if you build there or someone is built in the other one you can hear a fabricator easily from either side and itll block foundations from going down. This is how we found out about it, as a duo we took the cave and intended to move into the rathole above. Wasnt buildable so we sniffed around the water looking for air pockets and found someone to raid. Cool spot though.

I like the ones where the only way inside is to use some small ridable tame or grappling hook. If you have to crawl to get in that would be good too. I wish we could grow vines/hanging moss in front of small bases.

I’ve built in the rag one consistently. Not hard to defend you can use anything including homing rockets where enemy has to only tek rifle or bow.

You can also defend with a ton of underwater mines and tusos on aggro. Plus plant species x to slow them down and keep them from being able to see

gen1 ocean rathole is old and very well known cuz of Kurtis and the abb one is not so well known but a guy named Holly who now makes smalls content used to build in it on arkpoc a few years back and he made a series in it, good vid

Checked number 1 and there is 0 mesh protection i have a massive base on smalls and it is just for breeding downside is that gigas wyverns and rexes spawn in there also there is a rathole inside that rathole which is where i lived
