Naomi Scott definitely deserved to be in the top 5 at least. Her descent into madness in Smile 2 felt so real and was one of the best perfomances in a horror movie in recent memory in my opinion. Just wish the Academy Awards would pay attention to horror movies. So many great horror performances in the last 10 years that have deserved nominations.

Carolyn Bracken deserves so much more than an honourable mention. Oddity is as great a movie as its title and she plays the lead brilliantly. It’s probably my favourite horror of the year.

I loved late night with the devil, I saw it in theatre and it was extremely enveloping. I felt like I was in the audience of the shooting of the TV show. The ending was a little lackluster for me, but the overall film was just engrossing

Lupita is one of our finest actors hands down. That woman is always AMAZING , it’s doesn’t really matter what role she’s doing, she always delivers an outstanding performance. From 12 years a slave, Us to A quiet Place. What a brilliant artist she is. On the other hand, I couldn’t disagree more with Naomi Scott only receiving a honorable mention. Her performance in ‘Smile 2’ would have gotten her award nominations if this wasn’t a genre flick and instead was something about mental disorders due to her drug and alcohol addiction.

I'd have gone Grant over Moore; he gave one of my favorite performances of the year, but Demi is still a fine choice for the top spot, and The Substance is one of the best films of the year. Horror fans ate GOOD in 2024.
