Good to see that the Atlanta Hotel got a mention - the first hotel I ever stayed in on my first visit to Thailand.
@Eatsleepbangkok6 жыл бұрын
Yes, it seems like a special kind of place. Judging from the lobby you wouldn't think it was a budget hotel but their rooms are probably some of the cheapest on this soi. It's also a hotel that seems to do business the old-fashioned way. Was it like this when you visited?
@SebCam336 жыл бұрын
EatSleepBangkok yes very traditional - and even back in 1998 they had the “no sex tourist” signs. I love the beautiful staircase in the lobby which apparently has been used in some films ... as you also mentioned.

EatSleepBangkok......Do you do any reviews on hotels in the Philippines? If not do you know of anyone who does? If so can you put the link in your response. Are any of these hotels guest friendly? Great Video and Thanks

@Eatsleepbangkok6 жыл бұрын

Have you reviewed P24@Kaset ? I have stayed there 3 times.. it is very nice... not in this part of town of course. I have watched many of your VDO's and I enjoy them very much. Thanks!

A.N.Other great review, it is the street that I like to stay in when in Bangkok... I especially like the Lohas Suites but will check out the other hotels in furture :)
@Eatsleepbangkok6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment, Paul. The Lohas place does look good. If I was to stay in a hotel in the area I would probably choose this as well. Is a bit too deep into the soi, however.

as always, interesting; especially the Atlanta. i'm not in the market for hotels on Soi 2 but the Atlanta would surely reject me!

Great vlog but if you walk directly across the road from the majestic there is a cut through to soi nana where there is a 7/11 surely this is the closest convenient store?
@Eatsleepbangkok6 жыл бұрын
Hello Mickey - yes you are right. Walking to the 7 Eleven from most hotels will only take a few minutes done the way you suggest. Pardon the error.

EatSleepBangkok Mate it's great watching your vlogs informative not sleazy and a great view from somebody else's eyes great informative subjects for newbies and return visitors. Please try the suda restaurant i previously mentioned many years since I went there so would love to know if its still as good. Thanks

Thanks Mickey. I am sorry I cannot guarantee I can get a video made about Suda in the near future as we will be leaving Thailand in about 2 weeks time. We are hoping to be back around Christmas.

According to the Bangkok Post, 7/11 is poised to bring their total number of self owned and franchised stores to a staggering total of 11,000 in Thailand. With an estimated 40% of them being located in the Bangkok vicinity. Why is there not 1 to be found on Soi 2? I just got back home from the better part of a month on that Soi, at the #5 rated hotel, and found myself pondering that question even as my plane landed at O'hare. Anyway, another good video. It did make me wish I would have extended my visa.

Hello Will, Soi 2 does seem dominated by hotels and a few restaurants and then not much else. The hotels look quite attractive to my mind, however. I will be in your shoes in about 1 month's time when we go back to Denmark. I will miss Bangkok a lot. We hope to be able to return around Christmas time - that would be ideal.
@willg49446 жыл бұрын
Alan, thanks for the reply. I wish you well on your travels. I am already looking at returning in November. This time I will be staying longer than a month and will be looking for a more permanent location to stay. obviously one with a 7 Eleven within close proximity to where I will be staying. On one other note, I hope you have a lot of video's that you will be able to edit and put up on KZbin while you are back home. I want you to know that my request is in fact, a very selfish one. I have gotten used to watching quality videos when I am having my coffee and just chilling out. You and JC from retirecheap are my guys. Now get to work.
