*TIME STAMPS* 0:25 *Aloe vera* - For wound healing and cell generation. Look for acemannan, aloe polysaccharide extract or aloe extract, and NOT leaf juice. 2:08 *Hyaluronic acid* - Hydration. 2:40 *Trans-resveratrol* - Antioxidant. For redness and acne. Just eat grapes lol. 3:55 *Lactic acid* - Chemical exfoliation. 5:00 *Centella asiatica (gotu kola)* - Wound healing (I'm assuming its function is same as aloe vera). 5:30 *Ceramides* - Natural moisture barrier of skin. For moisture retention and good for eczema. 6:23 *Ferulic acid* - Antioxidant against UV radiation. Pair with sunscreen. 7:20 *Azelaic acid* - Free fatty acid. For acne. 7:58 *Hemp seed oil* - Best as cleansing oil and/or leave-on for body. 8:50 *Sunscreen* - Duh. Have to get back to work lol. In case you want to jump back to review a specific ingredient :p I may or may not edit this to include their functions later, depending on my schedule (I'm currently at work shhhh lol) Edit: These are just cheat notes for fast reference. @allthatshines10085 жыл бұрын
From what I've read retinoids are really good when it comes to fine lines and wrinkles as well as evening the skin. You can buy differin in drugstores and walmart and that contains adapalene which is a retinoid!

I'm hearing really good things about hyaluronic acid for pumping fine lines on reddit in the skincare addiction subreddit. Just a personal anecdote: I used that sephora bday gift the Drunk Elephant protini moisturizer which has ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and a bunch of fantastic ingredients and my skin never looked so good. I had this natural glow and it didn't break me out. Now I'm not necessarily saying it's just this moisturizer, but I suspect all the ingredients I mentioned really helped because I used the Kale Hyaluronic Acid moisturizer by some other brand who's name escapes me and had similar results. Make sure you use hyaluronic acid on wet skin it sounds weird but makes a big difference.

Right? Why do I need to reapply every 2 hours? I use the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer and it says to reapply every 2 hours. I feel like that would just make me look really cakey.
@bellep95205 жыл бұрын
That recommendation is there for a reason. Obviously, like most products, the effects of sunscreen will wear off after some time. If you are going to be in the sun for prolonged periods of time, it is mandatory to reapply if you wish to maintain an effective barrier between your skin and sun. If you're wearing makeup and are going to be outside for longer than 2 hours, bring other means of protection. Or just try not to wear makeup on days you know you'll be outside for a long time.
@imapineapple155 жыл бұрын
I know this might not exactly help, but I really like the tinted Australian Gold mineral sunscreen. It has the texture of a soft velvety primer and dries to a matte finish. Perfect for fair skin especially those with pink or redness in their skin. I could see reapplying it over makeup a bit better than some of the sticky sunscreens.

A lot of people have tested and rated sunscreens in the skincare addiction subreddit on Reddit if you are not sure what one is best! I think the most important reason why we should be skeptical of those reports about hormonal effects of chemical sunscreen ingredients is that those results have only been demonstrated in vitro, never in vivo (except maybe in mice, which are not people), and that's not because in vivo studies haven't been done - they have and they did not return the same results as the in vitro testing.
