0:58 Judging by the 2013 date on the eBay listing, the model would've been around 15 years old at that point (since it has to predate the actual Superman: Krypton Coaster built by B&M that was opened in 2000). The seller is also listed from Seguin, Texas (a suburb of San Antonio) so it obviously didn't travel very far from the park the coaster was supposed to go in. If I had to take a guess, after Togo's idea was rejected the model was put into storage at a branch office Togo had in Texas and then ended up in private hands when Togo went bankrupt in 2001 and that branch office shut down as a result. Someone then had it in their private collection for a decade or so, then sold it to the flea market vendor who the eBay seller got it from. This is purely speculative, of course, but it makes sense to me. :)

The new(er) ride that goes over the edge of the tower is WAY scarier. I’ll never go it it again.

The one time I went up the Stratosphere, we bought the lift ticket, plus two ride tickets, one for the High Roller, and one for the Big Shot. (Probably the best luck I ever had in Vegas.)
@CONSOLETRUTH23 жыл бұрын
The high roller sucked. I wanted my money back even though i got to ride it for free. The 2 newer rides go from eh, to crazy. I cant remember which is named what but one os basically a teeter totter that, when pointed down, it slides forward and stops with the car a good few feet past the end, unless you sit in front, its not that great. The other one moves the ride over the edge and starts to spin, and as it does its arms extend outward until you are basically looking close to straight down. Funny story with that onebis some years back, as a safety feature if high winds kick up, it was at its mid ride point when it shut down with it fully extended leaving passengers stuck, looking down, for like 4t min before they could be brought back in. Some of the riders of course tried to sue but had no case as the ride did what it was designed to do and if you have ever been to Vegas then you know it can be calm outside and 5 seconds later 45 mph winds kick up out of nowhere.

For the inverted wooden coaster concept, RMC would be the most likely manufacturer to revive the concept. However, inverted track in general is very expensive probably due to needing extra material to allow the track to be suspended as well as reinforcing the structure since it can't just rest on supports.

Theme Park Crazy: this coaster would have 9 inversions, the most you'll be going upside down on a coaster in the entire world. The Smiler: Uh oh, looks like someone needs to get CORRECTED!

I've been wondering whatever happened to your list's #2 coaster -- the Polercoaster. I was intrigued by it from the first time I saw it featured on the internet a few years back as an upcoming coaster to look forward to. Then never heard hyde nor hair about it again since. Thanks for the update!

I've ridden Tranan once, and all i can say is it was really fun. I had no idea that the ride actually had an inversion, it's amazing how they hid it. The restraints are a bit weird, they're like seatbelts but its more old-school i guess. I'd gladly recommend Tranan!

Damn, can't believe I had the same idea of a coaster type that already excisted (the X-wing coaster) without even knowing it did. The only thing I had different was that my version was more like a doubledecker wing coaster than a divecoaster with wings. Hope Disney takes some notes... Would love to see s&s make a Tie Fighter Axis coaster aswel!

Some of these, especially the gyrocoaster, definitely smack of the desire to create the next X.

Little bit of trivia for you. When Bob Stupak built the Stratosphere in the early 90s, he envisioned a King Kong style ride where a large gorilla filled with riders would climb up the side of the tower. I don't recall how much investment conceptually happened, but I do recall seeing concept drawings for it.
