Hey guys, and welcome back to another osrs fact video. Today I will be going over another 10 interesting facts on oldschool runescape. Its pretty crazy that this is like my 9th episode, yet I am still learning things about this game.

Enter the Dark Wizard's Tower (north of the makeover make, West of Falador) and go to the top floor. Speak to Zandar Horfyre and click the option that you refuse to leave. He will teleport you to the middle of the Lumbridge Swamp. Conveniently you end up on the exact square needed for a Medium Clue dig step. I honestly don't know if it saves any time compared to running from the Lumbridge teleport or the Necklace of Passage's Wizard Tower teleport, but I think it's a pretty interesting and unknown teleport that has a very niche use.

If you've completed Spirits Of The Elid and you talk to the Spirits around the fire after, depending on what dialogue choices you select you can get them to argue about leaving the toilet seat up or down.

The guy in the fishing hamlet seems like a reference to the game Bloodborne, since he says the bit about embracing the fall into the watery hall like how you fall off an edge into a lake to fight the boss Rom the Vacuous spider, and he mentions the moon and dreaming which are two huge aspects in the game. Besides that, in the DLC there's a fishing hamlet (like the one the NPC is at) as well as there being enemies in part of the DLC which constantly say stuff like "splish splosh" and the like.

Thanks for the shout out! One small note, I didn't discover the cats in barrows easter egg, some people from the rs wiki discord did and I just investigated it further. In the future I would appreciate if you didn't use or recreate clips from my videos without contacting me first. I can be easily messaged on reddit, twitter or in game my private is almost always on. I think its cool that you're showing off the little things most people overlook though, the game is much deeper than most people notice, and im sure the people who developed a tiny easter egg 15 years ago would be thrilled to see the passion people have for them still so much later

The home teleport wand is similar to V's shield, where the colour of the backside of the shield changes depending on your character's boot colour (not equipped boots)

A lot of people don't train buyables at the grand exchange because they prefer a bank chest for easier banking :)

What do you mean easier banking? It's one-click either way?

@@sniemann1 Prior to clients like RuneLite, clicking a bank would actually make you talk to the banker. Meaning you had to right click, then click to bank. This meant anyone who wanted to train efficient would train at a bank chest because it was just a left click. I imagine this is a habit that is engrained in many (I personally always train bank skills at castle wars). Also, less likely but there is still the chance you somehow hit grand exchange instead of bank. If you made it this far and you are skilling, make sure you use screen markers!!! Built into runelite and other clients on the side, mark where you need to click with little boxes... Your life will be much easier haha.

I remember years ago I suggested a lovecraft themed raid tier based in Rellekka. Which involved the resolution to the slug menace questline, an under water city rising to the surface (near Rellekka), and an ancient sleeping raid boss. Mod Ash actually responded and said it was a cool idea and they would be open to lovecraft themed updates in the future, but seeing the Rakkar dialogue perhaps they already had something in mind way before I suggested it.

I like interacting with people while skilling and flipping at the same time. That way skilling feels more like a substantial part of the game to me. There's a beauty to both ways of doing it, but i have an ironman for the less social skilling experiences

If you stand at the Falador Cabbage Patch Allotments long enough, a farming spirit will spawn and tell you that you don't have to stand there and watch your crops. I also remember that a ghost spawns somewhere, I think the Falador gates, or the Varrock gates, at a certain time periodically. I don't think you can interact with it in any way. And you can talk to the ghosts in Melzar's Maze if you have and Amulet of Ghostspeak. They are trapped in the memory of when Elvarg killed them all. Pretty Gruesome. Also, I remember in RS2, a ghost spawns in the gallows behind Draynor Manor for a second every 30 secs/minute. Still does in RS3, but don't know about oldschool.

There was this discovery I made back in 2006 or so when I I was a free player and searched on Yahoo how to get member items for free (obviously near impossible ). I stumbled upon this forum and one person discovered that if you used a spade and dig somewhere near the draynor Manson, somewhere behind the garden or something, you'll get a members item. I tried it myself and I actually got a skull! It said it was a members item and I'd have to log into members world to use it. I was really excited that whole week

the snail helm dude is a direct reference to bloodborne as well. the DLC had some dude that only made sense if you talked with a certain item equipped and also did that splish splosh stuff in a "dream" area

If you talk to Dondakan the Dwarf in Keldagrim you can talk to him to ask for his granite boots. The conversation goes on and on of my begging for the shoes and then he asks how much you'd be willing to pay. I put 1m in and he laughs and says he's not willing to sell them, he just wanted to see how high you'd go with your offer. Made me laugh and think of your channel. :)

When you did the most xp gained did you do ONE singular tile becuase that would explain why the ge isn’t as high. Another reason is the ge is busy asf and its honestly pretty shitty to do a 99 grind there

Maybe the reason the GE ranks to low is because the ratings are based on individual tiles - not "locations". All people doing cooking training will earn their cooking XP in the exact same tile - but in the GE, people could be positioned anywhere around the circular structure and so all that experience being earned is being divided over ~20-30 tiles.

The purple monkey could have been the Goddess Apmeken. Since her followers are Monkeys and I believe in old school lore she left the desert, it could make sense. Also, Rakkar could be giving a Cthulhu reference especially with it being in a fishing town and the reference to reefs and sleeping. Could be a stretch but since RS3 got a reference to Mother Hyrda and Father Dagon in Slug Menace series, it isn't impossible.

about using the sanfew on the nail beasts apperantly there's an npc (not sure who or where i assume canifis) when you talk to him he says that the sanfew potion will damage the nail beasts. so it's not a bug or something like that

Fishing Hamlet and the npc are references to H.P Lovecraft and Fromsoftwares Bloodborne, that is influenced By Lovecraftian horror. In Bloodborne there is an NPC in Fishing Hamlet that starts to talking like that when you have a Milkweed rune Equipped.

i bet i got the best easter egg right here, the belladonna farming patch grows nightshade. bella donna translates to beautiful woman, and the nightshade is posion. its an easter egg saying beautiful woman can be a poison to you.

I wonder if it's possible to stun-lock bosses with a big enough group of people wearing blackjacks, like the corporeal beast. The fight would last longer, but I imagine it would be an insane resource saver and might even make the fight more manageable for lower level players.

Just checked the wiki for blackjacks, and it has a calculator for chance to cause stun. its based both off enemies current hp and what you damage it. as corp has 2k hp on spawn, if you were to hit it for a 25, you have a .03% chance to stun it for 3 seconds. even with a horde of players smacking it with blackjacks, youd have to be pretty lucky to stun him til corps under 100 hp remaining.
