CFA won't do shit to help you break into IB, and neither will an MBA. Majority of BB firms like JPM and GS hire finance/econ majors right out of undergrad. Majority of the people who get these jobs get them in the form of a return offer from the Junior year SA internship. Please don't waste your time thinking a CFA will help you at all.

An mba will help if you want an associate position to start with. The truth is, for those large firms, if you really want to stand a good chance you need an ivy league. As for the degree choice, once you’re there, it’s flexible
