It’s heartwarming to see Jason’s costars and the Power Rangers fanbase express their condolences, but it’s baffling to me that Jason’s death isn’t receiving nearly as much attention from the general public or coverage from the mainstream media. This guy was the face of a movement. His name was synonymous with the Power Rangers brand. For all intents and purposes, he helped build a multi-billion dollar franchise that has withstood the test of time for nearly 30 years now. His legacy deserves far more recognition.

He meant more to 90s kids than any Marvel "star." For many of us, he was our very first "hero." Honestly, I loved the episodes where past rangers come in to help out. The episodes with Tommy are good, and I think that if there was a Power Rangers special planned to celebrate his legacy, I think that the one person to give him proper restect would be Austin St. John, AKA Jason. Also, I've always been a fan of Power Rangers as it's been a part of my childhood and even gave me inspiration to do martial arts. But, I honestly only got to Gold belt before having to drop out since my family was always moving. Similarly. Before the Rangers, I didn't even know there were white tigers 😅 However, after Jason's character became a white ranger, I found a magazine about white tigers and dreamed of seeing their live. How happy I was when I saw a white tiger at the zoo! 😅 And at the same time, when Jason's character became a white ninja ranger, I liked the falcons. And I also dreamed of seeing it live. How glad I was when, at the age of 27, I was traveling by train and on one railway platform I saw a man with a bird on his arm. I immediately realized that it was a falcon and got out of the train, fortunately the stop was long. I approached the man, asked if it was a falcon, he confirmed it. I asked him to hold it, the man transplanted the falcon onto my arm. I was overjoyed at that moment. R.I.P. Jason David Frank 😢 We will miss you.

Jason didn't know when to quit and I love that about his character. Giving up wasn't in his vocabulary. They gave him the right position in the group, the leader. Man, we took a huge hit with hearing of his passing away and took us off guard. It shows how depression can really impact someone’s life and can change one’s behavior as well. I pray whoever is going through this that it's ok to seek help. It does not make you weak. It makes you stronger and shows self-awareness. Believe me you're stronger than you know. Don't let anybody make you think otherwise. I know that problems can be overwhelming in the moment and it may seem that there's no way out of it but that problem is temporary. Taking your life is a permanent action that you can't come back from and you're separating yourself from the people who truly love you based on a false narrative that you don't matter. You matter a lot. You're life is precious. You are beautiful and strong. Trust in yourself that you can get out of it. You will. Sorry for the long paragraph. I felt compelled to write this. Of all the actors who have been Rangers over the years, I think he was truly the epitome of being a Ranger IRL as well. MMA fighter for o few years, obviously kept himself in great shape over the years, did the "Jesus Didn't Tap Out" clothing and merch (which, not a Christian myself, but I can respect his faith), and just seems to be a truly, genuinely great guy who loved the fans as much as we loved him. I hope that Rita's final spell on him is truly broken now and he finds peace.

@@MarkBonneaux yes! It’s pretty obvious that he was proud of being a ranger. I felt like the other actors at one point in their lives didnt want to be known for being rangers or they weren’t proud, but I felt like eventually they came around. Jason David Frank however seems like he really loved and was proud of being a ranger from day 1.

RIP Jason David Frank, I still can remember the days watching him call the dragonzord as the green ranger with his dagger and I'd just be sitting in front of the TV imitating him as he played to call it in. When he came back as the white ranger it was epic because not only did he have a cool new suit but the first time he used his tiger sword and then called out the tigerzord I was freaking right out in the living room and lets not get started on when he got the falconzord, bruuuuuuhhhhhh he was my all time favorite ranger.

Today, a part of my childhood have disappeared. No one can replace Jason David Frank as a Power Ranger! He was clearly and simply the best! I watched only the first 2 generations of Power Rangers, but i was so addicted to the series and watched the movie tons of time! Just hearing him saying ''the Power Rangers!'' and his yell while kicking ''Hiyaa'' is giving me chills! He left everyone too soon and all my toughts are for his family! RIP Tommy Oliver! Thank you to have made my childhood more exciting and joyful!

JDF was a remarkable human above all else and was always absolutely wonderful to his fans all the time. Never seen another celebrity be so interactive and outgoing towards the public. He was also an extremely impressive martial artist- the media has been showcasing his MMA career, but let's not forget his feats in the martial arts world, beginning when he was a child. Nothing short of amazing. The world lost a good father, friend to all, sensei, martial artist, actor, role model, and generally good man. May his spirit and legacy live on in the hearts of his many fans the world over, his students, and his children. Goodbye, Jason. 😞

This was a beautiful tribute to the legendary Power Ranger Tommy Oliver. I remember watching some of the Power Rangers series when Tommy guest starred, especially the clone fight in Super Ninja Steel. Now I’m going to go back to all the Power Ranger episodes he was in and watch them. I still can’t believe this beautiful, wonderful person is gone, but his legacy and memory will forever live on in all his appearances in the Power Ranger Franchise. Rest In Peace, Jason David Frank. 😢😭

Although, I was born in 1998, I saw Dino Thunder, and when I saw the episode where the Dino Rangers found out that Tommy has been there since the first series of Power Rangers, I was like, "Bet this guy is a legend." Seeing him in Super Megaforce and some battles after was awesome! I bet everyone, including me, misses him.

I had to wait a few days in order to watch this. JDF meant a lot to so many people in this world, he inspired so many people through this character, and who he was as a person. Every episode of Power Rangers that he's been on, I watched. I was lucky to meet him a few years ago. Paid for one autograph, and he liked my shirt so much he gave me a free second autograph. It just shows how much he loved and appreciated his fans. RIP Jason David Frank. Once a Ranger, Always a Ranger.

He was the ultimate power ranger and legend.

Tommy was such a great character from my childhood. From his start in the series as a villain to the legendary hero that he became, I knew the value of redemption, the importance of loyalty and how sacrifice can be harsh but necessary through him. RIP Jason, thanks for making my childhood awesome! 😓

Watching all these moments waters ups fast. I was there from the beginning, 8yrs old now 37. Green with Evil, Forever Red, to seeing him fight his evil robot self with the Master Morpher as an older Tommy was special. I've been awaiting to see his Legend of the White Dragon movie forever. He would do Facebook live and absolutely loved his fan base and was proud being a Power Ranger no matter any stigma or typecasting. Seeing him hug it out with admiration from Stan Lee really tells you something. Most of us didn't know him personally but to us, we saw him as this real life superhero in our childhoods... Family, and now we cry as family. Will miss him greatly...

I was very numbed and devastated at first by his death. I cannot believe it! I used to watch Power Rangers on VCD and on the TV broadcast when I was a little kid back in the mid-2000s. Seeing Tommy Oliver got me mesmerized because of his fighting skills and acted as a Power Ranger. He was a national treasure of the Power Rangers franchise and my childhood hero. It was the moment during Amy Johnson's Instagram video where she mentioned about if anyone was struggling with depression and mental health that just made it clear Jason had unalived himself and it is just heartbreaking to know he reached that point. As a kid, the Power Rangers were my literal heroes, they were just such badasses. Also helped that they were all likeable, loveable characters. Tommy, Kimberly, Jason, Billy, Zack, Trini, Zordon, Alpha and even Bulk and Skull, I adored all of them. I had the MMPR movie on tape back when VHS was how we consumed films and I had it rewound and played SO MUCH that it stopped working, it's one of my childhood movies that I've always held near and dear to me. This truly hit me in a way that I wasn't expecting. You never hear about the struggles people are going through until it's too late. Class, privilege, wealth etc means NOTHING when it comes to mental health. EVERYONE struggles with something at some point and I choked up when telling my fiancé about what happened to Jason. Knowing he lost a daughter a year prior and was currently going through a divorce, I just can't even imagine the pain he was in. I just hope he's at peace now and even though I'm not a religious man, I truly hope there is a better place after we leave this mortal coil. Jason was a damn hero and inspiration to millions of us around the globe. We lost Robin Williams, Chester Bennington and now Jason Frank to such a tragic means. It's a very sobering reality that there will come a time that the people we idolise, we look up to, admire and who made an impact in our lives because of what they do and who they are, we'll inevitably begin to lose either from medical reasons, horrific tragedies like this or simply through the passage of time and it never gets any easier. Each beautiful soul we lose makes the world a much more melancholic place as they were responsible for bringing so much happiness, joy and love to many people. It's just awful to know anyone reaches that lowest point. I can only pray that Jason knew just how much we adored him. He will be sorely missed and I'm genuinely getting upset and emotional typing this. RIP Jason. You were the original Green and eventual White Ranger, a badass, an icon, a legend. But most of all, to all of us: You were a HERO. May the power protect you, rest easy buddy 😥💙
