Employers are so touchy about their BIPOC metrics these days that they are deliberately overlooking applications from whytes particularly whyte males, and trying to hire only people with darker skin. Ideally dark skin+ nonbinary gender. I am living this right now, applying for jobs. Recruiters are being told "don't send us any more wyte males!" A friend at a technology co. told me his management can only hire a whyte or Asian AFTER they have interviewed one blaque. Doesn't matter that there are very few blaques available for software engineering positions. They still have to pretend. This is all over the country now. Sooner or later, a class action suit will bring this practice before the Supreme Court where it will be declared illegal as per the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title VII which bars discrimination in hiring. And then the weasels will figure out another way to get around it. A whole country gone insane.

Just days ago I drove my car out of the garage and drove down my dead-end street only to find a car in the middle of the street with blinkers on. There was plenty of space along the curb, probably enough for 3 cars to be parked but this person just chose to leave it in the street. I looked around assuming that someone was making a quick delivery but then spotted a young woman standing at a neighbors door. She turned and looked over her shoulder at me and continued her conversation. At that point I was already frustrated as I had somewhere to be. I lightly tapped my horn a couple times to make her aware I was waiting patiently(before) but NOW I wanted her to get out of my way. She slowly walked back to her car, all the while staring at me, so I rolled down my window and said "there was plenty of room for you to park". She got in her car, took her time starting it and as she drove past me, she rolled down her window, flipped me off and called me an "entitled f*ck". I suspect this hood-rat Karen doesn't even know the meaning of "entitled" because that would be HER behavior! 😡

Because I’m white, these racists feel safe spouting their crap in front of me. One Deli guy regretted that decision immediately, as he was fired. A lovely young woman of Latino descent had gotten some lunch meat from the deli, she was polite, said thank you, walked away. He turns to his coworker and like it’s as natural as breathing, says “can’t wait until they’re all sent back to where they belong”. I’m a long time customer at that grocery store, I had never seen him before, and it’s a very diverse place that has employees of wide range of backgrounds and many with disabilities as well. I immediately got a manager, the employee he was talking to backed me up, and he was fired on the spot.

Yep Ive run into several Karens when out with my service dog. My favorite was a lady who came into a restaurant with her kids after we had been there. Once we were done we got up and my doberman service dog calmly climbed out from under the table and she screamed and said "Oh my god you had that dangerous dog under there? My kids are here." good for you, my dogs been just laying there all this time and thats the whole point, you are not supposed to know he is there. He is a service dog, he is working. He is not supposed to disrupt others and should be quiet and well behaved, which he is and was. Unlike her precious kids who were being loud and bouncing all over the seats and belonged more at a Chunk E Cheese.

The fact that pretty much everyone has the ability to video, and even if no one is around there are cameras everywhere, is definitely a great effect. There was a Karen at my doc's office waiting room. They were running behind because of call-outs due to covid. She huffed and puffed soooooooooooo loudly that it caught my attention. She stamped her foot on the floor. The nurse asked her to fill out some paperwork, and actually brought it out to her, to which Karen responded, "Oh Dear God!!!!! Why didn't you ask me to do this earlier?" She filled it out and returned it to the window, turned around, and across the waiting saw a young man, who had alot of tats down his arms, holding his son up to the water fountain for a drink. The child was mixed black or latino and white, nuntheless, beautiful boy. Karen announced to the entire room "Oh My God, I guess I won't be drinking out of that fountain!!!!!" Same here. And as a dog owner myself(I have a 91 pound Red Fox Lab) what she did ticks me off not only what she was doing hoisting up the poor pupper into the air by it's neck technically animal abuse meaning the law-enforcement branch of the ASPCA would've been within their rights to arrest her on charges of animal abuse, but the fact that she didn't have it leashed per Central Park rules was a recipe for disaster in it's own right cause what if it ran off and gotten hurt via a car or a wild animal yes it would be a tragic situation she could have avoided by having it on it's leash, and another disaster in the making that would be her fault due to not having it on the leash is the possibility of it running off and attacking someone or someone else's dog at that point attacking the dog would be allowed because you're defending yourself or your dog from her dog because she didn't control it by having it on a leash, seriously if the dog would've attacked him and he was forced to defend himself that could've resulted in Central Park banning all dogs from entering it due to her willingly not following the rules. Also him being nice to the dog and offering it a treat is not a sign of him being aggressive towards it.

I work at a Walmart and we get our share of rather interesting people. My first experience with a karen, though was a woman that was extremely upset because she ordered two blinds online and we only had one in stock. So we picked the blinds she ordered, and when she came to pick them up, she demanded to know where the other one was. I calmly told her that we only had one in stock, and that she will be reimbursed financially for the other one. So after yelling at me and calling me names, and insisting that I didn’t know what I was talking about she relented and then wanted to know where her other blind was and I said well are you going to take it or are you just going to cancel your order? She demanded that I give her the one blind, and she actually stomped her foot and said I want it now. I went to go get it and looked at the screen and saw her name was actually Karen and I said isn’t that funny. I actually have a cousin with that name and she is so easy-going and nice and sweet…
@edwardr1250 Жыл бұрын
Just to be clear, the woman ordered something online. No doubt, she also indicated the store from which she would obtain the items, and also, no doubt, the Walmart website advised her that the items were in stock at that store. But when she arrived, she found out only one was in stock. Now if she was coordinating window treatment that required two, only one would be undesirable. Upon finding out that Walmart had dropped the ball, she became a little upset but didn't do anything except express her disappointment. That's your definition of a "Karen"? That's your degree of empathy for something that was your fault? (I say "your" fault, because at that moment, as an agent of Walmart, you represented the company with respect to this transaction). You say you get your share of "interesting people" at your store. What I see is that Walmart gets some rather pathetic people to work for it at the retail level. Then again, I can see why your level of achievement seems to be capped at being a Walmart store-level employee.

I don’t know if this qualifies as a Karen as it was in 1992 in the Uk. So I was in a maternity hospital and 15 days overdue. I was sitting quietly in a bed opposite a beautiful black woman. The woman was in tears so I went over to comfort her. I asked if she was okay. A nurse came over and said ‘we are discharging you so off you go’. The poor woman had to get off the bed in mid contraction and carry her own case to the lift. When she was gone the nurse said - ‘they (meaning black women) are all the same. They scream and shout when in labour. But they don’t feel pain like we do’. I asked her how come? She didn’t have an answer? Half an hour later the flying squad found her in the carpark after having given birth in her car, alone, no pain relief, and terrified. I hope she sued the hospital for everything they had!
