I used to do that for every game I played. Until I realized that games are more fun when you just play them on your own without someone holding your hand the whole way through, and only occasionally consulting other sources if you REALLY can't figure something out. And then when you beat the game for the first time, then you can play it subsequent times and do a 100% run.

+MyToySupra That's why you don't use an external Wii Motion Plus. When you use a Wii Remote that has the Wii Motion Plus built into it, it plays Skyward Sword pretty well and from my experience I never had to reconnect the controller.

My favorite game is Skyward Sword. A lot of people say it sucks, but i don't see whats wrong with it. I loved the dungeons ( Except for the 3rd one). I liked how all the shops were in one place, and Girahim was a great villain. My favorite location was Eldin Volcano. The motion controls worked really well for me I just don't see whats wrong with the game.

People hate skyward sword because it's easier than the others. It maybe have a good plot and orchestral music, but the game feels empty. Even Nintendo said that the game was linear and easy, and they will fix that in the next Zelda game. As you see the people don't hate it because it is new, it is because they changed the whole structure of the Zelda games. You can't limit the exploration in a Zelda game, neither make it linear and easy. For a Zelda game is like loosing 2 legs and 1 arm.

I loved the feeling and atmosphere of Twilight Princess, and I also loved the story. The world may not have a had a ton to do, but there were still a lot of things to do and I think the emptiness also added to the atmosphere, like in shadow of the colossus. And, the game also allows you TO TURN INTO A WOLF.

I loved Skyward Sword and didn't like Majora's Mask, but I respect your opinion and can see why you'd love it because... honestly, video games are very subjective. I find it rather frustrating when people have a personal hard time with a game and just declare "This game sucks!" What you'll love is determined by the order of games you play, what you personally prefer, whether you personally could figure stuff out, how old you were, etc. If you enjoy the motion controls and mechanics and don't mind a more linear game or a learning curve, you'll like Skyward Sword. If you enjoy a colorful art style and exploration and can handle lengthy sailing, you'll love The Wind Waker. If you enjoy a dark, creepy tone, time-based pressure and sidequests, you'll love Majora's Mask. Or maybe you like variety and enjoy all of them in different ways! We really shouldn't be surprised that there is little agreement on the best Zelda game, and we should have an open mind and consider the opinions and experiences of others. And I AM excited for Breath of the Wild.

I honestly think Wind Waker is the best in my opinion. Exploring the vast sea in search of treasure and adventure is just amazing to me. It was kinda frightening as a kid when you're sailing around on the King of Red Lions, and all of a sudden a storm started brewing and a Bigocto pops up and you have to knock out its eyes before it sucks you in. It was kinda intense. All in all, it was a fun adventure, and it still is.

You know it astounds how people cant see what's wrong with that game 1. the wasteland over world 2. items become souvenir as soon as you're done with the temple 3. apart from midna, really uninteresting and bland characters and badly executed villains 4. bad storyline in general 5. boring ass opening (collecting tears of light is the worst thing the series has done) 6. twilight realm was disappointing 7. the stakes never felt high since we don't even see what was so bad about the twilight 8. bosses were pathetic 9. ordon village and castle town were the only interesting areas in the whole game 10. The wolf was shallow (MM handles 3 transformations better than tp could handle 1 and with waay less dev time)

There are some things that are not so great with Twilight Princess and the other person named some, but there are good things about it. For example, the music, Midna, The Palace of Twilight, The Lakebed Temple, bomb - arrows, etc. All my opinion though. Some things in Twilight Princess, I felt like it was more of a chore than having fun doing (imo). An example is collecting the tears of light in the beginning. If Twilight Princess was your first Zelda game, then you probably do not see the "not so great things" about it (Not saying everyone sees flaws in the game that played another Zelda game first). When I first played it, I had high expectations for it because of previous Zelda games. That sort of ruined a little bit of my experience with it. I now play new Zelda games with a blank expectation. :)

I agree combat was good, its one of the few things I liked about the game 2. it had both great dungeons (arbiters grounds/lakebed) and horribly boring ones (forest temple and goron mines) 3. Im sorry but 1 character doesn't make up for a really weak cast. 4. but there were already monsters it basically makes a dangerous area "slightly more dangerous" that's pretty lame imo 5. I don't know why everyone hates the forsaken fortress personally I think WW has the fastest opening in the series and I already had most of the charts by the time the quest came up sooo 6. Yes I absolutely think those bosses were pathetic, argorok breathes fire into thin air and morpheel looks cool but its basically impossible to be him by him and zant's fight was just a retread of the other fights and it wasn't difficult either. 7. never got that feeling. 8. I don't really care what about people think, and neither should anyone that's reading this. I am replaying Skyward Sword and I am having fun playing it. Despite it's linearity and what-not, I enjoy the dungeons and motion controls quite a lot. I am also playing A Link to the Past and I recently finished Wind Waker and A Link Between Worlds. They're all fun, so really it's nearly impossible for me to place one over the other. Each game has something about them that I like more than the other.

zant's cool, i actually like him better than ghirahim, and I may be the only one but i actually love the beginning of twilight, it feels consequential, hopeless, and fleshed out, it also feels like this link is the most realistic in his involvement and introduction. He's not trying to save the world he's trying to save his ravaged village, while being the pawn of an indifferent imp, also he's introduced as the hero by becoming a sacred wolf, that's awesome. Also I like the twilight sections the story really shines in them, and I love how you can see the curtain of twilight from afar its a great effect. Overall while the game is structured like zelda, its story is much more daring almost feeling like a movie. As for Ganondorf I'm not unhappy with him, but I would've been happier if he got away or something, but that doesn't happen in zelda, also I think this game has inarguably the best combat system even better than skyward swords, and there's even a touching ode to the hero of majora and ocarina when ur attaining these awesome moves. Majora is my no. 1 tho

Majora's Mask is still #1 IMO. Great dungeons (mostly), great items, phenomenal atmosphere, solid controls, and the two best gimmicks I've ever seen in the masks and the 3 day limit. The masks allow tons of gameplay possibilities, and the timing lets the NPCs have scripted behavior, which makes them feel more real than ever before or since, meaning I care helping them more than ever. The time limit also gives a sense of inevitability, and the way that everything is ruined gives the game a unique dark atmosphere. The emphasis on sidequests gives the player the ability to dictate his own pace, and to do as much as he wants. I can't think of anything I dislike, except for the Great Bay Temple, and Majora's Mask as a villain.

Wind waker has more of a open world map. Giving more of a sense of adventure. Wanting to explore. While Twilight Princess had a huge map and decided to cut them off into what seemed like linear sections. Making it not fun to explore because it's taking you out of that 'huge' world and putting you on one segment. Cutting off the sense of adventure. At that point it's not exploring, it's more like putting you in a play pen. Not to mention in Wind waker it's a mystery what you'll find on a island. Where in Twilight Princess it's kind of a given that you'll find a cave here and it's going to be like almost every other cave you've come across. And chests up in high places always had a heart piece, so where's the fun in trying to get it if you know whats in it? I loved Twilight Princess but I have to agree with him. It gave me no real feeling to go explore as well, so I see where he's coming from.

Good points. I agree with almost all of it besides the heart piece portion. At a point in every Zelda game, if you want to complete it 100%, there's a heart piece hunt where there's an abundance of side puzzles to find them. Twilight Princess did take this a little far, they changed the heart container to 5 pieces instead of 4, but the excess of heart piece chests is in every Zelda game. On the main map of Twilight Princess there are not that many heart pieces in the overworld. In Wind Waker, there are entire islands dedicated to heart pieces. Why would you want to explore them either? What I'm saying is the heart piece thing is recurring, not just in TP.

Wind Waker is good but I wasn't a fan of the sailing either. There are a lot of the old Zelda games I haven't played so I can't give too many opinions on which is best, but from my own experience, I will say that Skyward Sword is my favourite.

+Christian Lampley I think OoT's overworld was way more accomplished for it's time. By the time TP was out, they could have easily done a lot more with the world. If you need an example, no need to look any further than the game that came before TP - Wind Waker's world was a lot more fun to explore even if the game was made 3-4 years earlier. So I guess it's down to bad design choice when it comes to Twilight Princess's empty overworld, cause the overworld of Ocarina of Time sure as hell didn't seem empty to anyone who was playing it back in '98.

can'thinkofaname I loved it. It has great characters, story, items, and side quests. Most people who don't like it just can't get behind the motion controls. There are other problems like it being linear, but I've never got that complaint. In actuality Twilight Princess is nearly as linear itself. The main problem imo is the difficulty. It is way too easy. But once you get behind the controls, it is actually really solid.

The same happened to me. I started playing Zelda back in 2012. My first Zelda game that I played was Twilight Princess for the GameCube. It's my favorite Zelda game ever. I also played Phantom Hourglass, Link's Awakening, A Link to the Past, The Minish Cap, and Skyward Sword.

Majora's mask is definitely fitting of the number #1 spot. The darker atmosphere of this game is absolutely terrific. That constant feeling you have in the back of your head throughout the whole game. That everyone and everything you see before you is going to vanish in the next 3 days. The side quests were really fun and they all gave you actual motivation to do them, not just to do them for a specific item. One of the best parts about this game is the character development. Almost every character has there own personal life and you really end up caring about them. For example, the postman. Yeah he just goes around town every day of the 3 days however there is so much more to that than just..that. He is so dedicated to his job that he cannot flee even when he wants too. The delivery schedule is the highest priority and he will only do whatever he is told, not whatever he tells himself. This is easily my all time favourite Zelda game and my favourite game of all time. The characters, the eerie plot, the masks added a creepy yet exciting atmosphere. Saving Pamela's Father was extremely emotional and getting the mask as a reward was hardly in consideration. At least for me, I was stuck in awe at the amazing and touching scene. This game all around is dark but was the odd ball out of the bunch. No Zelda. No Ganondorf. Only 4 temples? Time limit? WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS BULLSHIT! No but seriously if you look at it that way, it really is looked down upon. However, if you haven't ever played this game, I strongly recommend you pick it up. Whether you choose to play on the original N64, Virtual Console or the new 3DS version, the experience is amazing. Just noting, the 3DS version is slightly easier and there's a few mechanics that change the way the game plays. In the original, you can move time 12hrs from each other. From morning of the first day, to night, then second morning etc. However in the 3DS version, you can fast forward through time in very specific increments. This is just one of the few major changes in the 3DS version but the game is still just as great I promise you. This is all coming from a person who owns the original and 3DS versions and has 100% beat them both. Also, noting that the Bomber's notebook is a lot more advanced than it was previously in the original title. It's way more useful which can be seen as a bad or good thing. On one hand it makes the game easier and less confusing however one of the greatest aspects to this game has to be how its so intriguing. You discover new side quests on your own, it really feels like an adventure. Majora is an extremely odd and quirky final boss in this game. It isn't the usual Ganondorf this time around. Majora was a demon which was sealed away by this ancient tribe to prevent its misuse and its horrifying powers. However, that tribe has vanished and the mask was exposed. How a lonely child who was a troublemaker and had a hard time making friends, had fallen victim to this horrible mask and then he was played as a puppet and the mask did the work from there on out. It controlled everything he did and it had incredibly terrifying powers. A moon which was hovering over the land of Termina throughout the whole game was very disturbing. Everywhere you headed, you encountered different people and their problems which eventually led up to being caused by Skull Kid, which was the boy from the Lost Woods in Ocarina of Time and was controlled by a demon. Then at the end of the game, where you call the giants to physically stop the moon, just when you think you've won and it was skull kid all this time, the mask's power was only just beginning. I have to stop here before I bleed my fingers out. Pick up this game, you won't regret it. *If you read this whole comment, you deserve a cookie.*

WARNING: THIS CONTAINS A MASSIVE RANT AGAINST MAJORA'S MASK, BEAR IN MIND THAT I DO RESPECT YOUR OPINION, I JUST WANT TO EXPRESS MY OWN AND PROBABLY GO INTO A DECENT CONVERSATION ABOUT IT. DO NOT READ IF ANY KIND OF HATE TOWARDS THIS GAME OFFENDS YOU. It's overrated and it tried way to hard to be dark...it doesn't FEEL like a Zelda game because of the apocalyptic world that it essentially gives you and that stupid time limit. It wasn't needed at all, it was just an attempt at being dark and "edgy." The time mechanic was completely pointless, and it was part of the reason why I ragequit right after I beat the first dungeon. The other reason being the sidequests. There were so many by the time I beat the first dungeon to the point where I got 100% lost in trying to figure out where the hell I was supposed to go to advance through the game. Instead I kept wasting my time doing sidequest after sidequest fruitlessly trying to find what I needed to do to just move on with the game, and I never found it. I didn't FEEL like I was helping anybody because I could just go back in time and essentially undo everything I did on the second and third day and it, technically, never happened. I NEVER felt motivated to help anyone because I could easily just say "Well, I WOULD help this person on day two or three, but I'll just go back in time soon anyway so it might as well have never happened!" Kafei and Anju? Never happened! It made the game feel like a pointless waste of time. And that's another thing. Ocarina of Time handled the "going back in time" mechanic so much better. Making you loose all of your Rupees (regardless of that stupid bank), bombs, arrows, etc? Now I have to waste even more time trying to get all that stuff back when I could easily play Ocarina of Time and not have to worry about that, because the player shouldn't have to worry about it period. Speaking of which, the ocarina felt way too forced in Majora's Mask. From my experience, I remember VIVIDLY having to constantly play it to slow down time, go back in time, rinse and repeat until I ragequit. Meanwhile in Ocarina of Time I rarely played it at all unless I was lazy and wanted to warp somewhere or it had a very specific use in a dungeon. Also, the time limit is just plain garbage. I'll say it again, it doesn't FEEL like a Zelda game because the average player feels 100% rushed from Point A to Point B because of the time limit. And I don't care what anyone says, slowing it down doesn't make it any better. From what I played, even when I slowed it down it still went by way too fast. It causes stress where there shouldn't be stress, and I know a few people that wouldn't be able to play this game because they get easily stressed by anything involving a time limit. A whole GAME like this would probably end up ruining them if they went into it not knowing that the entire game is just one big time limit. Also, the time limit being active in dungeons makes it even worse because now you're not only rushed from Point A to Point B, you're now rushed to actually beat a dungeon too. Exploration? Adventure? What are those? It sucks those elements straight out of the game and you're left with "Time Limit the Game". And forcing you to quit when you save the game? That's one of the worst ways to implement a save feature, period. I regret ever picking the game up and I regret every minute I wasted on it. Back then, I struggled to save up what little allowance I had to pick it up after being told that it was good by virtually everyone. What I got was the complete opposite and it was essentially a less glitchy version of Sonic 06. And I couldn't even get a refund when I returned it a day later, so it was literally a waste of hard earned money and I'll never be able to get that money back.

Burraku Dusk Sorry you didn't like it. I guess Majora is a love it or hate it type of game. For me the time cycle gave the game so much more depth and every time I discovered the next piece to move me forward it felt like a true accomplishment. I felt like I was the one adventuring through this world not Link. I hated it at first but when I matured up a bit and went through it again I thought it was one of the most brilliant games I've ever played. I never really felt rushed through the game because I could extend the time and go back to the beginning when ever i wanted. Your complaint is pretty cheap since the game effectively gives you short cuts by permanently unlocking the important tools. The time limit to me felt more like a time schedule. If you think about it though by stopping Majora you effectively prevent the world from becoming as messed up as it was in the first place. The Skull kid broke the world and you effectively repair it by going back in time with Majora's Mask Its my favorite Legend of Zelda game

twilight princess was freakin awesome man, it was kinda dark, but not just in a "black-ish" way lol. I loved the dungeons and the story, but what did really bother me is the fact that Zelda was too distant... distant because she rarely appeared in the game (and the game has HER NAME on it's title) and her personality was distant too, i mean she said some cool things but she was just cold, without any emotions... but the game was really cool, in my opinion

in other zeldas she existed until the end too, like wind waker as tetra, and in spirit tracks, as a spirit. in ocarina of time she appeared many times as zelda and sheik. and what do you mean with "you didn't know"? how can you know if I already played the first zelda or not?

Twilight Princess had the best Princess Zelda in Design and personality of all Games. Zelda has the freaking Triforce of Wisdom and this was the only game where she actually was intelligent. I hate what they made of her in Skyward sword. She is not freaking peach goddammit.

I've only completed a handful, but I really love the Zelda games. Even if I can't appreciate them PERSONALLY as games, I love hearing what everyone else has to say about them. And I can imagine Dash winking at the "20% less cool" line, which is funny because it was actually in Rainbow Rocks.

Really? I didn't think there was such a divided opinion on Twilight Princess. I thought it was a fantastic game. Loved it from start to finish. I agree with top choice though, Majora's Mask is a fucking masterpiece.

I loved Twilight Princess! I considered it a remixed Ocarina of Time, that just expanded upon character/race stories exponentially! Plus, I liked the dark tone. I love ur videos, but I loved TP (hehe). I'm the Zelda fan that's likes realism, so I wasn't ever a super big fan of WW. Good game, but I want the more realistic looking and toned Zeldas. And thanks to u, I really want another one like Majora's Mask, or a legit remake! The same artisitic, but real life motifs of sadness just hasn't been done like that from Nintendo. Since, well, MM!

It was Twilight Princess for me. I ADORE IT!!! Still, I prefer Majora's Mask. Ocarina of Time is cool, but it's not my favourite. Skyward Sword, Minish Cap, A Link Between Worlds, Phantom Hourglass, The Wind Waker, etc; ALL AMAZING! The Legend of Zelda is the only video-game I enjoy.
