I have no idea why the Buffalo franchise let him go? When that trade came over, (as a bruins fan) the first place I went was to Buffalo fans to find out who this goalie was - didn't bother with the Boston clickbait media. Clueless saying that a 6'2" rookie goalie, out of UMaine, was going to be the future of the bruins 🙄 He's too short - last american-born, USA trained Stanley cup winning goalie? 1994 Ritcher- NY Rangers. (2011 Cup Colorado native Tim Thomas, played/trained overseas) This hot shot kid sold tickets, but he wasn't going to take us to playoffs. We were in trouble if we didn't find someone soon. So with all due respect to taylor? Awesome player! I wanted to know who the hell ullmark was - because that's what we lacked- A starting goalie. And we have an outstanding goalie coach - he scooped up this guy and gave him a no movement contract for the first two years? THAT no movement clause peaked my interest Some sabers fans just said - "watch his highlights and you'll get it.." and then they cried 😢 when I saw his highlights? Holy jumpin! I saw a nuances of Bruins cup winning goalies, Thomas, cheevers- but I also saw a goalie playing injured. Turns out he was So I'm thinking to myself ... 'This guy plays THIS good while clearly injured? Not able to make recoveries, crawling around on the ice stopping pucks, lifting his stick making a save,while he's on his stomach facing down? Whaaaaaat? So, then -What does he play like healthy!?!? Lol! Sabers fans seemed more upset at losing Ullmark than Hall.. and I wanted to know why. I get it now. Thank you to your scout, who picked up this diamond in the rough - was told he'd never make it to the NHL Apparently when he got the call up from Buffalo when he was in sweden? His mother didn't even know what the NHL was. His hockey goalie career was a lost cause by then - it was a surprise to everybody Buffalo's got good scouts! Now you just need a decent GM/ owner that can glue this talent together. I want to see Buffalo in the top 6 eastern conference, firmly back in playoffs.. Southern New York has taken over everything! Time to represent eastern conference hockey! Where hockey players are not tan, and you actually have natural ice where you live

No defense in buffalo back then look what he has done in Boston. He won the veznia and the all time point and wins record. Yes swayman is a top 10 goalie as well but not as good as Ulmark.

( just being snarky, don't get mad) As a professional sabres fan, you should know that Ullmark has been playing injured since he came into the NHL I'm just a dumb bear 🐻 and that was one of the first things I discovered about him Many Sabres fans told me that when he came over to my Bruins. I've seen his highlights - he's injured throughout many of them. Watch him after he makes the save. Can't recover, so he goes to those beast - heroic measures to stop the puck on rebounds. Turns out, after he had the double hip surgery? Your starting goalie got injured and he had to be called up a couple of weeks before his rehab was done He never recovered from surgery, Sabres didn't give him a chance. Ya gotta take care of your goalies over there, guys! 🤓 Maybe don't trash them until you know what's going on.. He was the Tasmanian devil playing like this injured? Imagine this guy healthy! 2022- here we are! Say thank you to the scout that found the Lost Linus, told he'd never make the nhl, wasn't going to be an NHL professional goalie... He was doomed to MODO hockey at best Somebody over there saw something in him Yet Sabres trainers didn't take care of the boy! You almost broke him! now look at him fly!

@@scottinnh88 yeah-I was not popular at all with bruins fans last season because I knew ullmark would be the future of the Bruins, not a 6'2" USA born & trained college boy... With all due respect to Jeremy-he doesn't have European training, and elite teams aren't going to have starting goalies under 6 ft 3in. I was a goalie skills coach during the era NHL gods were shrinking goalie gear-pads blockers trappers masks goalie pants, even shirts, all got smaller Done intentionally to create higher-scoring games. Nobody noticed in one season the NHL GAA nearly doubled? They thought shooters got better LOL! They shrunk goalie gear. so what was the solution? Import the most flexible elephants doing ballet from Eastern Europe that you can get your hands on! also have massive respect and trust goalie Bob implicitly He's not going to be replaceable. 20 years of pumping out elite goalies for this team like no other. You probably know more about forward lines than I ever would, except from the perspective of defense. Goalies happen to be my thing going back to Ken Dryden and Gerry Cheever's I'm aware that the last USA born & solely trained goalie to win the Stanley cup was 1994 Richer - Rangers And American goalies are going to be a thing of the past unless they get European training. Tim Thomas played in Europe, Jonathan quick in two olympics-he was trained with Europeans and immediately got a Stanley cup the same year he participated in the 2012 Olympics. That training got him the Stanley cup! USA trained born college boys are snacks to Alex ovechkin. Total respect for Jeremy swayman, his folks live about 4 hours from me Sweeney is an outstanding general manager- I've always liked him on the bruins organization, and a hockey player. I have no idea whose souls he sells to the devil to get these deals!
