Top 10 Longest F1 Circuits - Improved Edition
In this video the top 10 of the longest Formula One circuits. A compilation of abandoned race tracks, operational race tracks and street circuits.
This is an improved version of an earlier video from march 2018. In this new video we have maps and a voiceover, by Simon Smith, with information about the race circuits.
Actually, this is the top 10 longest Formula One circuits visited by myself (Herman Liesemeijer, founder of the Circuits of the past website and KZbin Channel). But we show you also the real top 10 of longest F1 tracks, as well as the official positions of the circuits in this video.
We visit the following circuits:
Österreichring 0:22
Rouen-les-Essarts 2:13
Old Hockenheim 4:08
Old Charade Clermont-Ferrand 7:37
AVUS 9:19
Reims-Gueux 11:43
Old Monza 13:58
Old Spa-Francorchamps 16:51
Old Nürburgring 19:03
Pescara 20:48
At the end of the video you see the complete top 14 longest F1 circuits!
If you want more information about the circuits in this video, please visit the website: www.circuitsof...
On the website you can also download a free Ebook about 7 abandoned race tracks you can visit legally.
Sprecial thanks to Simon Smith for the voiceover. Visit also his channel: / higherplaingames
Also special thanks to Yuri Bruschi for climbing the Monza banking and the bicycle crash. Visit also his channel: / @yuribruschi

There was an F1 race at Sebring? Man, don't even want to think about what that race would look like with today's cars. Place is bumpier than Monaco. You know what's crazy is that Pescara's only the the third-longest street circuit in Italy to host a World Sportscar Championship race. Targa Florio (72 km, and that's the *short* version) and Mille Miglia (a single lap of a roughly 1000-mile circuit) both blew it out of the water.

Yeah Sebring is bumpy. But there was also another very bumpy F1 circuit. If you watch next Fridays video you will experience which one that was :)

The obsession with speed in the inter-war years is related to the Futurist movement. Those guys were batshit crazy, adored war, chaos and speed and many of them -- at least in Italy -- were fascist supporters. Circuits such as Monza were built based on futurist ideals, that's why it's so fast.

There are 2 tracks longer than Österreichring and Rouen-les-Essarts left out of the list: current Spa (7,004 km) and 2010's Bahrain (6,299 km)

Tilke actually want to modernize the old Hockenheim track by widening the straights and enlarge the run-offs. But the circuit bosses wanted a new compact circuit. So it is not Tilke's fault that old Hockenheim was destroyed.

Red Bull Ring owners have done some work to restore old layout but due to people living near by, for now its ??? whenever we can have it back. I would welcome it back because then it could allow even Endurance races (which could maybe even allow 6hours of Red Bull Ring or something like that).

The Poeple at the Nürburgring must have been like: "Sprich Deutsch du Hurensohn!", that's a meme in Germany and means something like "Speak German you son of a prostitute!" It's not meant angry, the problem is that others laugh at Germans trying to speak English so we don't want to even try it. I'm sorry for this.
