❤As a Korean, I instinctively feel a sense of pride in sharing the same nationality as a dancer like Kim Ki-min. He was fortunate to meet teachers from Russia when he was young and received perfect instruction from them. I remember him saying in an interview that when he learned Russian and began to understand his Russian teacher's teachings, he was amazed at how beautiful the words were. He received the leading Russian ballet education and grew to perform ballet perfectly. While legendary dancers like Baryshnikov are admired in the Mariinsky Ballet, I am happy to live in the same era and experience Kim Ki-min's performances firsthand.

After watching this and seeing so many very fine dancers practicing their art, it's hard to escape the conclusion that Baryshnikov is the best especially after the "Don Quixote" Basilio . . . simply breathtaking.

For me, it is Baryshnikov at the top , always and forever. I would have chosen the famous "Cups" solo from Don Quixote: Baryshnikov took their breath away that night. (Not for the topic of this video, but as a "favorite", i also love the video of Baryshnikov and McBride dancing Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux. He was an excellent Balanchine interpreter.) My second, equal, favorites (in any variation) are Stephen McCrea and Vadim Muntagirov. My third equal favorites are Angel Corrella, Julio Bocca, Jose Manuel Carreno, Marcelo Gomes, Herman Corneo (all, again in any variation). I attended the Swan Lake performance shown here: it was the best Corella ever danced - simply stellar (IMHO). For Diana and Acteon, I would have chosen Carreno's performance with his cousin - it's such a tour de force.

Thanks for making this it’s absolutely lovely. I was surprised you didn’t add Daniil Simkin he definitely belongs amongst the best. For me besides my favorite Baryshnikov Kimin Kim is the next for me!

All these dancers have the technique and athleticism required of male classical dancers, plus they all have that particular free flowing artistry, the feline quality of movement that differentiates the great dancer from the truly magnificent. Yes please, a part two - maybe of younger dancers as another comment suggested. (Then you will have to do part three - ballerinas!)

Единственные, кто по-настоящему танцуют - Барышников, Сарафанов, Васильев. Большинство остальных танцоров выполняют достаточно чисто сложные трюки. Мое мнение.

Obviamente para mi el mejor entre buenísimos bailarines es Kimin Kim. Es magico, una estrella fulgurante en el ballet, q supera para mi ampliamente a cualquier otro!!!

Барышников один из самых выдающихся танцовщиков 20 века. Из ныне танцующих мои фавориты С. Полунин и Кимин Ким. Но вся подборка это блестящие танцовщики.

I had the chance to see all’of them ( not Sarafanov)and my 2 best memories were Kumakagaw who impressed me by his élégance and technical précision.Kim a star out of the time appearing in the firmament of classicalballet❤❤❤❤

They're all excellent; only Casalinho is not yet quite up to the standard of the others. I'd love to see a second part, perhaps including comparison between a great dancer of the past and one who is current. Suggest some young dancers such as Potskhishvili of Georgia, Shale Wagman, Aran Bell -- there are many. Thanks for posting.

The one I thought was not quite at the standard of the others is Corales/Swan Lake - he avoids the turns landed in arabesque as shown to perfection by Muntagirov or Zelensky. Would love to see Friedeman Vogel included, plus someone from the Paris Opéra Ballet.

I feel like Carlos Acosta’s Acteon should’ve been here. Maybe he doesn’t do triple tour en l’air, but it think it just looks a bit more solid/clean overall.

Carlos Acosta's version is way more strong than antonio casalinho but actually Antonio's pirouettes combinations are just amazing with fabulous triple tour en l'air (even if they are not exactly 3) i personally prefer Antonio's version and i am pretty sure that even if he is not physically strong enough he is young and have very good potential for being on the top dancers of all time like baryshnikov

@@Carlos-dancingfan Coincido pero aunque creo q en un tiempo Casalinho puede llegar muy lejos no está todavía en el mismo nivel de los bailarines q se presentaron. Además x mucho q progrese no tiene ni por asomo esa imagen física de fuerza, potencia y presencia escénica de Carlos Acosta. Dudo q se parezca en ese sentido al gran Acosta.

Барышникова сравнивать с кем то некорректно это другая эпоха это легенда!!!! А сейчас другие требования ктанцорам и технические и данные физические все гораздо сложнее и вращений больше и трюки с прыжками и должен быть шаг как у женщин! Пример Малахов и цискаридце ❤

Corrales Had tattoos? Unbelievable and unacceptable. Yuka Had a costume that didn't allow you to see how he moved. ONE dark leg and one light leg in that light level didn't allow you to see anything.

Танцуют только Барышников, Кимин Ким, Сарафанов и Ангел Корелл, остальные - подпрыгивающие гимнасты, и мне не хватает здесь замечательных Цискаридзе, Зеленского, Рузиматова или Родькина.
