i refuse to tame or even breeds fellow tribemates Shadowmanes, none of there abilities make sense! why do they go invisible why can the swim very fast why can the jump really high? they just got a creature and slapped abilities on it with absolutely no thought. not sure why otter rated so high. otters are my favourite creature in real life i think there so gracefull and cute. in game there not bad they have there uses but sinomacrops have pretty much deleted every other shoulder pet in the game

The Maewing absolutely deserves to be on this list. It’s a mammal, just a rare egg-laying mammal: a monotreme, like the platypus and echidna. It still produces milk with mammary glands, hence the mammal classification. 😉

There’s arguably more then enough creatures worthy of needing a tlc that didn’t make the vote last time. Rules: Can’t include any creatures that were part of the original top ten so suggesting them won’t count as votes, but can include honorable mentions from part 1 if enough people choose to suggest those. Creatures that simply got a small added ability(mini tlc) still count, for example the carno who got bleed damage but nothing else. I love the mammals in Ark, in fact there are many times where I prefer using mammals over dinos. I wish there were more, but to be fair I could say the same thing about dinos, birds or aquatic creatures. That all being said, one mammal that I’m kind of disappointed in is the Sabertooth. I wish it was a more integral creature needed in the game. It’s not useless, but I just feel such a well known creature should offer more. I hope in Ark 2 they get a new model(more robust build/accurate short tail/new abilities)so they can be a go to mount for more people.

Basilosaurus will always be my #1, especially after defending against the first attempt at an offline raid at a water base I had and running away with a full kit and a ton of explosives from the raider it ate.

Maywings do count as mammals, they lay eggs but are essentially platypus which is a mammal. Laying eggs doesn't disqualify something from being a mammal. This is what counts as a mammal: Mammals have hair or fur, are warm-blooded, most are born alive, the young are fed milk produced by the mother's mammary glands, and they have a more complex brain than other animals.

Griffin, Maewings, Shadowmanes are hybrids of Mammals and another type so I can see why they are on the list. I was hoping to see the Astrodelphis and Chalicotherium on here and Megatherium higher on the list, however it was a great list and video.

Maewings are not a fusion creature. They're just a giant, gliding Platypus. Also mammals do produce eggs they're just fertilized and develop internally. Several species of Shark and every single fully aquatic reptile has developed the same breeding strategy.

Would the shadowmane be counted as a mammal or a fish? Considering it is the lion fish lion it implies fish routes, but this doesn’t mean it’s not a mammal. However it being partly aquatic and partly terrestrial means perhaps it could be an amphibian? However amphibians normally lay eggs in water, and Shadowmanes don’t lay eggs at all (as far as I know). Perhaps it’s pescatarian diet implies that at once the shadowmane was an amphibious creature but through evolution (whether natural or forced by rockwell) it evolved to be mammalian as there are no oceans (kind of) on the LifeBoat.

Nature has some creatures in nature that are born different from their usual ways in their classification. Mammals like Echidnas and Platypus are the only known mammals to lay eggs instead of giving birth to live young. Certain fish like guppies and some sharks give birth to live young. Maewings are a genetically altered Platypus made to nurture babies and is the only mammal in Ark to lay eggs. Shadowmanes are that of a chimera, having genetic properties of both a big cat and a lion fish. given its appearance, it appears more fish with the lion fish spines, the scaley body, potential gills, and fins but in the shape of a large cat and givens birth to live young. Problem with the shadowmane it its combination of 2 separate classes of animal, Mammal and Fish which created the controversy of it being in the poles. I would of cut it out of the polls due to its chimera status, same with others like the Griffin which HLNA would probably also call a chimera but add some other things like how well known they are in some fairytales or put on coat of arms.

The mammals seem to be the better utility creatures sabertooths are excellent for caving, wolves and hyenadons are great guards with their pack boost, chalicotherium's are also great turret alternatives gigantopithecus with armor make great cannonfodder paraceratheriums are great tanks you can use to blow up walls easily, dinopithecus great for combat As well and the mammoth is great for raids with its boost.
