Yes - Gucci Guilty Absolute is jaw-dropping. Cold weather masculine perfection. A lot of Creeds are overhyped, but IMO Royal Oud is not one of them.

I have both & also recommend: Beau De Jour - Tom Ford… Viking - Creed… Monsieur - Frederic Malle… London Oud - Fragrance Du Bois… Spicy Leather - Ferragamo…

Love Beau De Jour and Viking is the next Creed I was planning on getting for sure. Grey Vetiver edp always had this vegetal gel vibe on my skin that I never really got along with. Could be that chlorine thing you mentioned. I just prefer my vetivers a bit brighter. Platinum Egoiste a better pick for me. And Equus pour homme a great shout out!

Yeah was surprised when I smelled the Tom Ford wasn't what I was expecting but the chlorine vibe is a positive scent memory for me and the light grapefruit citrus makes it an easy wear so worked for me but really was one of my first real vetiver based fragrances. Haven't got my nose on Guerlain's yet. What vetivers would you recommend checking out next?

@@tzfragrance I will say that Guerlain's Vetiver edt is a reference vetiver for me. Sebastian mentioned in a recent post that the newest re-bottled version is brighter than the ones in the listerine bottles (the one I have) but it's still good, so that's a MUST pickup before it disappears. Other vetivers I can recommend are the vintage Carven Vetiver (rare), Terrarossa from Profumo di Firenze (also rare) and Nishane's Sultan Vetiver. Franck Olivier's Sunrise Vetiver a decent budget option. I know that Issey Miyake just released a vetiver L'eau d'Issey flanker, but it's getting more difficult to find a good vetiver for a good price these days. For example, I just sampled Vetiver Bourbon from Parfums d'Empire recently and it's good but not worth the price imo. Seems like good prominent vetivers are being phased out slowly.

New follower but right off the bat I have to point you towards Montana Parfum d'Homme by Montana. Chris from Scent Land did a review of it and he thinks it is close to Aramis Havana. Hope this helps. I have Montana Parfum d'Homme and it is a damn fine scent.

Great list. My top 3 are: Creed Royal Oud, Chanel Platinum Egoiste, and Tom Ford for Men Extreme (Discontinued). I wish I could find a slightly nicer, more classy version, or Gucci Guilty Absolute.

vintage Drakkar from the 80' is different from what is sold today. Duc de Vervins is more Drakkar than the actual Drakkar.
