Top 10 Misunderstood Pokemon Typings

While I wasn't gonna go on a tangent on which Dark types aren't fully evil, if you believe Umbreon doesn't deserve its Dark typing, look at its Sun and Moon Pokedex entry. Sun -"When this Pokémon becomes angry, its pores secrete a poisonous sweat, which it sprays at its opponent's eyes. Moon - "With its black fur, it blends into the darkness. It bides its time, and when prey appears, this Pokémon goes for its throat, and then eats it." While it's not "evil" it is unnecessarily aggressive, which is a characteristic of the dark type. Regardless, this Pokemon is associated with darkness and deserves the "Dark" type, while Pokemon associated with "light", like Luxray, don't. And while Greninja isn't "evil", its origin, the ninja, is a dishonorable assassin/ spy and definitely beneath its Samurai counterpart. (especially in Japanese culture)

Also keep in mind that the Sun Pokémon wouldn't be a Fire type because the SUN ISN'T MADE OF FIRE. It's made of incredibly heated gases like Hydrogen, Helium, Carbon that became plasma due to said heat. And the steel typing makes even more sense since a decent amount of the Sun's mass is made of metals like iron and Magnesium.

Lily Mega Eevee Nope. In order for fire to form, there needs to be oxygen, an element the Sun has very little of. There's not enough oxygen for there to be fire on the Sun, or at least not enough for it to burn for the time the Sun has existed. EDIT: Fire can't exist on the Sun at all. Fire is the rapid oxidation of a flamable material that requires oxygen. Even though there's oxygen on the sun, all of the other materials on the Sun aren't flamable die to their already incredibly high temperatures.

according to wikipedia the composition of the sun is 71.1% hydrogen, 27.4% helium, and 1.5% heavier elements, and the production of energy is by fusion of hydrogen molecules that produce helium, so the metal part is wrong

Gustavo Medeiros Wikipedia does also state that there is some iron and magnesium, though those do make up the 1.5% you mentioned. While, Solgaleo's steel typing is mostly based on alchemy, I still figured it was worth noting that the Sun has some metal, albeit not much in relation to the entire sun.

Ese1Pac for Celebi psychic type makes more sense, and psychic/fairy is a fairly overdone typing. It's kinda similar to looking at Jirachi and guessing the steel typing. I relate it to Dialga in the sense that steel typings may have something to do with time, since Jirachi likes to sleep a lot

Absol and Incineroar, and *maybe* Greninja aren't inherently evil. Incineroar is a performer and is known to be reckless. I may be pushing it with Greninja, BC it's basied off ninja, but not all GHOST pokemon are dark type, and some of them are pretty evil. I still believe that Luxray would make more sense as an Electric/Dark-type. Not only does it's design look menacing and intimidating (Lol, ability reference), it learns a few useful Dark-type moves (Most common for use is Crunch), and as you stated with Absol, not all Dark-types (Evil-types) have to be mischievous, cruel, or spiteful. It's quite a ferocious pokemon, but it's mostly just doing so to protect it's young.

Jordan Williams electross hunt for prey, swellow hunt wurmple all the time, heck frosslass puts your frozen corps on display but none of them are dark types. Hunting in order to eat and defending yourself isn't malicious or mischievous. I call BS on all the Dark Types besides Absol being all evil. Umbreon, Hounddour, Houndoom, Shiftry, and Greninja do not really do anything evil. Heck Shifty is believed to be a guardian of the forest.

Most of them have pretty violent descriptions in the pokedex (though it's the case for many pokemon that aren't dark types...) or are based on evil/unlawful/shady things. Houndoom is a hellhound, greninja is a ninja (aka asian assassin), etc. And in Japan, it's actually called evil type, not dark type. Though it's true that plenty of dark types aren't evil or unnecessarily agressive. Darkrai from the movies is a good example, and N from black and white, who is secretly a zoroark (It has to be canon or the cutscenes with the zoroark wouldn't make sense) wants the best for pokemon, wich is far from evil. (Also, the zorua and zoroark from the movies weren't evil either)

The Eggsecute line are Coconut trees with Coconuts that would have a fluid inside. About Dark Types: Dark does not always mean they are evil per se. It means they can be dishonorable, mischievous, enigmatic, brutal, or literally something that comes from the darkness or night. Take Umbreon as an example. It is not really 'Evil' nor is it ever said to be but it IS essentially the Moon Bunny, as in the bunny on the moon that is seen in Japan, and therefore of the night.
