i actually thought fjordur was a map wildcard made but then i realized that all non story dlcs are community made. i think thats the best example of a community which loves a game. and i am a part of this community too, ark ist just my favourite game. props to nekatus for fjordur, thats a really cool map!

There was a map like this, but the modder gave up on the project after several difficulties including buggy and broken dev kit. It was a shame, because the map was stunningly beautiful.

Huge thanks for showcasing Glacius among the list! While the upcoming update will bring the playable area up to Valguero-size, there is tons more planned for Glacius. Namely the hiemswyrm, more unique creatures & variants as well as a crazy frozen aberrant cave network. Cheers!

Fjordur is perhaps the most beautiful, most detailed, and most complete mod map experience I have ever seen (and I think I've played most of them). The details in the landscapes and ruins are absolutely breathtaking. With a Lord of the Rings mod this map IS middle Earth, and plain, it's a genius level rendition of everything you ever wanted in Ark. If it had Story Mode notes it would be perfection, but as it is, Fjordur is a Masterpiece of game world building. Bravo @Nekatus. You are the champ.

The Volcano is 1 of the best maps I've played and I'm glad to see it on here. I've done a series on The Chasm and just waiting for an update on the map but it was a lot of fun, Fjordur is on my list of maps I must play and looking forward to it. I\m surprised Anartika is not on this list but people are entitled to their opinions.

7:58 Yay here's my Talamh \o/ Such an underrated map, with* ruins to die for (...literally) and some cool biomes. Though lately it seems to have an overspawn issue and my potato can't handle it, I hope it's gonna be fixed soon. I'm surprised Tiamat wasn't in this "almost there" list, btw, and Exogenesis is not without merit either. 0:44 This one feels like a map made by a builder, as in, it has AMAZING ruins, but the rest of the map is aggressively meh. The biomes themselves are boring imho, and there are very few spots where there is a nice environment, a cool view, an interesting landmark... again, outside of the ruins. 1:32 It's a fine, functional map. It's a nice alternative to The Island if you're tired of it and/or want some DLC content. My only issue with that map is that, outside of the edges of the individual islands, it doesn't have enough water for my taste, but obviously ymmv. 2:10 I haven't touched it in a very long while, but you're making me regret it ! 3:14 Sorry, I hate Aberration too much to try this one XD 4:01 I love single biome based maps FTW. This is typically the kind of map I hope becomes official someday. Though as you said, it's more a complete DLC than a "mere" map. 4:33 It is SO PUNISHING ! XD (which obviously is a good thing) 5:33 Honestly this map is a building paradise, but... that's about it :P 6:08 I wish it were still being updated, I love it so much (and historically it was the first map to offer* element nodes for farming). There's a very infamous bug in the redwoods of this map, that makes it crash. In singleplayer it's easy to simply avoid the bad, bad area ; but on a server ? Forget about it. There'll always be one dummy to go near it and ruin the experience for everyone else. 7:00 The perfect "everything map", honestly. No high concept, no new biome, nothing too fancy really, but everything you need if you want a thorough Ark experience. Though I give it bonus points for having an "Aberration island" which is a nice change from everyone putting Aberration assets in Aberration-like caves. 8:20 Of course. A great concept, original ideas for biomes, great ruins and caves, obviously skilled and experienced people behind it, additional content (to the point this is already its own DLC, and Nekatus worked more as a project manager than most map devs out there). I wonder what its chances are of becoming official someday ? I mean clearly it's popular, and made with care, but it uses Atlas assets and I wonder if that's not the reason why it has not been "promoted" to official at this point. Have you already made a Top10 of modded creatures ?

I honestly hope not. Wildcard would rip this map apart trying to make it official. It would ruin the magical aspects this map has to offer as a mod map. I think Volcano or Glacius would be a better option as they don’t add as much custom stuff and maintain a more vanilla styled map and experience. Fjordur adds a lot of AWSOME features that wildcard only offers in paid DLC maps and some limited content from other non dlc maps. They would undoubtedly remove that stuff along with the fenerir and skins which are some of the coolest things ever!

Valhalla redux IS MASSIVE and the floating island is animated which is super cool. The only criticism I have with it is that it’s missing the redwoods and caves.

I LOVE Caballus. I was hoping it would be number 1. I would love to see this map as an official map. Only issue I have with it is spawns sometimes seem to be over populated and there is no way to tame the deinonychus on the map. They have no nests, spawn all over like raptors and (despite info I read) they can not be knock out tamed as Ive tried and couldn’t do it. The horses also randomly change colors. So if you think that pretty painted black and white horse will stay the same next time you log in, it won’t. But I feel like if it was officially these problems would be worked out.

Antartika truly should be on this list instead of Glacius. Glacius wasn't made to work with mods as the steam page states which limits play. Antartika did the cold thing better and is much more mod friendly. The Chasm is a nice map but very unfinished but Trappel has other projects to work on which I understand.

Although I can understand the idea of comparing Antartika with Glacius, they are in reality 2 totally different beasts. Glacius is solely focused on offering the hardest survival experience in a cold-based environment and it does so without any contenders. Additionally, the map was the first one to include arctic-based weather events like blizzards, even before Fjördur and Antartika did. To this day, no other maps offer a cold-based custom player-condition like my Frostbite and its UI overlay. Sure, the map doesn't support mods. I've been aware from the very start that using a custom PGD would create mod issues and yet, it gave me the flexibility to offer unique new structures, items, creatures and more in a single package without resorting to creating a TC (total conversion). At the end of the day, ou are entitled to your own opinion. However, nitpicking at the mod issue and deliberatly discarding everything else the map has to offer just to promote another one is cheesy at best.

I'd like to see the ocean map on console, along with Olympis and, fyorder. Of course I know fyorder is coming. And I know alot of people are looking forward to Ark 2 but I'd really love more maps for ark. Ark is a great game and I'm happy playing it. But I don't have a powerful pc I can't even get my hands on the new gen gen consoles my original Xbox one has a hard time running Ark. I'd be looking forward to Ark 2 more if scalpers weren't buying all the damn series x and doubling their price. Plus I just can't trust sketchy sites so give me what I pay for when it's a normal price. How can I trust it when it's double. At this point if I'm spending 1000 dollars I might as well look into building my own pc I know buying a name brand pre-built gaming pc like Alienware is like 2k and up so maybe I could build one for 1k. Do scalpers not know the whole appeal to gaming consoles is its much easier and convenient then picking out a high end pc and its cheaper. When you make it expensive and inconvenient your just pushing people to pc and killing the console industry. These companies have to know that if scalping continues on their products it won't have a good impact. Why is nobody doing anything.
