I met Keanu about 16 years ago at the premier of the Matrix movie in NYC. I worked at the movie theater as a cleaner and server. The entire night, I saw all the stars in the movie come and go without any of them looking at me or saying hello to me, perhaps because of my color and the cheap uniform I had on. For 16 years, I have never forgotten the event that will follow the first few hours after I begun my shift at work that evening. Keanu walked up to me and asked me how I was doing!! I said to myself "are you really talking to me?" Believe it or not, he actually came up to me and showed compassion and care. That was the last thing I ever expected anyone to do that evening. He proceed to ask me about my job and where I come from. And I told him I was from Ghana and have been working at the theater for about a year. He chatted with me for about 5 mins but it felt like forever. He then gave me a hug I will never forget. He is truly a good human being. I don't usually leave comments on YT but this is to confirm this video. Keanu is good.

Cool story, but I have to say, I worked in retail for nearly 2 decades - it's not your color, it's just normal to tune out the people working around you. One has to actually make a conscious effort to not do so, which is what's so special about Keanu. Though let's be fair, if an unknown person did it, it would probably seem kind of creepy to be singled out for no apparent reason, lol.

Tanks for sharing your experience, I've been working as a waitress, in 4 and 5 stars restaurants, and when you bring them dishes some people turn their head, looking at you saying: tank you ! but the most don't even move their harms or hand and you get stressed just bring them the dishes, neither look at you or talk to you, you don't exist ! Skin color have nothing to do with, is the kindness versus workers that matter, and keanu have it, versus all human kind. Wish you all the best.

A shame I can't post pictures on here. I have a great shot of him and my daughter. My wife and I were at Guitar Center in New Orleans with my daughter just picking up supplies as I play guitar, my daughter plays drums. And lo and behold who was in town and getting his bass guitar worked on? None other than Keanu Reeves. I didn't realize at the time but he was in town, this would have been summer of 2019, he was filming the Bill and Ted sequel in New Orleans. But I wasn't quite sure it was him, cuz you know you have those moments when you see somebody and it's kind of surreal. So my daughter, ten at the time, I told her hey go up to him and ask him if he's Keanu Reeves it won't look weird coming from you, LOL. Didn't take too much convincing, she went up and pulled on his suit coat he was wearing with a t-shirt, blue jeans and a baseball cap. She simply asked, are you Keanu Reeves? To which he replied, why yes, I am. LMAO. Classic Keanu. He proceeded to talk to my daughter for 5 minutes about music and the talent show she had coming up where she was playing a song by The Clash. Totally blew his mind, he was infatuated with her. We gave them a few minutes before my wife and I came up and he politely asked who are these people, to which my daughter replied those are my parents. LOL. Well he was a complete gentleman to us, shook our hands,, and without a second thought had no problem posing for a picture with my daughter. Total gentleman. I politely told him we didn't want to take up too much of his time, my wife inquired into him dropping his bass off and what instruments he played. He was very taken with being asked normal everyday questions. It was a very cool experience. Literally 10 minutes later we are walking out Guitar Center and he's walking out right in front of us, and as we went one way in the parking lot and he went another, my daughter yelled, bye Keanu! To which he turned and waved and said goodbye Norah. Totally remembering her name. The guy really is the real deal. I met a lot of celebrities around town, all pretty cool experiences. But, Keanu is Keanu and just took it to the next level. ( : updated, I actually changed my KZbin profile to the shot of Keanu and my daughter for all to see ;) ).

One quick little tidbit to my story for everyone who reads this. Toy Story 4 had just come out when my wife, daughter, and I ran into Keanu Reeves at Guitar Center in New Orleans. Well, as we are talking to him, he looks down to my daughter and asks, "Have you seen Toy Story 4 yet?" My daughter, who kind of reluctantly went to go see it with my mom, her grandma, just a month before (going through that phase at 10 years-old of not wanting to see kid movies) she gives Keanu kind of a puzzled look and I think figured he was asking her because she's a kid. I don't think she put two and two together that he was in the movie. My daughter looks up at him and says, "yeah, I saw it". And Keanu said, "what did you think of it?" To which my daughter, completely in honest, straightforward child bluntness, looks up at him and says, "...I thought it was all right". LMAO. Keanu, totally unfazed, looks down at my daughter and says, in agreement very nonchalantly, "Yeah... I thought it was all right too." LOL. I had to inform my daughter on the ride home that she did realize that Keanu Reeves was the motorcycle stunt guy in Toy Story 4! She felt totally embarrassed. I told her don't be embarrassed, you were completely honest you thought the movie was just all right, he didn't take any offense to it. Why? Because he is Keanu Reeves. 🙌

I agree, Chris. I notice people in SoCal are under a lot of pressure to compete, so they’re seen and heard. I found to key to getting peoples’ attention. Tell them they are beautiful BECAUSE of their age. Look at the augmented faces and bodies respectfully as a tribal signature. I know everyone wants him in the MCU... I always just wanted him to have a walk-on role just as himself. Have him in a charity event or something, and have some of the Avengers there. As he walks through he finds his path is blocked by Mjölner. Not wanting to make a scene and disrupt Thor, he quietly moves the hammer and continues on his way. As Thor looks on in shock, a little horror that a mere mortal could lift the hammer, and amazement. We all know Keanu could lift Mjölner.😊

I love how kind hearted and humble he is. He is a true Virgo, ( I can say that because he is 10 days older than me and I am very aware of Virgos personality traits) It has been fun over the years to watch him grow as not only an actor, but also as a wonderful person who truly does care about his fellow humans.
