Of course it rhymes with Crow, that's why they fled underground so none of them could get confused due to unclear pronounciation anymore

Either is right. Bob Salvatore pronounces Drow like "wow", but I have also heard other Drow experts pronounce it the other way.

Thanks again my friend. This subject is actually more significant than first realized. In the commotion of actual gameplay, its easy to get confused (depending on amount of PCs) what the status of battle evolves into. For this reason, on occasion I've run a few practice sessions prior to gameplay (with just me) to gauge the 'flow' of conflicts, when I know a complicated battle is forthcoming in a session.. This cuts down on the pauses and interruptions needed to crunch numbers and keep track of who is doing what, when and how, making for a smoother fight. It's not "cheating" because my objective is NOT to kill all my Player's Characters, it's to ensure they have a fun filled event without me flipping through a book, breaking the tempo. It also enables me to gauge if I'm setting them up for a TPK or a scenario where they are gonna steam-roll my BBEG. Both of which, can crush an evenings mood. :)

I would like to submit Alyxian the Apotheon for this list as well, since you as a DM are challenged to roleplay him effectively for his payoff, as well as having the three phases akin to Auril. Not only that, but there is also the effects the players can do by appealing to him with Persuasion checks or praying at his shrines to halt his lair actions

agreed, I ran the final encounter with him a while ago, it was a lot to process in the fight, but very fun because the module made sure I knew the charcater well so decision making was fairly intuitive for me

I agree with all of these creatures on the list. But i do believe that many more could be added. Strictly speaking due to adding the idea of personalities and history of the NPC’s. The sheer amount of RP that all of these creatures come with make them even more deeply complicated to run. Taken this into consideration the list would have been a bit more rearranged for me. But still a great list overall. Thank you for the video

Whenever an NPC is worlds more cunning than any standard human person, the limits of the NPC's cleverness is set by the peak real-life mental stats of the DM. You need a (not memeing here promise) 150 IQ DM with a philosophy degree to play some of the coolest enemies truly "lore accurate." Always becomes a challenge to do extraordinarily intelligent and/or wise things justice I've found while DMing. The extraordinary empathy needed to fully embody/deeply love and care for the mindset of an... Elder Brain, for example, is a big ole' puzzle.

I mean, archdevils and demon lords are things you shouldn't be fighting or dealing with unless you're level 20+. And Auril is a literal deity. Meaning that you really shouldn't even be attempting to fight these things and confrontations should be handled with either a "RUN FOR YOUR LIFE" or catastrophic display of superior power.

She is both a treater goddess (well, after transforming herself from a lesser/morin deity into a greater deity during her "Silence", that is), and a demon lord, who rules the 66th layer of the Abyss, which comprises the Demon Web, and the Demon Web Pits.

it's great until you end up having to use it on a foe that is resistant to it. If you didnt have to use it on Zariel, or she wasnt resistant to it, it wouldnt be so bad. But with both having to take place, it makes it bad for that encounter.

Honestly unless you're running spelljammer I rate radiant as the best damage type in the game (mathematically magical bludgeoning is best but when you take into account which creatures are immune/resistant it's pretty much zariel or angels, and unless you are playing in an evil campaign you usually don't fight angels)
