Don't ask me. Finnish is more complicated and has more ways to conjoin a single word. The language has vowel harmony which is difficult and has no goddamn prepositions nor anything simple to learn. According to WatchMojo Finnish is #5 on the top 10 hardest languages. Estonian isn't even an honorable mentions in the list.

Asking which language is the hardest depends upon which language ur comparing it ON like for example if ur a native English speaker it will be hard for you to learn Polish but if you are like for say Kashubian you dont even need to learn the language u just need to talk to some Polish guys for some time u will learn it in like 2 week (Comparing it on the basis of English) I like to categorise them on the basis of Writing system, Phonology and Grammar and the hardest will be a mix of all the factors... *For writing system* of course Hanzi/Kanji from Chinese/Japanese (Korean and Vietnamese also used a version of Hanzi in the past Hanja for Korean and Chu nom for Vietnamese) Another one would be Akkadian/Hittite which is no longer spoken of course *For Phonology* it definitely has to be the Salishan languages those language are *BIZARRE* you get entire sentences snuggled into a single word (unfortunately all of them are endangered), I think the hardest of them all Nuxalk you get words like *clhp'xwlhtlhplhhskwts' (IPA xɬpʼχʷɬtʰɬpʰɬːskʷʰt͡sʼ)* (I told you) (And no vowels!) and it means 'then he had in his possession a bunchberry plant.' *For Grammar* I think it should be based on the language which has the most Noun cases and that reward goes to Ithkuil with *96 matafa-ing* noun cases but that is a Constructed language so it doesn't count ig, the natural language with the most noun cases is Tsez's impressive 64 cases *Overall* I think its Ithkuil which is just made to be hard and well its an constructed language... *SO IT DOESNT COUNT!?!!,* out of the natural languages the Salishan languages especially Nuxalk are *THE* hardest as I told you they are extremely polysynthetic so basically the complete opposite of English, rest of the grammar is also bolz and as I showed you its phonology is.... im not saying.

@ronaldonmg3 жыл бұрын
It means that icelandic is still very close to "Old Norse", and the icelanders are very serious about keeping it that way. If a new word is needed, they will first look in their own language. If that fails they will look in other northgermanic languages, and only of that fails too, they will consider importing a word from any other language.
