"Fresh Prince" was definitely a hilarious show, but it was one of those sitcoms that managed to make you bawl like a baby during its most dramatic moments. The saddest scenes for me would have to be Will and Carlton's confrontation in Will's hospital room after they're mugged at gunpoint and Carlton buys a gun, Carlton freaking out over Phil's heart attack, and naturally Phil and Will's tearful hug after Will's deadbeat dad abandons him once again. 😭💔 They definitely don't make shows like this anymore!

I was 6 when it came out (so a little younger than Ashley). In those days, there wasn't, like, seasons of a TV show available to purchase on VHS; like we have now with digital, DVD and blu-ray. I've seen....if you add up ALL the episodes....probabaly about half a season to a full season in total. Now I'm watching it straight through for the first time. Just finished episode 6 of season 1. When Carlton ends the episode by saying "....I would've stopped." my eye got damp.

why was this show the best....honestly i learned so much about the world by watching this show and the struggles of being black. also side note. in that last scene, Will actually was talking about his real life father. that man wasn't acting.
@kazekokonaya1220
@kazekokonaya1220 5 жыл бұрын
He was acting. His father was always very present in his life. That's a rumor that was debunked by Will Smith. James Avery kept pushing him to do better and better as they were doing the scene multiple times because Will kept messing up, and then when they did it the last time, James whispered in his ear as he was hugging Will, "That's fucking acting right there."

You're better off without him. Next time he shows up, slam the door in his face. His turn to be shut out. You will become a better person than him. You will have more empathy for others than him. You desirve better people in your life than him. and you desirve all the love your mother gives you, you can also talk about boy stuff with her, she might not understand it right away, but if you explain yourself and why some does some stuff and why you do stuff, she will do everything she can to listen and give you advice. Be strong.
