We had the cheapest wedding ever , as we didn’t have any money ! Everyone of my friends had fairly expensive weddings and they are all divorced . We’ve been married for 26 years and we’re still very happy . A marriage isnt about the expense, it’s about the love and respect for one another .

My shoes were more expensive than my dress. Shoes- $159 Dress $129 Purchased both at Dillard's. Everyone said it was breathtaking. We had the most amazing wedding at a former hunting lodge at Wakulla Springs, Fla. We had the whole lodge for 6 days and had a blast. We had a hospitality suite set up for the whole 6 days, 24 hours per day. Fully stocked with liquor, soft drinks, coffee bar, and all sorts of snacks. The lodge is rather rustic, no tvs in the rooms. We had friends and family come from all over the US, Alaska, and the UK, I could not justify them coming all that way and having to buy cokes from a machine and sit in a room, I wanted new and old friends to have a place to talk and have fun. The suite was a meeting room 30'x20' so we had plenty of room to enjoy our time together. Total cost for our whole wedding including our clothes and honeymoon. A whopping $12,000.

It’s not just what they look like. Some were made of silk,diamonds & pearls & rare delicate laces. considering how many yards of material & lace it took to make some of these creations being only 1 cost factor… Most people forget to incorporate the many hours of painstaking designing & labor involved to make these very delicate creations, in addition to the fact that they’re custom originals! My Dad designed & made wedding gowns most of my young life. It’s amazing the talent,labor & passion that goes into each one.

I found my wedding dress in small Mexican store. Cost 60 dollars. Shoes 15 dollars, veil I made, and my bouquet about 15 dollars as well. Arrive at my wedding in a beautiful rented white Cadillac. I looked and felt like million bucks. I would never spend as much money on a dress as the ladies in this video did...no matter how rich I was.

That is the cost of sophistication. It is ultimately a lie. I do however agree that a princess should have an awesome wedding dress. It is not only a sign of unparalleled status but a case of national pride. Also the dress is not necessarily the property of the wearer but the property of the kingdom. It is also interesting to note that even the royal jewels are recycled. With monarchs often the mind blowingly expensive gems are reset in a different style to compliment the current monarch's taste. But I agree with many that the most expensive gowns are to promote the work of the designer not actually for the glory of the famous or in the case of the Kardashians infamous personages But I must say that I hated the wedding dress of Princess Dianna. It hid and did not accentuate her natural beauty. I however thought that the gown of Sarah Ferguson was awesome.

How is Kate Middleton’s dress more expensive than that of The People’s Princess, Diana of Wales? Princess Diana’s was far more luxurious, and would certainly put Kate’s to shame in terms of amount of fabric. Diana’s dress’s theme was one of opulence, while Kate’s was much more conservative. Adjusted for about 40 or so years’ worth of artificial inflation, certainly Diana’s dress was more expensive. Are you keeping it off the list just because it was 1980s fashion? It wouldn’t be fair to exclude it over her divorce, since Kim Kardashian is also divorced. If it’s because she is, sadly, no longer with us, that might make sense, but The People’s Princess was a far better person than most of these women!

The Emanuel’s thought being chosen to design and make Diana’s dress was going to be the ticket to propel them into the dress makers for royalty and the stars. The ostentatious 25 foot train was enough to turn anyone off. And the fabric choice was horrendous. They may have well made it out of tissue paper it was so wrinkled when she got out of the car. Diana had wonderful taste in clothes and fashion, it just hadn’t developed at the time of her wedding to jug ears.

They showed so many dresses by Yumi Katsura that I wasn't sure which one they were talking about. Even googling to see the specific dress just showed a bunch of different dresses like the ones shown here. Bc it's called the WHITE Gold Dress & said it has pearls, but then mentioned the special embroidery... I'm guessing it was the YELLOW "gold" colored dress with many other colors down the dress. They weren't great at pointing it out here since every shot had a dress in it. Maybe I'm just too tired...? Iunno.

I loved My gown, it was a sample gown, I found at Carson Pirie Scott, in Chicago, Illinois, in 1969. It was a high necked, illusion bodice, long lace sleeves which came to a point at the wrists, empire waist, in a soft pale ivory. The front of the gown was covered with crystals, beads and pearls. As was the empire top of the gown. It had a very heavy re-embroidered lace Cathedral train. Covered with crystals, along all of the sections of the train. My A-Line gown was by Priscilla of Boston; ( I wish I could remember who the actual designer was. My Mother and I made my veil ourselves, from ivory silk tulle, it was fingertip length with a blusher, attached to a crystal Tiara. My Shoes were white podeiswa. I don't remember what my gloves looked like, they were silk. MY gown was cleaned and pressed , $15.00, MY gown with its train was only $25.00 My wedding cake was designed by my Mother, but created at DRESSELS' BAKERY in Chicago. In 1970, the cake was $85.00, which was a fortune back then.

My wedding and engagement rings hooked together forming 2 Chevrons, the 1/4 carat solitaire totally flawless Diamond was placed in a Tiffany Setting., the wedding ring was Florentine, The rings were designed by my Fiancé, at Glenn Rowland Jewelers in Rockford, Illinois . He told me later, they were $450.00, which was a lot back then.
