When the Stan Winston Predator came out i went through a Sideshow phase back in the day. I remember being salty I didn’t get the wolf especially when the P2 maquette came out nowhere near the same quality as the SW P1 (that was a heartbreaker!). When that hulk was first shown people were up in arms about the face. It was an ugly statue…can’t believe its on a grail list all these years later lol. People were crazy about that Doctor Doom the second it was shown though, it was a big deal. Honestly around that time the only things that really impressed my wallet at Sideshow were the high end horror stuff like the Pred/Alien/Pumpkin head maquette’s. I didn’t the think their standard statues like the hulk were worth the asking price detail/paint wise. I really like what they are doing these days at around $500 though.

I am sorry to inform you that I did not lose my shiite over anything you said. In fact, I was calm and ambivalent during the entire video. No glassware got thrown into the fireplace -- I did not break any furniture. Regarding the SS OG Hulk, I think that piece is popular because it replicates the Jack Kirby style of the Hulk. And as you know, Kirby is pretty much revered as a comic book artist.

Yeah I don't get that She Hulk statue pricing. Never looked into that one but I checked eBay after seeing your video. Shows one recently sold for nearly $1,600! Maybe it was a low production run? Don't get it...

I think you do need to see the OG Hulk in person especially when it’s shot with shadows. I didn’t care for it until I saw it in person. It’s truly a work of art. It’s an extremely heavy. I also own the OG Doom lol. The throne is really well done and you need the chalice to complete it. Yah it’s somewhat overrated but it is the first throne statue ever made before other companies copied it. Now we see so many throne saturation in the market. Kind of overkill IMO.

Only few custom wolverine with amazing paint and snow effect on him would say it's better than the xm. I have the xm weapon x and it's amazing, I cannot understand how you can still find it at retail price or lower

I think people live for controversy weather if they say they do or not, so keep up the awesome videos like this Mr. X. With that said- there will always be the 'next statue' of character you will eventually fall for and have the opportunity to get it at retail . Such in case for two statues I'm just not going to overpay. First- Thanos on Throne......just PO'd the new Queen Studios Thanos as a replacement. Second- Dr.Doom.......as much as I would luv one of those custom's, I've taken the chance on the new CO Signature Dr. Doom 1/4 scale which I think looks pretty damn cool. So there ya go........lets here it controversial people!

I personally wouldn't know the difference on what's overrated or underrated when it comes to statues but with comics i sometimes do, however with some of the statues i've seen on your channel and some of the other channels i think some statues are cool and certain ones that aren't that cool (as far as the concept and the design goes) other than that i've got nothing else to say. But overall they're nice piece of art for some they may see and like to appreciate. Nice review and thumbnail.

One piece that comes to mind that’s a little overrated is the Prime One Pennywise 1/2 scale along with the 3 piece head set that sells separately. The fact that the rope literally runs thru a hole in his hand is crazy for the price tag on it.

I think Bowen statues are overrated and overpriced most of the time. I prefer the larger and more detailed. I know you love them but I struggle some with the throne statues. Thanks for the videos. Love them all.

I have that 1/2 scale BVS WW and the stock picture you showed is the original prototype which they updated with an 'improved' face sculpt...... which was barely okay for the time, but now with the appearance of Queen Studios and the like our expectations on actor likeness have increased quite a bit. In person that WW piece has some of the best life like skin on a fully sculpted piece I've ever seen. And yes you're right about having to get more than one, being that I have the full Trinity like many seem to have. Even though I do like the piece, I'll admit it is overrated even when it first came out, but I don't regret the purchase. We all have different tastes, as I wouldn't even want many of those custom pieces you have in your collection because to me anyway many seem to have very lackluster paint and sculpt on the 'human' face sculpts, but you seem to love them. But even though I disagree with your opinions sometimes I watch most of your uploaded content.

I guess I got lucky when I was able to pickup the SheHulk (non exclusive) statue when it was undervalued years back on eBay. The recent sideshow Psylocke is a bit overrated in my opinion.

I mostly collect 1/4 Star Wars pieces and for me the Sideshow Emperor on throne has always been overrated. As you mentioned, it looks like a giant Hot Toy :D

You have to remember that the Men in Black life size bust was highly lauded at the time, mainly because at the time there was nothing that would compare to it quality wise. It was leaps and bounds ahead of any other 'human' based bust (did one even exist). But now it's a totally different situation with Queen and Infinity studios etc. I contemplated purchasing it when it first came out, but at the time I couldn't even imagine spending that much on a single piece........ and now I spend twice as much without a second thought.

I agree on SSC OG She-Hulk and this piece would probably be #1 on my list. Not a bad piece, I just find it s'right and don't understand why she's so sought after... especially with so many better options for the character available. / I'm kinda surprised on your SSC Doom on Throne pick. I agree the piece is vastly under-scaled. For me the amount of mixed-media is a problem, too. But it's a nice looking piece and although not for me or my collection, I get the love and admiration for it.

I'm just glad you didn't put my Sideshow's Life-Size Venom bust on there. I know we both own it, but I wish it had a smaller edition size as I believe they continue to produce and sell it. I do like it quite a bit though. One statue I really want but now goes for around 5 to 6 times retail is Sideshow's Life-Size Darkness bust. I'm guessing the small edition size (250) and the fact that no one is willing to sell it at a reasonable price makes me feel it is overrated a bit. Make no mistake though, I would buy that Darkness bust in a heartbeat at a reasonable price but not at $5K like the one currently on Ebay.

I've been looking for that Darkness bust too. I haven't seen the 5k one yet, but it doesn't matter because I would just laugh that off and keep going by it. Others I have see are at a reasonable price, but they are obvious recasts. They don't say, but they overseas and always state "no box" in the description.

Being a Doctor Doom collector, I really must agree with you. That Doom on the throne is terribly overrated, over-priced, and underdone. My Doom collection is pretty vast. But I've NEVER had any love for this statue, nor any inclination of buying it. I just don't get it. p.s. I do disagree with you on the Hulk premium. I've wanted this one forever. I'm a huge Kirby fan, and Jack's classic Hulk has always been my personal favorite. I feel like they really captured Kirby's style to a tee here. Real old school.

Sideshow Spider-Man Exclusive Statue by Scott Campbell & Mary Jane Comiquette by Scott Campbell. I get that these are limited piece, but you can find them on Ebay going for between 3 to 5 times the original price. And compared to what they can do now, it's just not worth it.

I do agree on your #10 and #1 picks. That weapon X is really great but do not think it should be that expensive. On the Hulk it is not my cup of tea. That being said the #1 Doom on throne is for sure not done as well as others are. It is like when they made it, they wanted to go with somthing to show Dooms majesty and culture. Yet they fell short on effort. I do not know how much they think it should be worth, but no thanks I'll pass.

My predictions for yours are a wolverine, a thanos (not throne cause we know you ;P) and maybe a batman related one. Most statues i think are overrated are the hulks out there. Very few are actually good. The only one i like is the gladiator hulk.
