Sidenote: for students/young adults who needs a commuter between school and work, don't get the GTI or anything more than 20 years old as a first car. Unless you have the resources to wrench along with the patience and skillset to quickly resolve constant niggling faults, those cars and their problems get real old, real pricy, real fast. Grow your income, ace your classes, and when you have more money and time - buy an older or less-reliable-but-fun car. Yes your first car will likely be cheap and boring, but no car is worth screwing up your late teens and early 20s.

2005 pathfinder vq40 very reliable and surprisingly quick. May be an suv but it looks rly good lifted. And one of the deepest v6 tones you’ll ever hear, not comparable to the vq35 and 37 at all

can confirm i have a WJ grand cherokee at 230k miles and it still runs well, its the i6 variant and still makes 16 mpg in the city... also have beat the shit out of it and it just doesn't give a flying fuck the combination of reliability and low price makes it one of the most fun cars to cruise with the homies in, the rwd makes you able to do some donuts in the rain, and the ground clearance allows for some curb crawling shenanigans

Glad to see a Civic on the list. Hope the see a Deep dive on the EJ1 Civic. Jelopnic has a great video on how the car was designed. I think it was first in it's class to have driver and passenger airbags. It's the first Civic coupe. Vice recently Made a video on how the Civic was responsible for a street racing magazine article that inspired the making of The Fast and the Furious. Taretos character is a representation of a real street racer named Racer X. Craig Lieberman's channel has some great information on what the Civics in the movie we're like and have some cool movie shots you can use if you ask. Think the EJ1 specifically has a better drag coefficient (move through air easier) that the hatchback. Drag racers like to use them for drag racing as well because of the before mentioned aero. Double wishbone suspension keeps the car tires flat as the car is making maneuvers making it very easy to drive fast. Motor week has some great shots and commentary on the EJ1 in 92. Driven films photography has some great shots of the EJ1. EGKCOUPE has some great shots of the EJ1. Honda street garage has some great shots as well.

If youre a boost creep i suggest 1997-2004 buick regal gs with 260 supercharged horsepower. You can pick them up for pennies and the engined last over 300k miles.

I test drove a 06 tc manual transmission and everything was pretty nice for a cheap first car but I couldn’t pass people on the highway cus it was so d as my slow. Couldn’t tell when you stepped on it.

Go and work on some different german cars for some time and you will learn why they are called unreliable and hard to work at. Your innocence depending cars is cute, not only in this video and it clearly shows you havent much experience with different cars. So I would argue that the 4.3L S10 is more reliable than the ranger, especially the manual. The Ford 4.0 had head issues it's entire life, and the late gen had issues with it's timing chains. (Yes it had 3 of them......)

Germans car are unreliable. Audi's are pain in the ass to mein tein, mercedes has extreme electronics's problem, BMW's are decently reliable but pretty expensive to mein tein. And concern VW thay are pretty reliable but not as same as toyota or honda.
