Saga is such a good read - I’m not that many issues deep yet but I already feel connected to all the characters, they just feel so real somehow!! It’s crazy how much they’ve gone up in value…

Totally agree with your list, well done! I would probably put siktc in second place though.

Nice! Gotta disagree though with siktc; it’s dropped in value in the last few months. I think it is a gimmick that will lose interest once the show is made and toned down for mass appeal. I may be wrong of course, but it’s pretty dicey imho. Great video though!

OK Nick, you asked, so here it goes - But be aware, most modern are really fragile in price and liable to collapse (like what happened as a byproduct of Image Comics creation and speculators in the 90s) : Carol Danvers has been around for ages, then got her power ages ago (and had her own book). Avenging Spiderman is just a newer haircut and a newer uniform, that's all. Earth 2 is based on a race swap. Last Ronin is GENUINE - this book will ALWAYS be sort after, a good story and a brand which will be remade time and time again. Knull is currently in the 'too hard' bin for Sony to gamble on.. It won't work based on their current methods, and if their aim is to make serious bank its going to be after Venom and Spiderman (one of the 3 from the new movie) have their own movie facing off... SIGH... Jane Foster (shakes head)... That issue is actually a good read, but the story becomes a tad tedious and chases its tail thereafter (P.S. Jane Foster was already as Thordis.. What if #10 from 1978). Thanos Wins is absolutely an enjoyable read... Once again a derivative with Cosmic Ghostrider but the story rocks (There was already a Cosmic Ghost Rider... From the 90s Guardians of The Galaxy comic series... Only this one here is Frank Castle (the Punisher) - Sadly the story was stolen from Jim Starlin (who created Thanos and the whole space universe of the MCU but for the original GOTG) and given by editors to Donny Cates.... Silk (derivative).. Boring as... Got the J Scott Campbell NYCC cover version (signed at NYCC 2014).... ICE CREAM MAN (NO IDEA! You got me!) .... Ah SAGA.... I fear to read it, because it can be construed as WOKE.. But got every issue of it (and its apparently coming out of hiatus soon, as it stopped for ages). Its fans are fanatics, in the same demographic as Sandman fans... Spider Gwen, great design, great off-beat art... Sort of fizzled in her own series (rebranded Ghost-Spider now people are saying Spider-Woman, which would make her version 4? 5? under that name)... Miles (derivative)... (SIDE NOTE: The term and all movie aspects associated with SPIDERMAN are owned purely by SONY... Disney will get a 25% royalty on the movies.. He's NOT MCU and SONY will not entertain selling him back). Something Is Killing The Children... Missed it at the start and never recovered (and since I ordered BRZKR as a crowd fund originally I missed even that reprint). GENERALLY: If the numbers are there you need to put them in, even if Something Is Killing The Children takes up multiple (or most) spots, because it deserves that position over the others. Honestly since 2014 the main two publishers (Marvel and DC) have really not produced an epic story line, and the end result is you are seeing lots of derivatives... But not only that, lots of derivatives OF derivatives long since done... You keep getting that and you end up in a situation like the Flash TV series... Everyone is a Speedster, so its just a bunch of (normal?) people dressed up and in a fistfight with each other in a bar... The prices are the prices, so be it, but watch out, almost ALL these books are REALLY fragile.... Only non-fragile one's here are SIKTC, Last Ronin, Saga, and (maybe) Miles... Remember, the list has from 2010... But Comic life didn't begin in 2010, its still competing against everything BEFORE it... These are the best from a 'down' decade and only in terms of one-off issues... For those prices there are better issues to invest in, and more speculative stuff that would return less % but physically MORE cash (unless you have an unlimited supply per book)

Wow, some thought wcertainly went into that! Great read, I would love to know what comics you would buy for investment if you had, let's say $5000 to spend and sit on. Any age.

@@peterbotta1272 FIRST THINGS FIRST: I am NOT a financial advisor and all comments below are of a general nature, and does not consider the financial circumstances you are in, nor does it constitute sound financial advice in such a volatile market. Have to say that, because Accountants that don't hold financial advisors licences can't give financial advice. So NONE of that is financial advice. Also I have been through BOOMS and BUSTS in comics (not that I cared, because I wanted what I wanted to read and own). But I can tell you interesting stories: FIRST, I AM TAINTED BY TWO TITLES IN PARTICULAR: These are their stories: X-MEN: Well, as a byproduct of going to NYCC in 2013 and 2014 I got access to a good deal of contacts, one night I was stuffing around on the phone at 3am (had to get up at 7am for work) for reasons that made no sense to me, other then this was my first mobile past the nokia keypad I had and had finally learnt what WIFI was (Because I HATE technology except for watching live-streams and shopping) ... Up came Hulk 181 in a FB post from one of my contacts outside of NYC.. I nabbed it before 30 other people could (including someone who literally called from California)...That is what I was told... That many people in just 2 minutes before the post was deleted... $700 USD (about $1000). It was a Fine condition (reasonable enough to be)... About a month ago I saw one that was in 'rags' sort of stage of abuse and it went North of $1800 USD.... That book keeps going insane, but is it already at the peak? The reality is the X-Men comic has been rudderless since the writer Claremont left after his big 17 year run on the book... That departure was a quarter of a century ago, so its inherently still within people that Wolverine is still the man, but for how long since he's been trashed for over a decade now? X-Men in terms of volume 1 and volume 2 (which started in the 90s and ran alongside volume 1), both of which were stopped and rebooted... Is missing 4 issues in total of the whole run (actually its a few more, but the reprints between #67 and #93 I do not count even though I have many of them)... I'd consider GIANT SIZED X-MEN 1, which predates X-men 94 and has the benefits of being a larger book to read, several first appearances, several origins (not super detailed but the basics) and being A VERY GOOD READ as actually being at the top, and it hasn't been MCU'd yet..... Looking into issues associated with the DARK PHOENIX SAGA from a story point of view will cover one of the best marvel stories of all time... That and the Death Of Jean Grey (her death was greatly exaggerated as she eventually turns up again) The second title is the most popular super hero in the World, as shown time and time again.. THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN... I have a book with bound comics that cover 15 early issues.... What that means in REAL value I do not know, because people are tight into comic grading and methodology... All I know is that every page (except for the covers) of 15 issues covered A LOT of villains... I mean I am missing (Amazing Fantasy 15, then ASM 1 4 and 5)... Only #4 has what I conside as the Spiderman A grade villain (Sandman).. .I own the rest of them.... Which leaves me in a predicament writing this - I rarely keep track of pricing of stuff I have (because I have it!) Things like first Green Goblin would probably be within range (but don't know)... However consideration of the first Black Cat (ASM 194) seems to have grown insanely these past few years.. And Marvel tested her with her own series (didn't work out - because most modern Marvel comics are made by young political hacks, and none care for the ART or the STORY)... She WILL appear in a Sony Spiderman movie at some point.. Guaranteed... I am thinking Garfield if he comes back for his #3, which is suddenly on the cards (Gwen is dead, and no indication of there being a MJ out there for him)... Which brings me to the Death Gwen Stacy... ASM 121 (her death) and ASM 122 (death of Green Goblin).... These would, in theory hit peak, they were done in movies long ago BUT its the STORY that means A LOT to the mythos... If Spiderman is FOREVER, then his best stories are FOREVER as well.. These two are those. ASM 129 (first Punisher) is also in the insane market... In a PC to the point of book burning modern World, Punisher is the popular, but hated by the company, family member... He might be, as they say 'Cancelled'... How long does Cancel Culture last? He could disappear like The Shadow, Dick Tracy or Flash Gordon... Or he could reemerge... ASM 300 is a classic cover holding a great (and bigger sized) issue of Todd McFarlane story where Spiderman comes across Venom who has snuck into the apartment he and MJ share and she originally thinks its Peter... It means more than his brief appearance an earlier issue, let alone the pricy cost of getting 'The First Black Costume' issues.. As per my original post, I tend to hate costume changes and derivatives (new gender, new race, new character becoming a copy). BUT I also consider them a distraction so I have less competitors between me and the comics I REALLY want. They WILL be volatile and should, if there is any justice, fall on their face.. Because there is nothing artistic in art or story about those sorts of books. I would say Fantastic Four 48 49 and 50. These, for a long time, were battling with Death Of Gwen Stacy for the best Marvel story.. It has first Galactus and first Silver Surfer in it (48)... And really its the Silver Surfer that does everything in facing Galactus.... From which led into the 60s (or early 70s) Silver Surfer Title - a bunch of cult books, #1 is the origin... #3 is first Mephisto (GREAT read) and #4 is what people argue as being the best Marvel Battle of All Time (SS V THOR)... Honestly I argue Galactus V Mephisto in a graphic novel called Silver Surfer Judgement Day wins the epic of all fights (and its dirt cheap). Honestly I find it better in QUANTITY with QUALITY than in a single key book or two... Most first appearances DON'T have fleshed out characters, and are overrated.. Going back to the very early stages before Marvel exploded (or just started) had some crappy artwork and silly stories... The one's I mentioned above have bucked the trend in that manner.... Honestly Deadpool is probably one of the few others that was fleshed out and totally within character from day 1. Ultimately if you want to buy to sell, you have to have a person to sell it to later on... I'd say its easier with Renowned stories and selling many.. because if its just KEYS, which its becoming, then its a signal that MORE people are doing it for investment than reading... Which means the market has shrunk further... If everyone is a simple stock holder, then who's left to buy? Its then you'd guaranteed to be stuck with one book.. because its beyond most in terms of budget and the pool of people is less.. Its interesting because I had a chance of getting X-Men #1 for $1000 AUD... Now history shows its gone beyond the insane.. If I was a seller I'd be seriously dumb, BUT its a shit book and I could get heaps better story (who care's if the market collapses, at least I still enjoy it)... Also I had a chance of first Iron man for $4000 AUD, but again, I have never paid $1000 or more for a comic and I doubt I ever will EXCEPT for that Hulk 181 (first full Wolverine).. I got all these books cheaper and early to what most people are now starting to collect.... Shit, I am happy to pick off things for a few dollars each, and keep my eye out on original comic book art (paying for commissions, buying off of sellers and art dealers).... But THAT is a WHOLE new game, and a whole NEW level...

Nice list 😁 I would have liked to see Young Avengers 1 or All-New Marvel Point 1 or Vengeance 1 instead of the Carols Danvers book but I like the video👍

True! There were a lot of comics floating around the bubble/lower end of the list, I didn’t have the time to get to all of them and eventually had to settle on some (as the prices would fluctuate weekly and this edit took several weeks) but many thanks for checking it out! Any other lists you’d want to see?
