Have a 1964 silver quarter. It has a few characteristics that caught my eye when it was given to me from a gas station. First was the feel of it. It was heavier and thicker than normal especially along one edge. The opposing edge is more like a normal coin. Also the outer edge has very defined cuts, almost sharp. The 2nd thing which caught my eye was how shiny and clean it looks. It couldn't have been in use long as pocket change. One very small, short, thin, light scratch is the only mark on it. Wrapped it in a zip lock then tucked it away. Have had it almost 2 years not sure what to do with it, if anything. Just never saw any coin like it and wanted to preserve it. Maybe it'd be worth more than $.25?

Found a three legged buff in a bag of 1000 labeled cull that had passed through at least 4 major dealers ( 40+ years exp) before it got to me ( at 10 years exp ) It was the most banged up red nasty crusty thing you've ever seen! I see why no one else cared to look at it closer. I realized a nice value even in the beat up grade it was in. I find the main fallacy collectors / hunters hold is in giving up before even trying, it is in the thought process of "well if it was worth any value another would've surely found it by now " Never give up- These beautiful specimens can really still be found by you! 🙂

My first coin was a 1913 two and a half "dollar gold piece" size of a dime and I was 5 years old..🍒 from there the gold and the silver kept piling up.. a friend of mine his father was a bank manager in San Francisco Bank.. I got 12-- 1922" Morgan Silver Dollar's uncirculated when I got them they were in like an egg carton material, I thought I was buying a dozen of eggs he said they came that way..Also a 150 Lb.. burlap bag with a Black Stamp on the front he also said they came to the bank like that uncirculated 1973-S..I never opened them to this day..Got them in 1976.. I also have a solid steel safe 5 foot tall even if you had a block of C-4 explosives it would not open or more..😏💣💥💪💣💨🧔

I think your presentation would have benefited significantly if, at the very beginning, you had shown sample quarters in various conditions, starting from "poor" to "proof." By the end of the video, you had only described the characteristics of a couple conditions, leaving large gaps in the possibilities. And from listening to your assessment of various quarters, it seems that the condition is often very important.

Hi Katherine, Thanks for watching and for subscribing! I really appreciate it. Wow that 1950 d over s quarter sounds amazing. You should definitely consider getting it graded. I'm glad this video rekindled your coin hunting vigor! I personally do not have the patience to look through coin rolls, but I have a lot of respect for those that do. I love the history behind the coins more than anything else. Happy hunting. I look forward to hearing more about your finds soon! Best regards, ACI
