And Gabriel gets treated pretty brutally in Hellblazer especially when he gets on Constantine's bad side, and John decides to get a bit of personal revenge on him with a chainsaw.

I'm not sure which "angel" movie I saw first, but the one that first came to mind was "Date With An Angel" with Emmanuelle Beart. Though obviously not a militant and powerful archangel like so many on this list, she nailed the otherworldly beauty... among other things. Def deserved a spot.

Alan Rickman's Metatron is certainly missing as spotted already by others. But also missing is Angela from the French film "Angel-A" from 2005, played by Rie Rasmussen opposite Jamel Debbouze. One of the best angel films I've ever seen. And one of the most beautifully filmed ones. Well, Luc Besson, what else can you expect.

James Mason & Buck Henry were fantastic. I love both versions of Heaven Can Wait and Body & Soul! Constantine and Prophecy have finally found their following. A lot of people panned both initially, but I LOVE both and am thrilled they are starting to be appreciated! Who doesn't love It's a Wonderful Life! Michael is one of my faves. Travolta hit gold in Michael and Phenomenon at that time...I was secretly hoping you'd include honorable mention of Beatrice Strait, Charles Durning, Scatman Crothers, etc. in Two of a Kind. heheheh

Thanks for including "Heart and Souls." It's a little gem of a movie. I was on set during much its filming in San Francisco as it was shot in my neighborhood. It's quite a sweet little film and Robert Downey Jr, Alfrie Woodard, Kyra Sedgewick were just brilliant in their roles.

I'm a little surprised the Angel Louis from Jacob's Ladder isn't on this list. Having a guardian angel lead you through Hell to find peace in death was very touching. He also in my opinion had the best line in the film, " Eckhart saw Hell too. He said: The only thing that burns in Hell is the part of you that won't let go of life, your memories, your attachments. They burn them all away. But they're not punishing you, he said. They're freeing your soul. So, if you're frightened of dying and... and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the earth."

C Dulos The point isn't that Tilda is necessarily androgynous, although her striking features make her look "otherworldly" enough to pull it off, it's that in this role specifically she's SUPPOSED to be androgynous, her chest is strapped a bit, she has medium-length hair, etc. It's not uncommon with angels - Bartleby and Loki complain about not having dicks in this very video haha.

Not necessarily, there aren't THAT many angels in Supernatural, and most of them are just huge, raging, flaccid, cold, dicks. Let's see, there's Gabriel, there's Castiel, there's... I forget the Girl's name... Umm... There's... I can't think of any more.

My all around number one is Castiel, from SPN, but I also liked John Travoltas angel so funny and compassionate. In movies, my number one would have to be Christopher Walkens Gabriel. He is awesome!

Well, that movie could be said to be far more notable for being visually stunning. Michael was not really a groundbreaking new idea for an angel. It was beautiful CGI and character development, so it would probably be ranked in top 10 angel movies. Not to say that I don't agree that the performance was amazing.
