Lot of these are players weak foot letting them down completely or them being scared to take it with their weak foot. That's why truly 2 footed strikers like Suarez or Messi are invaluable.

I was 13 playing with my club team in a tournament that was in SomeFuckingPlace, Ohio. The keeper was away from the net somehow (I forget) and the ball rolled about 8 feet in front of the net. "This is my chance," I thought, "I'll blast this ball into this net as hard as I can so they know that I mean business!" I sent that goddamn ball soaring, soaring straight into the river a couple hundred feet behind the fields and down some embankments. "Oh fuck..." That memory haunts me to this day man.
