Polite notice. Herford is a town in Northern Germany (nice beer from there). Hereford (pronounced Herryford) is a small city in England.

Incredible that she can manage to pronounce ‘Herefordshire’ properly, yet completely screws it up when saying the shorter part of the same (‘Hereford’)…..That’s the Yanks for you….with their ability to twist and destroy the English language that they adopted! 🙄

Paul Heart:... You're talking garbage, on both counts, there are over 450 family/family-run businesses in Hereford. As to your "desolate" nonsense, go to either Hightown OR Old Market on Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday (after 1100hrs on Sunday) and you'll find both areas thronging with the public. Shoppers, cafe-goers, cinemagoers, sightseers, families out walking and youngsters just hanging out. Mon-wed inclv are busy enough, but quite naturally, same as everywhere, it gets busier as the week goes on. I've just finished three and a half wonderful years, walking the malls as a staff member at Old Market, keeping that place safe, and spotless. I've seen it all, so I know very well indeed what I'm talking about. Next time... comment when YOU do...!!!
