I'm sorry to say, but Stonehenge is probably the most underwhelming ancient site I've ever seen. The noise from the nearby main road kills the mystery of the place. There are much cooler (but smaller stone circles on Dartmoor. You've got to hike to them over pretty tough ground but that just makes them a whole lot more atmospheric. I seriously recommend it. In fact, I'd say Dartmoor was one the top 10 places to see in the UK. Check out the prison and its origins as a philanthropic utopian project. The irony is just insane. Proof of the old saying that "the road to Hell is paved with good intentions".

I have to agree there is really nothing there the visitors centre is basically just a cafe. If it was free admission I would say its worth a trip but the cost for a family its just too much and the road running directly next to the stones ruins the whole place in my opinion.

I agree. If you want to visit old stones, the stone circle at Avebury - or even the one at Stanton Drew near Bristol - is a far more enjoyable trip. Stonehenge is too commercialised and "touristy". Also, I'm not sure if it was his pronunciation, but it sounded as though he kept calling it Stonehedge (missing the "n")!

12 Promises of THE SACRED HEAD, given to Teresa Helena Higginson of England, by Our Lord Jesus Christ, to be specially adored as The Seat of Divine Wisdom. (1880 - 1883) Our Lord told her that "the sufferings of His body are but like a drop in the ocean compared with what His Soul endured". Imprimatur: Edm. Can. Surmont, V.G.: England, September 2, 1926 1. "Anyone who shall assist in furthering this Devotion shall be blessed a 1,000 fold; but woe to him that shall reject or go against My wish in this respect, for they shall be scattered in my wrath and shall know their place no more." (June 2, 1880) 2. Our Lord "would crown and clothe with a peculiar glory all those who further this devotion" to the Sacred Head. "He would clothe with glory before angels and men in the courts of heaven those who clothed Him in glory on earth and would crown them in everlasting bliss." (Sept. 10, 1880) 3. "We render a great homage to the ever Blessed Trinity by adoring our dear blessed Lord's Sacred Head as the 'Seat of divine wisdom'." (Annunciation 1881) 4. Our Lord would bless "all who practice or further this devotion in any way." (July 16, 1881) 5. "Untold blessings are promised to those who shall try to furher our Lord's wishes in spreading the Devotion." (Juni 2, 1880) 6. "The more we practice devotion to the Sacred Head the more we must see of the working of the Holy Spirit of God in the human soul, and the better we will know and love the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost." (Juni 2, 1880) 7. The "devotion and love to His Sacred Heart should be bestowed a hundred fold upon those who practice devotion to the Seat of divine Wisdom." (May, 1883) 8. "Our blessed Lord said that all that He had promised to those who should worthily love and honor His Sacred Head should be poured out upon those who honoured it themselves or were the means of others doing so. Oh Sacred Head, may Thy Wisdom ever guide us, and the sacred tongue ever bless us and plead for mercy and pardon, and may we never hear the curse pronounced against those who shall hinder or despise this Devotion." (June 2, 1880) 9. "To them that honor Me I will give of my might and I will be their God and they shall be My children and I will place my sign upon their foreheads and My seal upon their lips." (June 2, 1880) 10. He gave me to understand that this wisdom and Light was the seal that marked the number of His elect and they shall see His Face and His Name shall be on their foreheads. (May 23, 1880) 11. Our Lord gave her to understand that St. John referred to His Sacred Head of the Seat of Divine Wisdom "in the last two Chapters of Revelations and with this mark were sealed the numbers of His elect." (May 23, 1880) 12. Our Lord shows her the great blessings and graces he has in store for all who shall further His divine Will to this end. (May 9, 1880) Information given by Our Lord 1880 - 1883) "I wish the first Friday after the feast of my Sacred Heart to be set apart as a festive day in honour of my Sacred Head as the Seat of Divine Wisdom, and that public adoration be offered to Me for all the outrages and sins which are continually being committed against Me." "It should be dedicated as a festive day in its honor, and special reparation and atonement be then offered to Him." (Juni 2, 1880) "The Sacred Head was in a special manner the dwelling place of the Holy Ghost." Our Lord "wished the great mystery of the Incarnation to be made very clear (or taught very carefully) to the children." (Whitsuntide 1881) Our Lord impressed upon her - His Soul is not known, His Soul is not loved, and tells me not, by actual words." (Juni 1883) "Our Blessed Lord wishes His Sacred Head to receive special adoration." (Aug. 17, 1882) "Those who shall try by words or means to hinder or reject it, shall be as glass that is cast down, or as an egg that is thrown to the wall, that is that they shall be shattered and become as naught, and shall be dried up and wither as grass on the housetop." (April 9, 1880) "Even the devotion to the Sacred Heart is incomplete without this devotion to His Sacred Head. (Juni 2, 1880) "He would wish now to be crowned and acknowledged as the Wisdom of the Father, the true King of Kings." (Juni 15, 1880) "This morning at holy Mass when the Sacred Host was raised at the elevation, I saw as it were the whole court of heaven in prostrate adoration." (May 27, 1880) Our dear Blessed Lord wishes His Sacred Head to be honored as the "Shrine of the powers of His holy Soul'. (Nov. 11, 1880) "Around His Sacred Head shone a light of indescribable brilliancy and beauty: as it were a sun in which sparkled 12 magnificent crystal stones reflecting all the colours of the rainbow." (May 23, 1880) "It will be the great devotion of the church in time to come." (July 16, 1881) "The crucifix is the Book of books and to me the Tree of Life and contains never ending volumes." (June, 1880) "It makes me tremble with terror at the dread punishments He has in store for all who shall hinder, or try to hinder the furtherance of this heavenly devotion, for their jaws He says shall be locked as were those of the lions in the den into which Daniel was cast, they shall be shattered and become as naught." (May 9, 1880) The Sacred Head is the shrine of the powers of the Soul. "The Head is also the center of all the senses of the body, and that this devotion is the completion, not only of the devotion of the Sacred Heart, but the crowning and perfection of all devotions; and he showed me how the adorable Trinity at His baptism revealed to the world this special devotion for His Sacred Humanitiy is the tabernacle of the thrice Holy Trinity; and that St. John has specially spoken of this devotion for the Most High revealed to him that he should be thus worshipped before the end of the world." (April 9, 1880) Prayers of Teresa Helena Higginson "Oh Wisdom of the Sacred Head guide us in all our ways." "May the wisdom of the Sacred Head guide us in all our ways and the love of the Sacred Heart consume us with its fire." Blessed be the most holy and undivided Trinity now and forever. Amen." 3 Glory Be's in honor of the Divine Will, Memory, and Understanding. "O Seat of divine Wisdom, and guiding power which regulates and governs all the motions and love of the Sacred Heart may all minds know Thee, and all hearts love, all tongues praise Thee now and forever." "O Mary and Joseph, all ye choirs of angels and gleaming rows of saints, raise now your minds, hearts and hands to the adorable Trinity and beg of the Holy of holies to look on those warm red drops of priceless worth, the Precious blood of Jesus which have obeyed the order of His divine wisdom and Love He has shown towards His creatures to arise and spread this light over the whole face of the earth." Imprimatur, Jacobus Canonicus, Carr -- Pro Epo Liverpolitano * Sacred Head of Jesus, bathed in a sweat of Blood in Gethsemani, * Sacred Head of Jesus, who wept over our sins, * Sacred Head of Jesus, crowned with thorns, * Sacred Head of Jesus, disgracefully outraged during the Passion, * Sacred Head of Jesus, consoled by the loving gesture of Veronica, * Sacred Head of Jesus, that Thou inclined towards the earth at the moment Thou savest us by the separation of Thy Soul from Thy Body on the Cross, * Sacred Head of Jesus, light of every man coming into this world, * Sacred Head of Jesus, our guide and our hope, * Sacred Head of Jesus, who knows all our needs, * Sacred Head of Jesus, who dispenses all graces, * Sacred head of Jesus, who directs the movements of the Divine Heart, * Sacred head of Jesus, who governs the world. * Sacred head of Jesus, who will judge all our actions, * Sacred head of Jesus, who knows the secrets of our hearts, * Sacred Head of Jesus, that we want to make known and adored by the whole world, * Sacred head of Jesus, who ravishes the Angels and the Saints, * Sacred Head of Jesus, that we hope to contemplate one day unveiled, * We adore Thy Sacred Head, o Jesus, and we submit ourselves to all the decrees of Thine Infinite Wisdom. Let us pray: Oh Jesus, Who designed to reveal to Thy servant Teresa Higginson Thine immense desire to see Thy Sacred Head adored, grant us the joy to make it known and honored; let fall on our souls a ray of Thy Light, in order that we may advance from clarity to clarity, conducted by Thine adorable Wisdom to the recompense promised to thine elect. I’m from uk. Born in London bunking school and spending my childhood and early teens travelling by train to all different locations in London with a £2 travel card, back in the day with that card you could get in any train or buss to any place in London, so I’ve been there and done that, I moved to the drastic coast in my late teens, and havnt really done anything since, I’m 28 now and have spent most my life in my room suffering from depression addiction and anxiety, but my hope is to get clean and get rid of all these things I’ve collected over the years that definitely don’t make me happy and become a minimalist, earn enough money to buy a van and past my test, then spend my days travelling the uk, if I can completely that goal I’ll die happy. Awesome video thanks dude, it’s giving me even more motivation to get out this box and sort my self out x wow I’m overwhelmed by the positivity and support, I’ve only just noticed that anybody had replied. I am actually doing a detox as i type and going home in 6 days to start boxing up things with support, it’s been a month off hell and I feel like an 80 year old man my everything hurts lol but this is the hardest part of my new life and if I can beat it anybody can I promise you. Here’s to a fresh start 🥤 thank you for all the support, it had come at the perfect time I really appreciate it. One love ❤️❤️❤️

"O Seat of divine Wisdom, and guiding power which regulates and governs all the motions and love of the Sacred Heart may all minds know Thee, and all hearts love, all tongues praise Thee now and forever." "O Mary and Joseph, all ye choirs of angels and gleaming rows of saints, raise now your minds, hearts and hands to the adorable Trinity and beg of the Holy of holies to look on those warm red drops of priceless worth, the Precious blood of Jesus which have obeyed the order of His divine wisdom and Love He has shown towards His creatures to arise and spread this light over the whole face of the earth." Wednesday of the Thirty-third Week in Ordinary Time Lectionary: 499 Reading 1 Rv 4:1-11 I, John, had a vision of an open door to heaven, and I heard the trumpetlike voice that had spoken to me before, saying, “Come up here and I will show you what must happen afterwards.” At once I was caught up in spirit. A throne was there in heaven, and on the throne sat one whose appearance sparkled like jasper and carnelian. Around the throne was a halo as brilliant as an emerald. Surrounding the throne I saw twenty-four other thrones on which twenty-four elders sat, dressed in white garments and with gold crowns on their heads. From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings, and peals of thunder. Seven flaming torches burned in front of the throne, which are the seven spirits of God. In front of the throne was something that resembled a sea of glass like crystal. In the center and around the throne, there were four living creatures covered with eyes in front and in back. The first creature resembled a lion, the second was like a calf, the third had a face like that of a man, and the fourth looked like an eagle in flight. The four living creatures, each of them with six wings, were covered with eyes inside and out. Day and night they do not stop exclaiming: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God almighty, who was, and who is, and who is to come.” Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to the one who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before the one who sits on the throne and worship him, who lives forever and ever. They throw down their crowns before the throne, exclaiming: “Worthy are you, Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things; because of your will they came to be and were created.” Responsorial Psalm 150:1b-2, 3-4, 5-6 R. (1b) Holy, holy, holy Lord, mighty God! Praise the LORD in his sanctuary, praise him in the firmament of his strength. Praise him for his mighty deeds, praise him for his sovereign majesty. R. Holy, holy, holy Lord, mighty God! Praise him with the blast of the trumpet, praise him with lyre and harp, Praise him with timbrel and dance, praise him with strings and pipe. R. Holy, holy, holy Lord, mighty God! Praise him with sounding cymbals, praise him with clanging cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the LORD! Alleluia. R. Holy, holy, holy Lord, mighty God! Alleluia See Jn 15:16 R. Alleluia, alleluia. I chose you from the world, to go and bear fruit that will last, says the Lord. R. Alleluia, alleluia. Gospel Lk 19:11-28 While people were listening to Jesus speak, he proceeded to tell a parable because he was near Jerusalem and they thought that the Kingdom of God would appear there immediately. So he said, “A nobleman went off to a distant country to obtain the kingship for himself and then to return. He called ten of his servants and gave them ten gold coins and told them, ‘Engage in trade with these until I return.’ His fellow citizens, however, despised him and sent a delegation after him to announce, ‘We do not want this man to be our king.’ But when he returned after obtaining the kingship, he had the servants called, to whom he had given the money, to learn what they had gained by trading. The first came forward and said, ‘Sir, your gold coin has earned ten additional ones.’ He replied, ‘Well done, good servant! You have been faithful in this very small matter; take charge of ten cities.’ Then the second came and reported, ‘Your gold coin, sir, has earned five more.’ And to this servant too he said, ‘You, take charge of five cities.’ Then the other servant came and said, ‘Sir, here is your gold coin; I kept it stored away in a handkerchief, for I was afraid of you, because you are a demanding man; you take up what you did not lay down and you harvest what you did not plant.’ He said to him, ‘With your own words I shall condemn you, you wicked servant. You knew I was a demanding man, taking up what I did not lay down and harvesting what I did not plant; why did you not put my money in a bank? Then on my return I would have collected it with interest.’ And to those standing by he said, ‘Take the gold coin from him and give it to the servant who has ten.’ But they said to him, ‘Sir, he has ten gold coins.’ He replied, ‘I tell you, to everyone who has, more will be given, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. Now as for those enemies of mine who did not want me as their king, bring them here and slay them before me.’” After he had said this, he proceeded on his journey up to Jerusalem.

Yourkshire dales, Cleveland hills, the pennines, the Lake District where William Wordsworth was inspired to write his beautiful poetry and much more. There are more than 1 or 2 national parks in the uk to go see. The most beautiful part of England is the North although they do have beautiful sights in the south too. If you want to see the wild beauty you go north.

If you enjoyed the Isle of Skye and also Stone Henge I HIGHLY recommend a visit to another island off the north coast of Scotland called Orkney! It’s so picturesque and absolutely breathtaking, it’s known as the Neolithic heart of Britain so crammed with some incredible archaeological sites as well as stunning scenery! The amazing thing about the archaeological sites in Orkney is that you can actually go up to them and touch them and feel like a real explorer! There’s places to explore that aren’t in your main attractions of the island if you don’t mind crawling through tunnels and feeling like Indiana Jones 😂

@@RyanShirley an even more unique place is Shetland you wouldn’t believe it’s in Britain, it’s the most northerly place in the UK! An archipelago with such amazing history and the vast hills almost like Norway! There it is like winter all year long! You do get the occasional hot day though in the summer, maxing at around 20 degrees Celsius, equivalent to 68 degrees Fahrenheit, it is so strange how different Shetland and Orkney are with only a 20 minute plane journey apart! I live in the UK, born and raised on the Isle of Wight, which is somewhere I'm surprised wasn't mentioned as it is a hot spot for tourists. Easy to get to as well, hop onto a train from London down to Portsmouth or Southampton and then the ferries to get across the English Channel. It was a gorgeous place to grow up and I'm ever so thankful that I lived there in my early years. Now currently in Wiltshire, not that far away from Stonehenge actually. I do want to go up to Scotland again though. I traveled up there in 2017 for a college trip and we stayed near Spey Bay, close to Inverness. The only main spot we visited (that wasn't the beach) was the Caledonian Forest, which is so beautiful. My mum and I want to visit Ireland as well - so if anyone can recommend places to visit in Ireland that would be cool :) also for Scotland, as I want to go up there again when all of this is over

MacLeod is trained by the swordsman Ramírez (Sean Connery), who explains they both were born with "the Quickening", a power making them invincible to death unless beheaded. Immortals wage a secret war, the victors absorbing the Quickening of those they behead, and one day the "Gathering" will happen when the last few will fight for "the Prize": enough power and knowledge to enslave humanity. Becoming a skilled warrior, the Scottish Highlander lives for several centuries, eventually settling in New York City. Thanks for including Northern Ireland. We are very proud of the beauty and culture we have to offer here, from such a small part of the world, especially after so many years of stupid Troubles. The one thing I would advise is that our rope bridge on the Antrim Coast is a pronounced “Carrick-A-Reed”, and to be honest it’s very average. The Giants Causeway and the coastal walks surrounding it should definitely get a mention in your next video (being one of the natural wonders of the world!). Many thanks!

You should live on the south coast for the weather but not the bloody house prices....better than poxy London though, sod living there where a one bed flat costs an arm and a leg. Any city really, I’d rather earn less and live a better quality life and I’m sure that many city folks are coming round to that way of thinking with more people working from home.

Lived in Northern Ireland and Scotland so travelled loads and been to most of these places. Moved to London and haven't been north of Watford in about 3 years... I love London so this is not necessarily a bad thing. The problem is that when most British people visit London for the first time they go for a short weekend and visit the most famous sights. In other words they spend 60% of their time on horrible transport, 40% of their time surrounded by other tourists, and they hate it. This is fair enough as I love London because of lesser known areas and sights, especially when you are not exhausted going from one tourist spot to the next. London is essentially a different country. And given the chance, a job and ample money (lol) I'd say most British folk would love it too.

@@drey8 New Zealand was the just the set, the LOTR were all based off places in the UK. Mordor was thought of when JRRT looked at the stark contrast between a village called Fence, and a smoke filled chimney ravaged hillside village of Brierfield. Both within 10 min drive of my house. "But Pendle, it seems, has always had this contradiction. This is best reflected when you learn where JRR Tolkien was formulating the ideas for Lord of the Rings. His travels brought him to picturesque Fence - another location overlooked by Pendle Hill. He found a serene place that was perfect for the peaceful life of the hobbits, and, significantly, when he looked over to the neighbouring location of Brierfield, the sight of thick, black smoke blazing from the chimneys gave him his Mordor."
