This is a great list. I see too many of these by people who aren't really gamers. You know, ones that recommend Legend of Dragoon right off the bat, because it's a very well known "obscure" game. This one's got some really good suggestions on it that most people won't have heard about. Though, I'd consider even most of my suggestions to probably be a bit too common. Like Alundra, Blaster Master: Blasting Again, Legend of Legaia, Re-Volt, etc. Kind of a catch 22, "if I'd actually heard about them enough to have played them, they can't really be obscure."

Not only Gems but anything from PS1 and PS2 what is worth mention. Especially in this era when so many online/service games come out and next gen 99% will be digital only, we must collect/save what we can from generations with disc copies.

Rosco McQueen was a game i received as a birthday gift on 98 and to this day holds up extremely well.. especially emulated with a capable Graphics card to bump the resolution . the art style is so timeless and the concept was so fresh for the era. is one of these games that genuinely deserves either a sequel or remake.

Holy smokes this was a video that lived up to its title. Many of these games I've never seen or heard of and I have frequently dig through the PS1's library and found obscure games. But this was a surprisingly refreshing list. I think US channels (which are the ones that usually make recommendations) might not know of some of these games, or they might have been less known or popular over there. Overboard looks like fun and loaded looks like something I didn't know I wanted to play
@8bitH5 ай бұрын
That's awesome to hear! Yeah, I imagine some titles are more popular in the UK than the US and versa versa. Both of those games are so awesome - but Loaded you absolutely must play!

@8bitH I do know the Wipeout was very popular in the UK, I think the games where playable in clubs or they had the music playing there. I heard so from MVG in one of his PS1 videos. I think it was for the Dev unit. (Net Yaroze)

@miditemplate4011 Жыл бұрын
Did you just insult my favorite ps1 game of this list? But paperboy can't fight, this one even uses special moves to stack them for later use. It is also surreal looking, like something is wrong with every city. I don't know but it does use the adrenaline and nerves. I forgot to mention Urban Chaos, another open world-ish game that was before gta3. I'd say that game is daring, ps1 version is worse, sure, might be 7.3. It's a rooftop simulator in the end.

Cool thumbnail, I see you fighting a system, KZbin is almost full China for 10 straight years. I consider hidden gem when it didn't sold much and isn't played a lot. That would be echo night, dreadful pallete and schizophrenia enhances badness, it is sorta humble but working, subconsciously. Echo 2 was a bit disappointing that it didn't invent as much as first. But my favorite would be jumping flash, out of US launch titles it is most desired by me. But it ain't hidden gem at all I think. Because you don't have much to choose from in early days (therefore might have sold 600k). And because it is based on a cool older 3d game (might be respected/popular). Spriggan is cool.
