I like checking on our wild rabbits in the yard daily with a special treat. We don't grow grass for them (there's grass everywhere in the neighborhood) but we regrow celery and romaine lettuce for them. ☺

ive gotta try the tape trick with the baseboards, ive been putting wire pen sections on the parts of the wall where the baseboards are exposed. with rabbit play pen, we had to construct a top using chicken wire on a wood frame for his play pen because jojo realized after years of using it, that he has an over 3 foot vertical leap (jumping from floor to floor) and would not stop escaping during downtime. LOL. baby gas drops are lifesavers helping bunny to recover from gas quickly before the discomfort causes it to develop into gi stasis

I use a vinegar & water solution for cleaning and it always is so strong! I had never thought about adding an essential oil! Great idea!

O M G THAAANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO❣️I did that. i had a hutch. once i realized it wouldnt be big enough for long, i got an xpen and put the hutch inside it. i also put her travel pen inside the area and took the front panel off cuz thats where her corner litter box stays and thats the one she prefers so i leave it. i have a big big box where i put more hay and her pellets but she hasnt yet used it for that. she can jump on top of the trvl pen to get in the hutch but i built her some steps out of pvc pipe lol. it works. i used a wire closet shelf to append to xpen where wall is exposed to save my baseboards 😆 BUT she is ever ever so skiddish. she will binky and lounge near me and gives kisses but God forbid i try to scoop her or brush her. slowly slowly slowly but surely one day i swear 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻she is 7 months 🐰

Thank you very much for this great video. For your cleaning solution: you can put the peel off a few oranges with vinegar in a jar and let it sit for at least a few weeks or as long as you want. When you mix it with water it mostly smells like orange because the essential oil in the peel are in the vinegar now. :)

Very helpful video!! Quick question though. I will be moving in with my aunt soon, who is renting a house. We do not know if the bedrooms will be carpet or hardwood, and my rabbit unfortunately loves pulling up the carpet. What types of rugs are safe for rabbits? Both material wise and length wise

I didn't look so i dont onow if someone already said this but to help with that vinegar smell, you can soak lemon peels or orange peels in vinegar for at least a day and strain the peels out and mix with your water and it smells so much better and fresh.

Hi your video is being helpful for me to take care of my bunny, but regarding the tape tip, my bunny seemed to be fallen in love with tapes that he searches around my room for that after chewing on some which I used for getting things fixed. He started to tear off and chew on the tapes from those boxes I gave him to play with. I also suspect that he actually ingested a small amount of tape last night. Is that an urgent matter that I need to take him to the vet? I am worried that his digestive system would be stacked by those tape he ingested and that is freaking me out. I googled a bit regarding this matter and he is still eating drinking and pooping, but I am still a bit concerned

That’s good. Until about 8 mo if I remember you should feed them unlimited alfalfa hay and unlimited alfalfa pellets. At 8m you should get them on Timothy or other grass hay(still unlimited) and Ween them off of the alfalfa pellets to a Timothy pellet that is limited based on the size of your rabbit. At this time you should also slowly introduce them to greens and veggies so that they can start eating daily salads. The house rabbit society website has a whole article and more on this.

I took my bun to meet my mom at her house before the freeze in Houston. When I got back, she hid under my bed and then in her hidey hole. She won't leave her pen. She sniffs our hands for treats but won't eat her pellets, only her hay. She is an unspayed 10 month old blue lionhead that I took in the beginning of November. Is this hormones? Nothing else changed. Anyone?

Does your mom have pets? The traveling may have stressed her out because she was in an unfamiliar place, and may have gotten cold if there was no heating. It’s obvious she’s lost some of her appetite, but if she stops eating altogether and gets runny poop or stops pooping take her to the vet immediately. It’s never a good sign for a rabbit to lose their appetite or stop eating. After 6-12 hours of both not eating of pooping they can die within 24 hours.
