I'd be grateful to find how to increase depth and/or intensity of the built-in spring reverb. Incidentally replacing the stock speaker with a Weber ceramic speaker made an astounding improvement in tone. I had thought it sounded okay before the speaker replacement, but it's much better now.
@ReverendHellbilly2 жыл бұрын
I agree speaker upgrades will make a huge difference. The reverb upgrade I'd say a "fender" tank but that's out of my expertise. The aqua puss delay make this amp sound amazing. I'd try that.Cheers

My 15R lost its reverb once. Found out the spring reverb can get "stuck," one good rap, and it came back. Outside of that yes very dependable, great tone, super light, unreally loud for 15 watts

All true, greatest 15watt solid state amp ever!!! Another great thing is u can buy a pathfinder without reverb for real cheap! Run out of 15R into input of the plain 15 without reverb and both have reverb!!! , plus 30 watts. I have this exact combination & this is nice 🎶 I'm old now and don't play much anymore, but if I do , I don't like loud & this amp by itself is plenty. If u find one under 200 dollars it's worth it! Oh, didn't mention great recording amp too.🎶🎵🎶🎵😎

Rev, the only thing I don't like about my Path15 is the hiss when the amp is on. It's not silent when not playing. My Pathfinder 10 doesn't seem to do it as much. My 15 is from the first year of production. Any suggestion on how to reduce it (other than turning the treble way down)?
@ReverendHellbilly3 жыл бұрын
I have never had that issue it. As im sure you checked all your cables and guitar. so could it be near a lamp or light of some kind? .led lamps can do weird stuff. You in America?
@joeroganjosh9333 Жыл бұрын
When I’m not playing I push the Boost off which quietens it down, my kit builds aren’t shielded very well but a bit of hiss isn’t a big problem.

These are good, I had an old AC4 from the 60's and that was amazing, why not try a Tonelab SE footboard by Vox, it can go into a PA or a transistor amplifier like this, plus you get 96 editable patches. Sound is great too, from the classic Vox AC15 and 30's and Fender and Marshall etc clone models.

@@Mr.Steve-O sboth yes and no. There quite a lot of them for sale usually at a rather low price - al over south america and in asia (Mexico, Brasil, the Philipines, Korea, Argentina etc). It is just a matter/question of "your" local electic power/voltage version/wall plug... Great news for those living in the US for example. In Europe thou there are usually a few/some black onces for sale every now and then. The hardest to fins seem to be the classic brown with EU/russian/middle east wall plug - thou there is one for sale in Iran at the moment. Great buy, great price, great condition. Only drawback - Irans leadership is "not such a huge fan" of rock n roll and I assume therefore that there could be some issues both getting the amp thru and also paying for the amp due to lack of credit card support, embargos etc.

Why are you surprised by the volume? Theres Watts,Valve Watts, and then there's Vox Watts! Or as someone once said, a Vox Watt is like a normal Watt plus a chair to the face 😂. Being serious, Vox solid state amps always seem to slip under the radar for some unknown reason, yet they are (IMHO) some of the best budget solid state amps out there.

Basic tone is decent. Boost is a little disappointing, gets farty fast. Reverb is a little weak. Yeah it has to be cranked, but cranked runs the risk of feeding back. Tremolo kicks it to above average. Seriously, why did tremolo go almost extinct in modern amps? It's a pity it was replaced with a model that has no reverb or tremolo.
