In addition to this great collection of coasters, I love how Alton Towers chose to go dark and twisted with the theming! Such a shame about Wickerman, what person uses a vape to accidentally catch a roller coaster on fire and ruin it for everyone else? But the pre show looked so interesting and looks like it rides well! All the more reason to come back to this park and hope to get on it in the future🤞🏻 Nemesis Reborn might just be the most well themed B&M invert out there👁️👏🏻

Wickerman is a grower imho. Would have put it at 3 behind nemmie and smiler but I think I've come to appreciate it more over the years and put it at 2 with nemmie at 1 these days. That might be age and rerideability talking 😂

I’ve argued for a long time. That Nemesis has been the UK’s only coaster that would break the worldwide top 100. With Hyperia we now have 2.

Alton Towers is all about the dark vibe and that centrepiece of an ancient mansion. There’s nothing like it in the world. Also, I love strolling around its sprawling gardens in between rides.

Wicker Man is absolutely top 3 in the park for me. The thrills are sort of moderate, but the theme is the absolute best in the park and brings the experience to a different level for me. It’s a masterpiece in many regards. Overall I disagree with everything except for Nemesis and Spinball Whizzer’s placements, but it’s always great to see more Alton Towers videos!

The reason we slander th13teen is because it replaced the corkscrew and was hyped up to be something so much more, I would recommend the expedition theme park video to find out more

The best ride is actually walking through the gardens and talking to the gardeners to get fun gossip about the manor's history Also Oblivion is still the best drop on a dive coaster until someone else finally digs another real tunnel.

@Willempie2408 Baron is almost there, much better than the wimpy tunnel on Yukon Striker, but it loses effect by not being deep enough. You can still clearly see the track flattening out even with fog on Baron, while Oblivion looks straight down with no bottom. I did forget about Baron when writing that though.

I was lucky that Wicker Man was back open on my UK trip this past September. While I agree that I’d put it at #3 (it’s really fun) I’d place Runaway Mine Train above Rita because of how it interacts with the terrain and especially with the Rapids ride, but I really loved the steep banked element and the overall cool feeling of being on a powered coaster. We were sent around 5 times but that was likely 3 times too many. Lol.

Alton Towers is my home park and I was thrilled to ride Nemesis Reborn. Also Wicker Man can be quite intense since it's a wooden coaster. However I got bruised on the Runaway Mine Train.

Nemmy was my number one for a long time (literally decades) until Hyperia came along, so obviously my number 1 in the park. The problem with Rita, is not only is it short, the capacity is appalling so it’s not worth the wait. I actually prefer Runaway Mine Train to both it and Spinball, another disappointment with just how long you have to queue for it. At least Runaway Mine Train has the fun interaction with the rapids.

My Alton towers ranking is Smiler (because night rides really whippy forceful and has decent airtime) Wickerman (because night rides crazy streaks nice pops of air nice theming and really good pacing) Nemesis (really whippy and nicely themed I got row 4 so I got unlucky and the forces felt a bit tame) Th13teen (night ride in the dark with my mom who’s terrified and didn’t know about Th13teen sitting behind me I laughed so hard lol) Rita (fast nice airtime could be longer and last hill doesn’t do much) Galactica (tame but cool) Oblivion (love the drop but it’s just that)

the funny thing being on this one of the main complaints being abt height. AT have height restrictions due to loacls who dont want the country side ruined.

Alton towers is my home park and I love it 😍. I go here all the time and it my favourite uk theme park. Here’s my top 10 for those who may care. 10. Octonaughts (for obvious reasons) 9. Runaway mine train (same reasons) 8. Th13teen (too short, unfor-filling and the surprise element gets old after a couple rides) 7. Spinball (super disorienting underrated for sure) 6. Oblivion (short but great drop) 5. Galactica (relaxing and gives a low to the ground flying sensation) 4. Rita (super underrated with powerful airtime and an amazing launch) 3. Wickerman (been back and forth on this one being 1st, 2nd or 3rd but it’s a bit slow in the morning but ride it at night and it’s amazing) 2. Smiler (super intense tho wish it was smoother) 1. Nemesis reborn (super well themed and intense)

The theming of The Wicker Man is great. The ride itself is not as good as other European GCI coasters I have ridden. It’s about on par with Heidi at Plopsaland. But it’s not as good as Joris at Efteling and nowhere near as good as Troy at Toverland.

I think this looks like one of the most underrated parks even if it’s highly talked about! Also even after Hyperia (not hot take incoming) I still think it looks FAR better than Thrope Park.

It's not even close. Operations at AT are dreadful and getting worse. The food is poor and overpriced. Merlin are tanking this park it's a disgrace as it could be so much better...

As a Brit, I feel like I rate Wicker Man higher because we’re not used to woodies… and that thing felt fast. For me, the Oblivion drop is by far the most intense element in the entire park.

Alton towers is my home park and I have been 34 times this year. In my opinion, wicker man is better than smiler and Galactica is close behind those two. Th13teen is not that good tho.

This list is perfect, other than the fact that I prefer The Smiler to Nemesis. Then again I rode The Smiler multiple times But I put Nemesis in 2nd place which it deserves, especially because it had the best ops in the park. Wickerman is ok but it's a low tier GCI so you didn't miss much; they make you go through a long themed pre show then make it almost impossible to chose your own row.
