shivering timbers is a masterpiece. Also little fun fact about michigans adventure, they were also gonna build a morgan hyper a few years after they built ST but then got cancelled when cedar fair bought the park

I remember my first ride on Shivering Timbers back on June 6, 2000. I was very scared getting on it, but after one ride, I was hooked on roller coasters for life!

Shivering Timbers feels like what a wooden hypercoaster would be. Like if you took Magnum or Steel Force and made it out of wood, it would feel like ST

Been on 17 different CCI's. I've really enjoy 14 of them. This is the ranking of those 14: 1. GhostRider 2. Shivering Timbers 3. Tremors 4. Rampage 5. Tonnerre 2 Zeus 6. Boulder Dash 7. Cornball Express 8. Raven 9. Legend 10. Zeus 11. Cyclops 12. Boss 13. Timber Terror 14. Lost Coaster 1 and 2 are pretty close as are 3-9 and 10-14. I think you might be correct, CCI is definitely in the running for best manufacture that just focused on Wooden roller coaster. Nice video! Parc Asterix is getting rid of the backwards car on Tonnerre 2 Zeus due to capacity. My only ride on it is backwards, and I will be getting back to the park this summer to try it forwards.

@@CoasterDash One of my two visits, Legend ran rough. Plus, I prefer airtime at the end of the day and while GhostRider has great laterals, it also has the airtime for me.

A fourth CCI was demolished. You forgot about The VIllain at Geauga Lake which was torn down when the park closed. It was a good ride for a while, too bad they didn't upkeep it and it got pretty rough! It had metal supports but a wooden track which was pretty unique.

Love the idea of lists like this. Also, I know our tastes differ somewhat as I prefer wooden roller coasters to steel, but that actually helps me appreciate your list even more. Keep up the great content.

Duuuuuuuude I am so glad to see my home park having your favorite wooden coaster. It is criminally underrated, and barely ANY of these coaster channels talk about it. Honestly sad seeing that Cedar Fair has barely done anything. Of course, they relocated Thunderhawk way back, added some water rides a decade ago, and then slapped on some new paint over the years. I would give anything to see Shivering Timbers get the RMC treatment. One can only dream hahaha. I'm not gonna lie, though. Michigan's Adventure will always be my 2nd favorite park behind Cedar Point. ❤

CCI definitely isn’t the talk of the town in the modern scene, but man do they have some amazing rides. Legend, Raven, Shivering Timbers, and especially GhostRider are the best I’ve done.

My favorite CCI ride is Boulder Dash at Lake Compounce, followed by Legend at Holiday World, Cornball Express at Indiana Beach, Outlaw at Adventureland, Zeus at Mt. Olympus, Cyclops at Mt. Olympus, Hoosier Hurricane at Indiana Beach, Underground at Adventureland, Pegasus at Mt. Olympus and Ghostrider at Knott's Berry Farm. Raven was closed during my visit to Holiday World, I haven't ridden Ghostrider since the GCI refurbishment (but I will this August), and I hope to check out Shivering Timbers at Michigan's Adventure this July also.

Easily my favorite woodie manufacturer. Hope you get to indiana beach soon. I think cornball express would crack this list. Its on par with the holiday world woodies in my personal opinion.

Marc - I'd love to see you do a video ranking all the mine train coasters in the world. I know that Vekoma has built some in Europe in the last couple decades that probably top most of the old Arrows here in the U.S. It would be cool to see a ranking of ALL inverts in the U.S. (or world)... B&M, Vekoma and Arrows. I'd love to see where you would place Vortex at Canada's Wonderland, Great Nor'easter at Morey's Piers and Montu at BGT with regards to one another. Keep up the great work!
@chadsstillalive10 ай бұрын
I suggest prioritizing Indiana Beach once Triple Loop opens. Specific to the CCIs, Cornball Express is super underrated w/ some elite ejector in the back row and Lost Coaster is so weird, silly, and fun with forces that take you by surprise when you consider the ride’s stats.

Have to agree night rides are fun on woodies even though I don’t have CCI credits👍🏻 Riding Comet at night was a blast. For the French viewers, should they have said, “Pui nous conduissons à rebours?” For Tonnerre 2 Zeus? N’est pas? Désolé je veux pratiquer mon français et matentaint je parle deux jours, le mardi et aujourd'hui. Merci

Yes Michigan! What's cool about Muskegon, Michigan is after you visit Michigan's Adventure in the morning and take the Lake Express boat to Milwaukee, WI to enjoy the night of fun; and return back the next day. The ride in itself is a fun experience, especially if you enjoy the winds on the deck. And yes, you can take your car on that trip as well, if you choose. What kind of suck though is the price change for it. It's quadrupled since Slow Joe became POTUS, but before, it was a Godsend, especially if you are a Bucks fan living in MI just wanting to see a sportsball game. Go Greek Freak!

Michigander here and appreciate ST being #1 but sucks that it's almost impossible to get a night ride due to the hours being so lousy and the park always closing when it's still broad daylight. I guess they are afraid of complaints of guests hitting deer on the way out because US-131 in that stretch of Michigan has a ton of suicidal deer that love to jump in front of cars. I would like to become a billionaire (or similar) and purchase Michigan's Adventure and make it the most elite independent park in the country, similar to Silver Dollar City with influences from parks like SFFT and CP but also paying homage to the Deer Park original name before Cedar Fair bought the park. I'd get rid of the Cedar Fair corporate stuff and offer top of the line Michigan food similar to how an independent park like Silver Dollar City has top tier food because they aren't corporate. I'd have local sourced meats, vegetables, Michigan fruit pies, and Michigan seasonal game (deer/elk) on the menu. With global warming, I would offer a much longer schedule throughout the year from early May to Halloween and much longer operating hours. I'd offer something similar to a Christmas Winterfest but make sure it's profitable and there's at least one or two good things in operation and make the GP absolutely love it they way they do SDC. Make it a destination park for everyone. Old people, families, and enthusiasts alike. I would put 3-4 elite coasters from the top manufacturers, maintain Shivering TImbers as-is, plus make a stellar RMC hybrid out of Wildcat. Not sure what I'd do with the older Vekoma SLC Thunderhawk. I might sell it for a family Vekoma because a park like that would need more of a family ride. Also add a family Michigan Mine Ride similar to Fire in the Hole.

I've ridden 12 CCI's and in my never-ending quest to hijack Dash's comments sections on his recent Top 10 videos, here's mine. But first, the heartbreaking ones I missed because they were down for various reasons when I visited their respective parks-- GhostRider (twice!), Boss, Hoosier Hurricane, and Outlaw. Top 10 10) Underground 9) Kingdom Coaster 8) Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain 7) Cyclops 6) Legend 5) Zeus 4) Cornball Express 3) Raven 2) Boulder Dash 1) Shivering Timbers

@@CoasterDash I did West Coast Bash (when that was a thing) with TPR in 2014 and 2015. Both times were in mid-September which, as you probably know, is when GhostRider has scheduled maintenance before Knott's Scary Farm. Even more maintenance in 2015 as that was when GCI came in. Might have to make a long-awaited return to LA next year for missed and new credits GhostRider, HangTime, West Coast Racers, Wonder Woman, and whatever's being built at Universal.
