When I was in college, I lived with my cousin and his family. One night, I babysat my 4-year-old niece when my cousin and his wife were out on a date. As soon as her parents left, my niece pulled off this really old storybook from a bookshelf and sat on my cousin's now-deceased mom's armchair. She began reading the book out loud and kept correcting herself from the words she mispronounced. Watching her, I thought it was really weird for a 4-year-old to do that. When I asked her what she was doing, she replied: "I'm reading with grandma." All the hairs on my neck stood and I called my cousin in panic as my Aunt(my niece's grandmother) had passed away two weeks before my niece was even born.

I remember when the two little kids got murdered in the bathtub by the nanny. I live on long island which is really close to Manhattan and I actually know a woman who was very deeply disturbed by the murders and she actually does a walk for the two kids every year 😞

I was the one being looked after. I was 4, weeks away from turning the big 5. Mother/Dad were on way to hospital to have sister dearest. Sitter arrived... Starter fine. Then in a fit of rage, attempted to burn the house down. With her in it. Thankfully, had no idea what I was doing. Her fault for not playing the game properly. (Meaning - letting me win). Above story was told to me multiple times over the years to the point that I thought about reliving it on them. I didn't, however.

I had to dog sit one time. It was my cousins dog. I love animals and I was 9 and my parents knew I was good with animals and even at that age I respected animals. My dog walked out and started to pet the dog. He called me over and I pet the dogs back like my dad instructed. I walked off to to go back to playing and the dog lunged at me tearing into my back. My dad has to yank it off me and rushed me inside to take me to the hospital. I still love animals but I’m a lot more weary now and won’t puppy sit

I’m the eldest of 6 children and apparently my younger siblings told their friends how mean I was, so I never had any behavior problems with any of the children. Although, once when I was 14, one of the fathers kept insisting that he give me a ride home...I lived across the street from their house, needless to say, I walked home.

My scary babysitting story: I was babysitting for 3 kids that I knew pretty well. I had babysat for them a lot before, and nothing weird had ever happened. That was, until, one day while the two youngest kids were napping. Occasionally, I checked the baby monitor which had a button that could make the footage switch from room to room. The footage on the monitor was grainy and black and white, but for just one second before switching to a new room, it switched to a crystal clear image in full color of the two oldest kids in the backyard. There wasn’t even a camera in the backyard. I don’t know what it meant, but it never happened before, and hasn’t happened since. It doesn’t sound that creepy in writing, I guess but it was scary for me.

I know this is an older video, but I will still share my scary babysitting story...... I was maybe 12 at the time, babysitting a neighbor's kids. Two nice, single moms shared an apartment and both had a young son. One was 1 1/2 and the other was 2. They would usually be asleep when I would babysit. One of moms started dating a guy who was super creepy. He started coming by while I was babysitting and making "jokes" about statutory rape. I was terrified every time I saw him. I finally told the moms what he was saying to me and the one dumped him and they told him they would have him arrested if he came by again.

It wasn't really a creepy story but it was scary, so one day I was babysitting my sister's friends and we were playing outside, and then the door suddenly locked from the inside so we were stuck outside and I was freaking out but one of the girls took me to the neighbours and we ended up going through the girls bedroom window, and Even though we we're safe I was still freaking out because my anxiety is pretty much paranoia in situations like that but luckily it was my only situation that something scary happened. In 1970 my dad was 15 years old and living with his family in town in northern New Jersey called Glen Rock. One day he was asked to babysit the next door neighbor's young son while the parents were out. My dad agreed to this and was told by the parents that their son liked roam in his sleep when he takes his nap. Shortly after my dad put the kid down for nap he was gazing out the window at the beautiful day, the kid came sleepwalking into the living room. My dad turned to the kid and shouted at him to "Go back to bed." the startled kid turned and ran back to the bedroom he was sleeping in. Not long after that my dad saw the sky light up bright orange that was followed by a loud explosion that shook the ground. As it soon turned out the Bayway Oil Refinery in Linden, New Jersey across the Hudson River from New York exploded injuring multiple people! Coincidence or something else?
